Even though this may be the worst game... It is my favorite, it was my first project diva game and i fell in LOVE. I like how you can actually interact with the charters unlike in mega mix. I love unlocking the accessories and modules, but it is a short game.
Honestly even if this may be "The Worst" Hatsune Miku game, it is STILL FANTASTIC. I still love Diva X! And most can definitely agree that even while there wasn't much content, what WAS there was still super good! I loved the melodies too! I wish they stayed!
Definitely!! As much as I love Megamix, X will always have a place in my heart. Its so fun to mix up modules and even better, collecting them one by one. Im currently on the grind for Luka's costume for Ai Dee
Honestly i AGREE. I wish we could swap to X's graphic function in megamix! Because i believe the modules were absolutely superior in X! Especially just the default Miku looked fantastic!
Only dance pvs, no more edit mode, no more diva room, basically they removed what made the project diva series really interesting and replayable (especially edit mode why????)
Crypton admitted that they never feel like they could get the balance between budget, quantity and performance. And I feel like Diva X speaks in VOLUMES with this. It was super weird that they just cut out such KEY features from the game. And that Future tone would basically erase the story/interaction aspect aswell. Which was super unfortunate. Especially because i LOVE these games!
@@CherryCherub97it was the lack of an MP3 on the PS4 that made edit mode not come back Plus I doubt it’d be because of people making cursed content, it’s not like diva hasn’t had suggestive or strange songs included before
What’s really unfortunate is that Sega saw Diva X and said “seeing how this flopped the F series must no longer be popular” so they moved over and ported the Arcade cabinet version to console and eventually PC. It really sucks because even though the Arcade version is MUCH more challenging the F series has a lot of unique content and was a lot easier to digest and learn for newcomers to the series.
I don't actually believe Sega saw X as a flop, the reviews actually weren't bad and sales number for the Diva games individually have never been released publicly, though, X PS4 releasing after Future Tone JP may have affected the game a bit with the Vita version coming before Future Tone JP. I think from what I remembered, I believe the director or producer for the mainline series (PSP - X) left Sega at some point, leaving the series in a dormant state with no one able to fill in that spot. Take this with a grain of salt, it's hard to remember this knowledge without spending a bunch of time trying to dig up old sources. To comment on the Arcade version with my own opinion: I find the mainline titles gameplay to be far more interesting and has more depth than Arcade, even if Arcade has a higher difficulty ceiling and more songs, it lacks variety and depth compared to F/F2nd/X's gameplay mechanics and the sound feedback you get from different note types (arrows, holds, stars, double and linked stars, and rush notes). It's both easier for newcomers, while having the gameplay depth for veterans wanting more and to master the songs. It's why F2nd still has edits being made for it to this day.
EXACTLY THOUGH! Even IF Diva X might not have had the biggest reception, it's STILL very hard to call it BAD! Diva X still had a super super good song list! and still had a ton of great new versions of Miku, some pretty unique gameplay features like melodies, and even a soft story mode!
its kinda hard to make a bad miku game because the gameplay is basically untouched. there's only lacking miku games since regardless of how much songs, side content, customization, etc it'll still have good gameplay
My only issues with this game is Kaito and Meiko not having their own solos, and Kaito not being apart of any special medleys except for the first one, I really wanted him to be in the cute medley with Miku.
To me, something wrong with it was the new direction of PVs. In previous games, they were very animated and diverse, like looking into actual music videos. In Diva X, most (if not all) PVs felt like a concert recording, characters stuck to a stage...
I enjoy the stage aspect, but the actual MUSIC VIDEO part of the game is genuinely always super nice to see. Im not sure why Diva X took such a different approach. as i always felt like the super pretty/unique music videos were such a key part to the heart of the series!
The track list they did have was entirely fire for sure! I'm in love with the inclusion of my favorites Deep Sea Lily, Patchwork Staccato, Raspberry Monster, Hitorinbo Envy, Ai Dee, Mrs. Pumpkin's Comical Dream, and Babylon (and also hell yeah streaming heart) 😊 It was also my first time hearing Satisfaction and I loved her ugly-cute module.
