do you guy sell boats if so where can i see what you have?
Will it work with a smaller boat. Eg 3.5m
After researching what I could do with my 14 foot aluminum V-hull, I was amazed at how many people prefer to set their boats up for bass fishing over other fishing! I realize you can target other species with a bass boat, but I've always been someone who fishes for more typical "food" fish. What really blows me away is the amount of carpet most people use. I've seen more rotted wood and just plain nasty floors due to carpet than any other reason. I've done a lot of salt water fishing and you don't see carpet in any of those boats. You've done some nice things with your boat that I might incorporate into mine. But, for now I'm still trying to decide which ones I need.
I have an old 14 or 16ft Sylvan V-hull in my fathers barn from when I was younger. Every time I watch your videos it tempts me to drive back to Michigan to pick it up and do a build on it. Ive been fishing out of a Hobie PA14 and while I love kayak fishing, the ability to cover water makes me miss having a boat. Great content man, I always feel like a learn a new trick or a nugget of wisdom watching your videos.
Do it ! I did same thing . In Indiana .my Grandpa's old beat 14ft been down for like 20 yrs got it back up and running and it reminds me of 30 ys ago !
Wow! I have a 1962 Seaking in the backyard I would like to do this to one day. But I am not handy what so ever! You guys do amazing work!!!!
I built my 16' v-hull smoker craft (almost identical to yours) similar to this, I like things simple and that's exactly how I built it, couldn't be happier. This was a fun boat series to watch.
Go, man, go!!!! I have an idea for you because I know that you hate seeing your fishing rods on the deck where they can get stepped on and broken in rough water. What if you put a 6 to 12 in high handrail around the rear 8'ft of the sheer the boat. On sailboats, they call them stanchions. That would give you a place to put rod holders to store your fishing rods, under 8'ft long, in a vertical protected column, on each side of the boat. It would unclutter your deck. You would want to keep them low so you can land big fish with a net over the handrail. Pontoon boats have them.
It was cool you showed testing the boat in the chop - impressive!

We’ll said.
Outstanding my friend.. I have a '64 Cherokee almost identical with a 25hp, and i'm loving what you turned out for this show!!! Mine is a tank, and see where I csn improve, and grateful for your input on channel. Absolutely a must for the weekend warrior!!! 👍
Good luck!
@@TinyBoatNation I just picked up a 2008 Fisher Deep V 1466..
it has a 5’6” beam and 48” hull and I’m super excited to begin the build process!
On your kit, how many rods typically fit in the rod locker - trying to decide between the tourney and pro level kits?
Also, do these dry hatches come un painted or powder coated?
I've only been on john boat/tiny boat but seeing these videos makes me want to build one. And I don't even fish lol. Love the videos!👍
With your knowledge and ideas I was able to deck my 14ft semi v from front to back with powedrive in the front and a 9.9 in the back. Garage kept and a beaut. Thanks guy!
how did you make the deck with a semi v?
Nice build! The difference between stupidity and bravery is the prepwork. I'd say based on this prepwork this is bravery. I'm getting ready to start my 1960's semi v boat project and need alot of storage so that'll be in mind as I go through this. Appreciate the insight!
Love all your boat modifications!!!!👍👍👍👍
Correct on the pu foam, it's closed cell fuel resistant. Excellent floatation and sound deadening. Correct on the ply floor, done right it's durable. It is also more buoyant than aluminium. Drop a piece of ply in water, it floats. Drop aluminium in and it sinks. Good work 👍
Thanks for the info!
People say I'm insane on my motorcycle builds because I don't miss a single detail. OCD sucks, but it does have some benefits. So I truly understand the headache of not being good enough striving for perfection.
Appreciate the time and skill level involved in your builds and videos and our OCD /anal tendencies definitely match up cause I'd take a ridiculous amount of time with projects like this. Well done !!!
I have the 16ft version of this boat & it's a 1971. Can't wait to put a floor in it. Not going tongo anywhere near as involved as this build but definitely looking to improve it.
just grabbed a 16ft deep v looks like a fun project to get started on..
