Absolutely gorgeous!! This is a product I've not seen before - thank you for exposing me to its beauty and possibilities! Thank you, as well, for the in-depth comparison of finishing methods.
I love looking at beautiful art. I must say that you have a humongous imagination! I live in NM, so I enjoy bright colors. I have a deep love for your white and grey, white and blue works. It's very peaceful. Keep up the good work! KL.
Those quick cure resins shrink as they cure so they will curl and pull up on the thin pieces. To avoid that either use thinner coats or a slower curing resin like Ultradome. To fix one that has cured, you can usually just put a coat on the back and it will curl the other way and straighten it out.
Absolutely Divine! What colors! I can't even begin to decide which one I like best. I am so glad you tested it on the white clay too...I was wondering how that would look. I do like it on the black best. I want to try some on the Inchies I am making from your excellent "Tiny Textured Tiles" PDF Tutorial. I might experiment by using the Flakes on the background area first. Can you put a link to that Tutorial for a friend of mine? I wanted to do it, but couldn't figure out how. Thanks for showing us another fun project!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I can't wait to buy new colors and begin blending them together. They are really beautiful. Here is a link to my Tiny Tiles tutorial www.etsy.com/listing/462312119/tiny-textured-tiles-a-polymer-clay-pdf Thank you for sharing it with your friend! If you are going to try using these flakes as your background on the tiles you make, you may want to save that as the last step before baking. I haven't tried that with these metallic flakes yet but, when you apply something to the surface of raw clay, such as powdered pigments or (I am assuming) the Lumiere Luster flakes, the clay you try to add on top of this will not stick well. You can brush on a thin layer of liquid clay to the area you are going to add clay to, but this usually affects the shine and appearance of the pigments. Experiment first!