YESSSSS DEEP SEA LILY! AND OOOO RASPBERRY MONSTER. Diva X absolutely had so many bangers! Like even if the LIST underdelivered in quantity, i couldnt even be that mad just because of how much i ENJOYED the songs in general ahaha. Also WOW Satisfaction! It has been a MINUTE. I'm legit going back to give it a listen right now! Seriously i wish we could see these songs again! (Thankfully mods exist hehe)
@@SekaiDreaming YESSSS I happened to have so many personal favorites that I already was a huge fan of before they even showed up in Project Diva that I just couldn't be as disappointed as anyone else HAHA
The thing that kills me is I just realized, MEIKO is a singer in only two songs in that game, and one of those songs (Amazing Dolce) was actually commissioned FOR the game. I can see what they mean when they talk about the other Vocaloids being underutilized, I’m used to MEIKO being less popular but that’s insane
Yeah Diva X took this weird turn where they may have focused TOO MUCH on Miku! Obviously she is the main reason you buy the game. But when you have SUCH a limited track list, it just feels so odd to make the others feel so UNAPPRECIATED!
@@SekaiDreaming yeah... Even despite his limited tracklist, I have still used him far more than any other character. Go off Kaito, go sing in that beautiful Hatsune Miku voice impression of yours!!! You definitely have more than one song as long as I believe in you!!
I dont really understand how we just... Couldnt have both? I think that what might really happen is that we will see some sort of future game that will still BE a rhythm game but also be a new franchise. Sorta like how Sekai was! (Absolutely tons of hopium)
honestly agreed. dont get me wrong, proseka is great, and i REALLY like the original characters, but i don’t think its worth giving up project diva for
If it wasn't for the small track list on release, I wouldn't mind the small amount of DLC content. If anything I despise DLCs and I see no reason for them to not simply be added to the base game as an update.
Yes! Plus the stages were sadly lacking in enthusiasm. As many of the songs were concert themed instead of focusing on the traditional music video format. Which got a LOT of push back. Its like Sega sorta gave up too early? If they continued to push it more, and gave some free content updates, im sure the fan reception would have been better!
I have Mega Mix and even the 100 or so songs they put on it just seems so little. I dont play every song so that probably makes it seem really small but my biggest issue is getting more songs. Its like $7 to get three or five songs and theres usually only one or two i like from the pack. I wish they had put more songs in it and, even though they probably cant, i wish they regularly added new songs
@@frostyelwood9898 It's most definitely overpriced for just a few songs. I'm very displeased that they decided to stick with scummy anti-consumer practices until the very end of the franchise, just to ditch it for an even more predatory model (that being gacha). That's why it simply doesn't move me when people try to push a Diva vs Sekai narrative. At the end of the day neither of them currently respect my time or money. I care about producers first and foremost. I don't care for the idol-like marketing of the Crypton VBs.
The only thing I didn't like about the game was the lack of songs that include other Vocaloids, plus Len only received solo songs that were a little questionable to put it in some way (Although I can't deny that they are great, especially Holy lance explosion boy, and I also really enjoyed his appearance in Amazing dolce), but other than that, the game is great and fun, I even almost cried at the end because I managed to complete Ultimate Medley and it was very exciting.
I think that Diva X just had the WORST grinding loop. It's not fun TIRELESSLY spamming the story in hopes of getting that one certain module. BUT the song list was INCREDIBLE. And was personally a great upgrade in the style! I loved how the modules looked in X!
I really do love what was in Diva X, and modding the song list into my copy of megamix+ was an awesome decision. I didn't realize how controversial the game actually was in the eyes of the fans
SAME HEREEEE! Diva X has SO MANY great songs! And even if with Project Diva going quiet, the modding community is thankfully ALIVE AND WELL! ALSO even with the controversy of it not being "as good", most fans will STILL agree it wasnt a BAD game! Pretty much all of the Project games in general have been well received. even after the backlash of low songs, there was STILL plenty of great reasons to enjoy Diva X!
I didn't even think of modding tracklists from other games into megamix+, but I will be doing that tomorrow now that you've put the idea in my head; thank you, kind stranger, for reminding me that it is in fact a PC game and PC games can be modded.