Such Great Content! I’m Doing This Type Of Build With My Sons Right Now. I Bought The Starter Kit And Am Addicted Now! Thanks TBN 🤙🏼🤙🏼
However I Wish You Would Make Some Duck Hunting Boat Content & Accessories For Duck Boats. Attachable Blinds, Shotgun Shell Box Holders, Etc.
This is a great video, I have had a sea king 14ft v hull that needs work👍 this is probably a better route than my original first remodel
As a Havasu local I get excited every time I see y'all's truck! Also definitely saving to get a jon boat along with one of the kits, certainly more affordable than a full on bass boat
Thanks! Do it in the fall when it’s not so hot
Man…. Every boat u do is crazy!! Your attention to detail is awesome. I appreciate your videos. Keep grinding brother !
Thank you!
Man you are truly a master craftsman love TBN great job love all your videos.
Thank you very much!
I agree with more storage. Especially with a boat that small. And when you have large feet (like mine), you need all the foot room you can get without stepping rods and tackle.
FIL gave me his 80s Sears gamefisher with a basically brand new 15hp Johnson yesterday. Planning on buying a kit this fall. Will probably go with the starter XL kit 🤙🤙
Great video. Your joke about a co angler who’s weird 🤣🤣🤣
I was on the floor 😂
That is one sweet ride!!!!
Possibly your best video! Thanks for the info.
I was sent here by”Wayne the Boat Guy” on the “New Popular Starter Boats Now”.
Sweet!
I really love this little boat. I do agree you need storage other than that amazing
love this build. going to have to join the tbn members list soon as we have a big project of our own ahead of us!. building our first of maney tournament boats for the Australian bream series 🎉🇦🇺🇦🇺😝
Sweet! We’ll send you some decals
Just found this channel and I think it’s great!
Glad you enjoy it!
This is sweet, I have two 16ft naydens sitting in my field, one was a duck boat my dad and uncle hunted out of as kids. I’d love to do something similar to this with it. Currently finishing up a rebuild of a ‘87 Tuffy 180 Rampage. I guess this will be my next project!
I love it! Would enjoy building a small bass boat. Very cool!
Try it out!
I wanna see you do a small glass boat, don't think I have seen you do one before.
Cheers!
I really enjoy these videos. Recently got back into watching your builds.
What a transformation. The only downside is a 20hp motor. Needs an old school lightweight 2-stroke triple in the 40-90hp range. Souped up to preference.
Have you guys done a leisure build? Like strictly a one for lounging and cruising? I’m starting a little boater club with tiny boats and your channel is right up my alley for what I’d like to do with mine
End of video brought back a memory. I had a 10’ plastic pontoon like bass boat. 55# minnkota on front. Was fishing a cove all day and when I looked back to the main lake all I saw was 3’ white caps. I tied everything down. Pulled cord on my inflatable life vest and spun motor around and gave it a ton of trim to lift now the back of the boat out of the water. Wind blew to hard to go straight across the lake so I had to tach back n forth. Scary as hell but I never felt more alive
Great build! I love this boat man. Great job!
Nice work on the boat. I currently have a Kayak and while that's great for me, my buddy refuses to buy one. But he's willing to do an aluminum boat. So i'm wondering about how to even get started with a project like this. I'll be checking out some of your stuff. Thank you!
I have a 1975 StarCraft 14’er that I’m currently working on, but this build is beyond what I was thinking. I’m not sure if I installed a casting deck that high if it would tip my style boat
Not going to lie, I had a bad experience with hydroturf to wood. Going to rebuild my Jon boat in the future. Watching you guys to get ideas
Did you resin coat the wood?
