    There's no trademarking because, if you notice, there's no reference to Mad Max whatsoever on the package. It's just a Ford Falcon with some custom bits, right? :)
    Thanks to your reviews I headed out to Amazon and bought myself the 1:64 and 1:24. 1:18 will need to wait a bit. I've been waiting for an affordable Interceptor diecast for *years*.

      And it's George Miller, the director that holds the trademarks to all the Max stuff. He's very guarded about what is licensed from the films.

    You were correct the XB Falcon were produced from 1973-76 the XA was 1972 -73 XC was 1976-78 and the Landau which was used in the Road Warrior(Mad Max II) as the villain car in the opening chase scene was also based on the Falcon Coupe shell. The real Landau were made 1973-76 like the XB but less than 1400 cars were built over that time. So they are very rare.

    I had to double check mine for the white lettering on the tires... and mine has it! ... There must be two versions of this 1:64 - with and without white lettering. I know the early 1:18 had NO lettering and later releases had the white lettered tires. Perhaps the later run of the 1:64 had the same production variance ? Either way, gorgeous treatment on BOTH scales by Greenlight! Just wish the large scale had the opening hood !

    I really, REALLY hope Greenlight makes the MM2/Road Warrior version of the Interceptor in a future series, but the lack of any MM trademarks on the packaging makes me doubtful. :(

    There is also a 1/64 scale diecast car based on the car max drives in the recent Mad max video game. "The Ripper".
    Think it was an exclusive with the game at some American video games store. The car looks to be based on the Ford Falcon, but it has the bits of armor on it that the player collected throughout the video game. Its really cool and a nice addition to the 1/64 Mad max cars you already have in your collection.

      @Pedal2Metal_on_YouTube  7 років тому +1

      Hello, yes, I have seen that 1/64 car you are referring to; I'll most likely buy one sometime off ebay. Thanks for reminding me about that car & thanks for watching/commenting!

      Pedal2Metal.
      No problem my friend. Subbed. Love your vids and you passion for the cars.
      Yeah definitely worth grabbing one of the mad max game cars for your collection. I'd get one sooner rather than later though. As you already know anything Mad Max related seems to shoot up in price very rapidly. At the moment they're still pretty reasonably priced. Im in the UK, so its the large postage costs that always kill me. Most stuff i buy comes from America, and the p&p is always high.
      Can you by any chance recommend a decent retailer to pre order the new Autoart 1/18 scale mad max interceptor from ? Im a bit sceptical about ebay, because a lot of Japanese sellers have it listed for pre order, but the release dates they all quote in their listings are actually the release dates for the 1/18 greenlight interceptor. Lol.
      I was thinking about Monsters in motion. Ive read bad reviews on them, but a few years back i did actually buy a pretty expensive item from them myself and it arrived in perfect order.

      @Tony-1971 7 років тому

      Argyros Vivum
      Yeah youre correct. One of the car bodies you can put on the magnum opus in the game is the same shape as the interceptor. They called it Wild-Hunt in game. And thats the one they modelled the 1/64 diecast car on.
      You are right though. In the game you don't get the interceptor back until the end.
      I cant remember if the 1/64 diecasts car says The magnum opus on the packaging or The Ripper. Im pretty sure it says the ripper. But the 1/64 diecast is definitely the Wild hunt car body shape. I was blown away with the Video game. Mad Max the video game is awesome. I wish the developers would make 'a sequel, or a prequel.

      Pedal2Metal ordered it for a total of £11.49 including p+p, I thought that was pretty reasonable. I'm probably going to want another at some point to customise. But a straight interceptor is better than none.

    I love them both. The ACE one has a nicer lower stance though in my opinion. And the shiny charger and pipes.
    The greenlight is lovely, but i think it sits very high on the suspension.. I wonder what it would look like with the front end lowered. I notice greenlight did a version with green wheels. Its really expensive for some reason. I dont know why.