I love it so much as the shorter track list made me a huge fan of so many of these songs! I love the fact that I have to play different challenges to unlock modules! It was my first project diva game so of course it holds a special place in my heart but smt about it feels so home like
I just came across your content and this is sad... I did notice that X had such a small songlist but most of the Miku songs I loved were there so I was ready to forgive (Umiyuri Kaiteitan, Patchwork Staccato, Hitorinbo Envy). Still, you're right... the songlist WAS shockingly small compared to the f series. Really sad.
To think that most of this game's song roster never made it to MM+ (Hand In Hand and LOL Lots of Laugh were Arcade Future Tone songs, while The First Sound was way back in PD2nd)
I love Project Diva X, it was a great game for PS4 and PS Vita. It squished the graphics of both consoles and the songs were good. It attempted to have a story mode and more interaction with the characters. People hated it and now people are saying the franchise is dead which is very funny. All this hate to the game made us have Project Sekai
This game will always have a special, custom ordered pedestal in my heart for being the very thing to introduce me to Vocaloid. (Funny enough it was a complete accident since I mistook it for Idol Master being new to rhythm games and not knowing the difference😅)
WOWWW I guess i could see that! Especially with how the games have somewhat similar art styles! Honestly even with the pushback, its still considered to be a good game! I absolutely loved the tracklist and all the modules!
diva x had some really great songs and mechanics, but executed it VERY poorly. Like, if they had double the song count and actually went the route like f and f2nd did with story-based MVs instead of stage-based MVs and brought back edit mode, it would've been a much better success. Sadly project diva content is down the drain.
I definitely agree with ALL of this. I think a huge pull away was definitely the grind. I dont mind grinding mechanics. Infact, a lot of times i ENJOY having something to work for. BUT Diva X unfortunately did NOT have a fun module obtainment system. and having to CONSTANTLY play the same songs over and over for module drops was super super boring! STILL i absolutely loved Diva X's songs! and if they had just taken more of Mirai and F 2nd's roster, i think fans would have been fine with it!
Its hard for them to having more song on PDX, Bcs of the "medley track". They need to license 5 song + 1 commission artist to remix them for 1 medley. On total they license almost 25 song + 5 commission artist for remixing 5 medley. Its certainly not cheap for them to commission in total of 50 song + commission 5 artist (25 reguler + 25 medley). Its a fresh idea to implement medley, but cost-wise, bad idea. They never even make another medley for PJSekai, they only commission artist to make song (which is cheaper than licensing + remixing 5 song)
they couldn't implement edit mode since the game was ported to ps4, which is not a multimedia platform unlike ps3. i also don't think they would make a whole feature exclusively to a dying platform like vita
@@summerloaver ig, the vita was a thing that existed but even then there still was a lot of leftover code of those assets that just fill up space, even then with future tone and mm for the switch having those files for those consoles WITH edit mode data in them I'm still pretty shocked. X had such interesting gameplay mechanics that could be used in edit mode but it was just sadly not there.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH. There was so many GREAT songs that are just sorta... stuck! Especially the previous modules! I think that Mega mix really should have double downed and gave us EVERYTHING. atleast as a future dlc!
The thing that makes me the saddest, is that they never added most or those songs to arcade, and there are so many bangers like: calc, streaming heart, lost one weeping, love song, strangers(jesus christ I love strangers ), and many others
Honestly, I prefer Project Diva X over Future Tone. We have the option to interact with the vocaloids, photo mode, new modules and accessories, and great song list. The only thing I didn't like was the story mode. I mean, sure, the track list is short. But I'd rather have new songs than ports of the same game. (Talking about you, Mega Mix) Overall, I love PD X, and I think it deserves more attention. Also, maybe it's because I'm not used to the charts in Future Tone and Mega Mix. I've mostly played Project Diva F, F 2nd, and Project Diva X more than the other games. I enjoyed the old ones more.