@@TinyBoatNation no, this was my first ever overhaul of a boat so I didn't know much about it. After watching videos, including on TBNation, now I know better and got more ideas for the next time. May upload videos on this account
Y’all did an awesome job. Enjoyed every minute of the video fantastic. I have a small boat. If you ever want to make a video I will donate my boat. That was awesome. Wish I had the money to do that.
the difference in the direction of the turf or carpet is brush. and it is directional that what the arrows are for on the back. the foam I'm not sure if it has a brush its been a minute since I've been a part of putting carpet in a boat
You are the best!
Love this how do I get on the list to have my boat done? 3/20/2023
Impressive work! Looking forward to doing something similar myself! Glad I found your channel
I'm a big guy on disability trying to figure out my best choices to doing a small boat like this that is somewhat affordable being on a limited income. I'm a navy veteran that misses the water and I've always wanted a boat but always had to fish from the shore. Being in middle Tennessee it's really hard to fish for big bass standing on the bank. Any advice you can give would be helpful
I can help you. Well I have found myself in the same situation. You need a boat a little bigger. However I would go with a aluminum boat. Most all of the aluminum manufacturers built small fishing boats that had seats and floors etc. find one of those in s 16 17 18 or even a 19.Take everything out. Now you have a plain aluminum hull. Now put a floor back in and create the interior with a live well fishing tackle box boxes. Storage boxes. ETC. then stop at just a few seats maybe on top of other boxes or your live well. You can position then so you can move around in the boat with a large open area. You can find these cheap because all that carpet and soft interior is trashed from the sun and use. That would be a perfect boat for you and it will not cost you a lot, because most people only think of taking it back to factory, however you don’t want factory. You will have a nice little boat at a fraction of the cost with a ton of open room for you to move around in. You can always add rails in places needed for aiding your disability.
I’m in West TN, your best bet is watching marketplace and waiting for a good deal to come up, main thing you need to watch out for on the hull is just that it doesn’t have leaks
I just scored what I believe was the first truly tiny fishing boat that came from the factory. Check out and then try to find a fisher sv 16 gt or of you need it bigger they make an even harder to find sv 18 gt. It's kind like your getting a job boat with a semi v hull and my 16 can take up to 75 ponies on the transom. I'm still gonna modify it but it came with aluminum floors so no wood to rot out so it'll be fun.
This is a dope build
Another good one!
really really nice build
This is amazing!!!!! The quality of your work is impressive. Are your kits mainly for experienced boat builders or can a beginner figure this out? That boat will never sink from the looks of it.
A beginner can figure it out and we also have master classes and customer service to help you
Your next build should be a Coleman crawdad
Hot dang that is one sweeeeet lil build.
Had no idea you were outta Havasu definitely gonna look into a conversion for one of my dads old boats just gotta find the time😂
How many rattlecans does it take on the average paint job?
6
Super nice rig! I love what you’re doing.
I have a 30 year old flat bottom 14 ft aluminum boat that was given to me because it has leaks from scrubbing the bottom ( i can only guess how) at the back in the three v channels. I cleaned it up and the aluminum is worn through in 3 places.
I don't have the ability to weld it. Can i fiberglass over the holes to repair it? And how can i put storage boxes in without leaks ?
The boat looks like the ones you used to be able to get from bait and tackle shops for $150.
No seats, just a bow plate and cross board in back.
Can you please give me some advise ?
sponsored by the word "tactful" along with "tactfully"
How are you attaching the side rails to the hull?
What type of plywood are you using? Doesn't look like marine plywood. Thanks
How deep is the hull from the top to the bottom of the depth? Does the build have to be a deep v hull to be stable or can it be a v hull but not so deep I guess
Nice boat!
Great work.
Nice boat 🚤
Very nice build ! I just bought the rpd 1219 from your store
Those are really good consoles. I’m installing one as we speak.
Me and my buddy is rebuilding a Jon boat that looks similar to this but we want to not spend a lot of money on it. any tips?
The way you fit and fastened everything (minimal to no welding) was better for replacing later on if needed and kept out any heat distortion or contamination.