    • @Pedal2Metal_on_YouTube
      @Pedal2Metal_on_YouTube  7 років тому +1

      Yea, I don't quite understand the whole "chase" cars thing w/ green wheels etc. I personally do not collect them, but I know people love them. Thanks again for watching/commenting!

    • @Tony-1971
      @Tony-1971 7 років тому +1

      Yeah i looked at the green wheeled version and decided not to bother trying to get one. It looks pretty cool, but obviously the back wheeled version is much better because its like the movie version. Keep up the great work mate. Fantastic videos.

    • @Anth230
      @Anth230 7 років тому

      AESCULAPTORmark3 Well the green machine version is more expensive because it's very rare. Greenlight does this with all their casting. It's a Chase piece and collectors want them for the rarity and eventual resell value....

    • @Tony-1971
      @Tony-1971 7 років тому +1

      Yeah. Its not really a money thing for me personally. I collect only because i love real cars and i like to look at the small scale replicas of those real world cars. I have some that have increased in value, but i never think of them as money or investment.
      To me they are just beautiful ornaments, small replicas of something that i love in life, cars. Nothing wrong with people making money out of it i guess. People invest in all kinds of stuff.

  • @thunder230mph6
    @thunder230mph6 7 років тому

    For the US fans of the Mad Max franchise who are desperate for a model of the V8 Interceptor and can't afford or wait to have one shipped all the way from Australia, in my opinion, the Greenlight model is better than nothing, and an added plus is that it's all diecast, therefore it has a lot more flexibility than the resin models which are usually more delicate and only really good for static display.

    • @Anth230
      @Anth230 7 років тому

      Nitro 89 Well the greenlight is the first ever 1/64 diecast of the car. So it's pretty much a.must have. The Ace is great also but it's not diecast and super fragile. They both have their pros and cons and both are worthy of having in a collection. But for 6 bucks the Green can't be beat Imo....

    • @thunder230mph6
      @thunder230mph6 7 років тому

      I'll tell you a story about my search for a V8 Interceptor after seeing all 3 films: To be honest, a few years ago, I actually looked into the ACE model of this car and I really didn't care if it was resin or not, but unfortunately I found that no sellers here in the US stocked them, so I was forced to throw in the towel on the hunt. Then, of course, this year GLC announced releasing a Mad Max V8 Interceptor in their "Hollywood" series and that restored my hopes of obtaining a replica of this legendary car for my collection.

    • @Pedal2Metal_on_YouTube
      @Pedal2Metal_on_YouTube  7 років тому

      It is awesome in person once you get it out of the pack! Hopefully I can find some in stores.... but I have my doubts. The ACE one is cool but, yea, I wouldn't do it again if the GL would have been available at the time when I ordered the ACE set. (The ACE mfp sedan is SICK though too!) I'll be converting my extra GL car into a MM2 car & making a video of the process. Thanks for watching & commenting!

    • @thunder230mph6
      @thunder230mph6 7 років тому

      Oh, I forgot to add that upon seeing the new GL model of this car being released, I was overjoyed for 2 reasons:
      1. I wouldn't have to order or wait for one to be shipped all the way from Australia and I would save a lot of money on shipping and customs fees, etc.
      2. The fact that it's diecast instead of plastic means it will last a lot longer and I wouldn't have to worry about anything breaking off.

    • @Pedal2Metal_on_YouTube
      @Pedal2Metal_on_YouTube  7 років тому

      Yea, the ACE cars are cool but super fragile and are to be locked away from little ones, thats for sure! I bought two sets of the ACE cars so I could try & recoup my shipping expenses etc.

      First Falcon was 1960. mad max body style (Falcon XB) was 1973 to 1975. Ford Australia had spent 10 years getting the Falcon from fragile import to australia's best all-round sedan, then Ford USA stopped production in 1970, so they decided to go it alone in 1971 (Falcon XA)

    The greenlight tail light area and spoilers are too little in proportion to the rest of the car and the back wheels should have been larger.