Completing the story (which you had to do to unlock the Ultimate Medley) and getting modules were teeth-pulling exercises that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Also the way the PVs got utterly flattened had me so crestfallen. I was so excited to see Slowmotion, a goofy absurdist song with meta undertones get adapted... And then it got turned into the most boring PV I've ever seen. I also love Streaming Heart but why god did they put it in the Quirky category what part of an abusive relationship is quirky Sega please enlighten me 😭
For me it was the lack of songs for other characters and the fact that unlocking modules sucked. It was all randomized so either you get a new module or one you already have. And when you have only one more left to get....it gets very frustrating.
This. I can't believe more people aren't mentioning it. I couldn't unlock a good amount of the modules despite trying all the tips and tricks at my disposal because I kept getting the same ones I already had over and over and over. I eventually gave up but I put way too much time into this game to not even have most of the modules
As an old player I think PDF2nd is the perfect one for the song list, and the edit mode 😩 But I like PDX for the gacha-grind type of mechanic, to keep the excitement for each module drop. And of course the way that it has a story and we can interact with the vocaloids themselves. (Not just on rooms)
Idk I loved project diva x I love all the games lol, and I know people didn’t like the static being on stage PVs but I like that it looked like ur own lil concert. I wish they’d put the songs from X into future tone tho X did have a bunch of good songs 💙
The way it was back then is that F2nd had a really high replayability because it allowed community generated content(custom charts) The tracklist became a problem specifically because it was the first time since the first Diva(I believe) that the community was presented with a very limited game, another issue was the monotone PV‘s, before there was a healthy mix of concertlike and storylike PV. X basically initated the downfall of Diva but thankfully pc folks were dedicated and made mods to get the community experience back
"Project DIVA X is widely known to be the worst Hatsune Miku game"... Hey, we still have Sekai To be serious, X was a failed experiment, but it had it's potential though. It's very sad that Sega gave up on series just because of one fail (As we know that they decided to make "DIVA's susuccessor" around this time, so I guess it was because of X's failure)
It's absolutely heartbreaking that Project Diva is over. but the best part is, if you have PC, you can STILL enjoy the active modding community! Custom modules, song packs, all of that! So atleast we have some sort of way to continue it! But yes. Unfortunately Project Sekai seems to be it for right now. I dont dislike Sekai (shamefully a gacha gamer ahaha) but im also not a big mobile gamer... BUT there is always hope for more games in some fashion like this down the road! Im sure of it!
I beg to differ, we got Babylon, another tohma song included. By far the luckiest we will get. If we could get another samfree song that would be near impossible…
After buying this, my first Hatsune Miku game ever, for the Steam Summer Sale. Thoroughly enjoying it for a week, clicks on random video, 'People say this is their worst game." -__-
Diva x also just has a bunch of more obscure songs in comparison that are only on the x version which makes me sad. Like i wanna play streaming heart on the other diva games 😭
1 of the issues I had was because when you did the medley (ex: Beginning Medley), It didn't feature full songs in the concert, just like 30 seconds to a minute of a song and then a new song, I think that's one of the reasons why people didn't really like the game, the music was great nonetheless, but they could've tried more, even Project DIVA F and F2nd had more songs and DIVA Rooms where you could actually play minigames with them and watch them do whatever they want, but in X, they just stare at you and get bored easily
seems like Sega hated it too since they never brought any of the songs to Arcade/FT Or, more likely, they were just done with the series at that point. They've all but confirmed that Project Diva is dead because Sekai makes more money. Which is sad because Sekai just doesn't hit the same... At least we have MM+ and tons of great mods by people who still like the game
Ah, the first Miku game I played. The first rhythm game, too. My friend let me borrow it, cause it was still $50 everywhere. Yeah, I was mad most songs were by Miku, but got over that pretty quickly.
I love this game, but I hate how some of the events you have to do on expert cuz I may be pretty great at rhythm games, but expert mode is my enemy. I’d like to choose normal mode for the events. And, I love Miku, but I’d also would love to have more songs with the others, but the songs are pretty catchy so I’m not too upset about it. Can’t really hate anything with Vocaloids :3
X feels very exclusive when it comes to the package as a whole. Though it could have been executed better, the features stand out enough compared to the other games. I still wish some of those songs made it to future installments.