And here I was getting ready to build a aluminum transit and everyone is telling me I’m stupid And you have to use wood. And now I don’t have to build one I can save time and buy one I guess I’m on my way to go find it thank
True craftmen
Man that's a pretty big job but I'd like to have one of those.
I over-did it. It's not that bad.
@Tiny Boat Nation yeah I've been looking at other builds. I'm glad I came across you guys. I'm thinking about a 14ft jon boat that can be loaded on a top rack on a truck. No trailers or launch ramps. I think for fishing that's a good way to go because you can go almost anywhere.
I would just add that you should seal the wood outside of the boat
down side and spicy spot for treble hooks is lower then the deck into areas you can step down into. get a hook in the shin or calf or heel
but awesome mod and super creative
Clumsy people don’t belong in boats
What do you mean the gas will "implode the subfloor," is the foam there to displace water or to keep the boat from sinking should it ever flip? The foam doesnt actually help the boat float upright correct? Sorry if its a dumb question, this is pretty new to me yet.
It serves a handful of purposes, such as rigidity and flotation in the event of flooding
so tomorrow im getting my first boat its a 14 foot boat that is kinda like this boat before u restored it and i am planning on getting a winch on the left side of the boat but i need like a seat to put the winch on and i dont know how to do that and i cant find any youtube tutorials for that so can u help me?
Awesome😍
When yall going to do a saltwater boat
Just had a question about the flooring. If it gets damaged or you get tired of the EVA foam how do you remove it? Appreciate everything you do, keep up the good work
What’s the top speed on that boat with that 20hp motor?
So how much TOTAL would you guess it took to make this boat? Like if I came up to you and said I wanted one, how much would you say? Its so nice, loved the video
Could be between 3-5k die depending on total amount of hatches and accessories added in.
Official TBN drinking game:
Drink every time you hear the word "tactfully"
I’ll keep that in mind
@@TinyBoatNation all love. Don't stop
@@TinyBoatNation Suggestion: Increase the amount of times it's said then sit back and rake in those autoplay views when people pass out 😉
i would love a boat like this but dont have the boat plus dont have the things to build it
Is a 12ft 1967 Alumicraft too small for this build?
I do dangerous things quickly.... run flooded mississippi river a bunch as I've lived-in flood plains since 2010...smaller boats with tiller is more agile and draft is great for shallow areas...running a 14ft Lowe with 20hp 4stoke can lift end by end easily... my neighbors with larger boats can't go half the places I can do to trees depth winds. I've chased got away docks, boats, lp tanks, and much more...being able to grapple a log or fell tree away from house, garages, and maneuver them safely is not always easy.. go get um:)
#LowLyfer♧
What lenth shatf did you go with on your trolling motor?
How does the garden hose help with drainage?
It helps drain water to the subfloor wherever you cut it off at so long as it’s at the highest point
Sweet video 😊
i built canoes with the same style gunwels but we rivited from the inside
Nice!
Yo I noticed you got a bunch of cactus decor are you out of Arizona I’m planning on having a boat project to and I’m watching all ur videos lol
Can I use these products for saltwater
Yes
Nice
I need help I just built a 14 foot boat just like yours and I can’t figure out how to connect the transducer to the front area of the boat. I have min Kota terrnova and since they spin fully 360 you run the wire down to the front motor so I was wondering how you did it or works best for you

Can you install that decking material on the inside of aluminum compartment lids?
Yes, I do all the time!
@@TinyBoatNation I want it for the inside of a couple lids on my Lund. Just like a solid black or gray. Do you have that or can you tell me where and what stuff to get? Don’t want it peeling off. Thanks!
At least you were wearing your kill cord and a pfd 😅
good informative video. thanks.
What us the point if the water hoes? Do you have to pull them out after the foam?
I want to get my grandpas 12ft deep vee and do this put a radar tower over a 25hp with remote and use it as a tender for my sailboat take it all around the world
What was the final dry weight with trailer?
Is he saying "tactful"? If so he doesn't know what the word neans, but otherwise incredicle video and cool work!
Great video
