Christmas 1975: I was given the Mamod Steam Tractor. Dad and I had it in steam by mid-morning and sent it puffing away up our street to see how far it would go on a boilerful. It wasn't long before we had an audience. It seemed like most of the surrounding male population came out to watch. I still have the Mamod, and fire it up from time to time. Always think of that first run! :-)

I just to love the old mamod steam models i have always wish i could get one but i could not due to me living in the Caribbean.

I'm having some "fun" with Mamods myself right now. Actually I have 5 Mamod and Wilesco engines in various states of restoration.
Good idea to use an o ring. Great stuff! Would that be ok under the safety valve?