SAME THOUGH. Diva X is farrr from being an actual bad game. More like it was just simply not appreciated correctly. They mad big moves with the game that could have been further developed later on! and its just sad to see how much just feels... lost!
PDX is my personal favourite entry of the series, the tracklist while small, prioritizes quality over quantity, the visuals of PDXDH specifically are the best that diva has ever looked, while yes the grinding and story are not the best, i find the cloud requests are much more fun then the normal gameplay.
I just wish they'd port the damn songs on diva X that aren't on future tone so I could play them on one game without having to switch titles. It's not like people wouldn't buy the songs as dlc, I own every dlc for every Miku game that's been dropped in the states. We'd buy it, if they'd just sell it to us. FFS.
I... LOVED... edit mode. The interactions and editing were definitely my favorite additions of the older games! Unfortunately, supposedly they stopped allowing this due to either lack of "focus" on the theme of the game, or the more likely reason, that creators were making inappropriate edits. WHICH HURTS... They could have fixed that easily!
For me doesn't exist a bad Diva. Every game is very accurate. At the beginning I didn't love X because of the absence of story MV but when I played the game I literally love it. I loved to complete the challenge for every songs and to find the perfect module combination to get an high voltage. My favourite diva is f but if sega will do an X2nd I'll buy it for sure 😍
absolutely! I dont think a bad Project Diva really exists! I mean even looking at the reviews, you can see that it still isnt NEGATIVE, just that it was the least appreciated! X made a lot of big moves forward. And while i think the grinding was just... super not fun, i still enjoyed having something to earn! And the modules we saw in the game are still some of my favorites to date!
My memory might be fuzzy but I think there was a new person in charge of directing X at the time which led to the failure of Diva X. There were many songs that were easy to complete on expert so it wasn’t much of a challenge. Not only that but the absence of edit mode was one of the worst things to ever be taken out since fans wouldn’t be able to share their own creative PVs. They took it out bcus of some storage issue. The concept of the "clouds" from X is most likely the what led to the basis for the "Sekai" in proseka. I also agree with the lack of songs & the list being short. These are just some thoughts that I wanted to share. Project Diva has been with me the longest so it has a special place in my heart.
They did have a pretty banger song list even if it was lacking. What grinds my gears the most about it though was the gatcha models?? You can’t just unlock them you have to gatcha it on songs. I never understood that
I’d honestly pick X over the arcade ports any day. The arcade ones just don’t feel as nice to play, I guess since they were made for an arcade controller first? It’s kinda the case with a lot of rhythm games that got console/pc ports т-т
The songs and their PVs is what I love most about this game, it is ashame that SEGA neglects this games existence after the backlash. I love Project Diva X
personally, i ADORE project diva x even with the small song list (not disagreeing with the short btw)!! i mentioned this in a recent video of mine, but i think that compared to games with long song lists, project diva x benefitted from each song feeling like a special and crucial component to the game. whereas lesser known songs don’t have much room to shine in future tone, they get a TON more spotlight in x!!! plus, while the missions and grinding requirements may not be perfect, they definitely make the gameplay more interesting as opposed to future tone’s free play
THIS RIGHT HERE. Is exactly how i ultimately feel! The tracklist in Diva X is unfortunately short. and i really wish that it could have received better support afterwards. BUT even with that said, i absolutely loved all the songs that we DID get! I think they tried some new ideas that just didnt really pan out. Some would even say that these very ideas is what helped MAKE seki in the first place! ahaha
Even if it is the least popular Diva game, I wonder why they never ported the songs and modules to Future Tone or Mega39's. They said Diva isn't making them enough money anymore, but is porting some songs and outfits really that expensive?
YESSSS KITTY SPEAKS THE TRUTTTHHHH! And what about GUMI? Where is our queen? Seriously, imagine a project diva game with songs like Echo, circles, etc!
@@queendiscombra Ah sadly very true. I forget that Gumi and flower are unfortunately not under Crypton. Though i would LOVE some sort of joint collab somewhere down the road!
I dont necessarily dislike Project Sekai! I appreciate the events, and how we continue to get some FANTASTIC new Miku variants! Im just not a big mobile gamer (atleast in terms of actually BEING on a phone. Emulation for the win haha) But I also hate the fact that the series is being STAGNATED like this. I really hope that we see another BIG Hatsune Miku game hit the scene soon! Maybe with the new Switch releasing, it might land some extra encouragement!
Project DIVA X is what made me start hating Miku. Not Vocaloids as a whole, just Miku. It made me realize just how little the other Vocaloids get in comparison to Sega's golden child, Miku. Especially Kaito and Meiko. I'll forever be salty about Miku having the number 1 on her arm when Meiko was the first Japanese vocaloid followed by Kaito.
... That's because she's the first Vocaloid *made* by Crypton. They merely distributed MEIKO and KAITO. I understand wanting more content for them but this is a ridiculous complaint lol
Honestly in my opinion PDX is not that bad, the model looks nice and more new model too, the new gameplay mechanic such as singing a song with different background which kinda nice Some nice songs and the concert mechanic But it would be cool if they make the character we choose really singing the song instead of Miku, And miku again Like the game is literally just for miku… i know it’s called Hatsune Miku project diva X for some reason… then at least give some more spot light for Rin, Len, Luka, Kaito and Meiko in the game but mostly give Kaito some attention more And the game would be nice if they added some of the feature such as interaction mode from project diva F and adding all the songs to PDX i guarantee that this game will be praised so much if they did this 😅
At the time of PDXs release I had only played PD F2nd and a little of the arcade game I was pretty excited for this game. I wasn't good at them but I still enjoyed playing and listening to the songs. I had a lot of fun with this one. Loved the models for Miku and Luka. Later on, PS4 VR function was announced and I tried it out at a friend's house that had VR and was fun being able to watch Miku perform almost in the same room I really liked this game
My most hate on this game was no edit mode. I love playing other songs and crazy ones. (Also Blame the PS4 for losing access to store music files like the PS3 does.)
I remember how little love it got back then. But I still don't get it to this day. I enjoyed the heck out of it. I thought it having a story mode was actually pretty cool. I literally bought a PS4 JUST for this game back then. But you're totally right, KAITO, MEIKO, Rin and Len definitely needed more songs or their own in the game. Like Fraulein Bibliotecca and Doctor Funk Beat.
As you can see with the score it's not "hated", just "less appreciated". And personally I agree, I've played all of them since their release in Japanese. For me one major issue is that Project Diva f was too perfect, I played it on PS3 and Vita even after scoring perfects in EX on everything and I still listen to 80% of the songs even today (12 years later). Project Diva X was out 4 years after f but has a lot less content and imo less epic songs. When I played it day one I didn't hate but I was kinda disappointed, I was like "meh" and put it back in its box after 2 or 3 days. I even started playing back the 1 and 2 on PSP but not this one to be honest...
Project Diva F and F 2nd were INCREDIBLY good. They honestly at the end of the day sorta put way TOO MUCH into them because they ended up failing to meet that quality later on! Its one of the main reasons why Crypton is moving away from Project Diva unfortunately. Because they struggle to keep making the games better, or that they end up hitting this wall where the quality doesnt live up to par. Which is so sad!
Diva X was my first Miku game, and I dont ever regret playing it. I honestly think the storyline with the crystals and voltage was such a fun concept. The random modules that drop was also a fun thing too.
How I got started in the series. My ex is a big Miku fan so I bougt her the games on PS4 and Vita. Then like my childhood girlfriend with DDR, when she got stuck she asked for my help. Turns out I'm quite good at rhythm games. Also, Satisfaction is best song, it being stuck only in Diva X and not in games like Megamix Plus outside of mods for the Steam Deck version is CRIMINAL.
AHHH HONESTLY ITS OKAY! Legit even with the backlash it still is constilled a GREAT Hatsune miku game! Just that it isn't appreciated as much as the others! Honestly the graphics and the songs that were in the game were SOOOO GOOD!! Plus you got fun version of miku that never returned! Like Lollipop miku!
@@SekaiDreaming The different special cloud outfits went so hard I'm pretty sure they still use rin and len's cool clouds for concerts It also quite literally set the stage for sekai with the cloud idea lol
I actually played this game not too long ago, though with only a small list of songs, It contains all of my favorite so i can't hate it! Ms. pumpkin song on top lmao
This was my first miku game and is still my favorite so many fond memories I also just like the thrill of getting a Radom skin instead of buying which ever one you wanted just not as fun.
I started with F1 and F2 pn the ps3 and I remember being so excited and hyped when I watched the trailor for this game. I personally really liked the Module unlocking mechanic and the Quirky, Cute, Cool, Elegant, Classic, themes for songs
Project Diva X was my first Project Diva game (not including Project Mirai DX, which was my first Vocaloid game) and, being a 12 year old, I loved it, despite it not having that many songs... After so many years I still have not completely finished it despite putting so many hours into it haha
Project Diva X does have my favorite tracklist though, and it's sad none of the songs got transferred to other games. And I really like that they added English subtitles rather than just Romaji.
Back then i dont have the console for diva x and i was young, i dont have money to buy games. I DREAMED of playing diva X, i watch youtube videos and dream that one day I will be able to play it myself. Fast forward to today, i bought megamix on nintendo, and on PC too. I downloaded diva X mod and loving it. its like dream comes true. I think diva X has the prettiest models, prettiest stages, very good song lists (most of the songs are my favourite songs)
It was my very first project diva game and I loved it however my main issue is that I would watch the PV'S on UA-cam and wanted to see it myself on X only to see just them dancing on a singular stage 😭
I only play Project Sekai so can't comment that game. But what I can say is I always love game about Hatsune Miku.I love all game have Hatsune Miku in it❤❤❤❤❤❤ no matter how bad or how good the game is.❤❤❤❤❤❤
And that all is ABSOLUTELY FINE! Dont let anyone tell you different! You are a real Hatsune Miku fan! Honestly even with the criticism that Diva X got, it still is commonly seen as STILL GOOD! So it really just shows how solid all the Hatsune Miku games really are!
Despite the small track list, i actually really enjoyed most of them So much so that i ended up downloading a mod on my MegaMix+ just to play them. I especially love Underhanded Rangers / Name of the Sin ^^
Did we mention Len's only song is a sex song, lol. What the heck. Luka's song was so slow. I adored playing Calc though, and the gameplay was an amazing vibe, for all the tiny playlist. I remember playing raspberry monster and smashing the buttons. It was Amazing! And some of the cute stages were done very well. Not to mention the mixes slapped. Oh! And Lost Ones Weeping lol. Yaaaaaas.
The song choices, few as they were, were great, and the game had pretty models and several good ideas. But cutting out several of the things people enjoyed about the F series, without the changes Arcade had, felt like a big step backwards. I loved Medleys, but why not add in the feature from Mirai of letting you swap the vocals around? Being able to change the stage is cool, but why did that mean limiting the camera work so much more than previous dance PVs in the entire DIVA series? The idea of categorizing the songs into Clouds of different vibes was fun, but how were we supposed to really get a feel of that vibe with only 4 songs before the medley, pretty much all of which are Miku despite the Story claiming the others are teaching her? The models looked great for an HD version of the F style, but why remove the head swapping, why not add more/better accessories, and why was Miku the only one given a good amount? And why did all the characters get outfits for every Cloud's medley if they weren't going to be included anywhere in them? Again, the vocal swapping could have made that choice make sense. I struggled to continue playing X after unlocking the final song and its outfit, despite going back to Arcade, Mirai, and even F2nd much more.
Honestly Diva X is STILL a great game! I still love and enjoy it! Even though the game may have had a lack of support and songs, the music that WAS there was absolutely PERFECT! Plus X had some of my FAVORITE modules in the project Diva series! LIKE LOLLIPOP MIKUUU!
While not the best game in the series, I do believe that X is overhated. Supposedly Sega fired the OG team behind the previous DIVA games and had entirely new devs for X. Hence why it felt "off" It wasn't a bad game by any means! It just was a little dissapointing. People were expecting the status quo F had set... and when they got something else they turned on it. A good portion of the songs are forever trapped on X, mainly the medleys/mashups. They got some big names to make mashups! Cosmo, Giga, Mitchie M.... I do wish Sega would take account that there is demand for a new project diva game, but they're a business and will continue to prioritize money over their fans. Sekai makes more money than all the DIVA games put together :(
I totally agree with this, it may be the worst Project DIVA game, but it’s still a Project DIVA game, which means it’s good and I still loved playing it, LOL I feel like some people force the hate a little too hard, I met one fan who said “the only good song in it was Slow Motion,” and I wanted to slap them silly for saying that when Hitorinbo Envy, The Lost One’s Weeping, Brain Revolution Girl and Streaming Heart were RIGHT THERE I loved almost every song, even if there wasn’t a crazy amount, but what I HATED was the boring story mode full of missed potential, the tedious grinding required to progress, the stupid module drop mechanic that makes it totally possible for you to play the game for YEARS and still have a huge chunk of modules still not unlocked, Extreme charts sometimes being insultingly easy, and the Free Play mode giving you absolutely nothing for playing it
The only reasons I didn’t like it was because of how small of music choices it had as well as the technical zones. I’m so thankful the newer games don’t have technical zones anymore
It’s my favorite mainly due to nostalgia since it was the first Project Diva game I ever got. And like I don’t know, it may not be the best game ever but it still hits in my opinion. I like that it introduced some new mechanics, plus I liked the small bit of story it had. It was fun in its own way and I think it deserves more credit than it gets. Plus it had such banger songs tbh
Diva X was my first diva game and its still one of my favorites, yes, the track list is small but all the songs in the game are so good. A lot of my favorite vocaloid songs were ones featured in this game.
I liked a lot the game, i still miss the console version of the gameplay of Project Diva, but yeah, in attempt to make it different the skin farming is akward and uncomfortable comparing it to just win credits and buy the skins, the lack of songs makes it very easily dropable and the Project Diva Arcade appeared in PS4 and then the 39 for Switch and PC turning itself into the last nail on the coffin of the game...
I mean half the reason i love these games is simply dressing up Miku and enjoying the music videos ahaha. Which you can still atleast enjoy SOME OF THAT online! STILL THOUGH if you have a switch, or maybe a computer, definitely grab Mega 39's! IT IS WORTH IT!
@@SekaiDreaming I do have both pc and switch, but the only rhythm games i have played are Stepmania and beat saber. The dress up part would be fun if you get to look down. Thankfully youtube has provided me some of that :)
Diva X is beautiful. It is my favorite next to F2nd. The game is gorgeous, the tracklist fucks, and the presentation is pretty damn good. Its just a shame it got muddled down in gacha mechanics and easy charting.
Honestly? X is my second favourite in the series (with F2nd being the absolute best in the series imo) - X has MASSIVE potential and is so damn promising, but it does not quite live up to it (although the tracklist is FANTASTIC, it just needed more diversity in the voicebanks used)
THIS. PREACH. Diva X honestly had really solid graphics! I loved the module designs a lot. and have really became an iconic look. or at least in my mind! The track list may have been small. Especially after the huge BANGER of F 2nd. But even with that said, the track list in general was absolutely PERFECT! And there was just so many classics in it that i will always look fondly at!
Yesss, the fact that you had a "story" was amazing, you actually had to play to win new modules and it was exciting
Definitely!! As much as I love Megamix, X will always have a place in my heart. Its so fun to mix up modules and even better, collecting them one by one. Im currently on the grind for Luka's costume for Ai Dee

Especially because i LOVE these games!
they did not want to add a edit mode again, because players would make weird pvs,for example showing miku's panties.
@@guestisleepyI heard it was actually because unlike the PS3, the PS4 didn't have the capability to transfer music files for some reason.
ALL OF MY HOMIES FUCKING MISS EDIT MODE. I HAVE A JILLION MVS I HANDMADE WITH MY SOUL IN F 2ND AT LEAST ;;
@@CherryCherub97it was the lack of an MP3 on the PS4 that made edit mode not come back
Plus I doubt it’d be because of people making cursed content, it’s not like diva hasn’t had suggestive or strange songs included before
What’s really unfortunate is that Sega saw Diva X and said “seeing how this flopped the F series must no longer be popular” so they moved over and ported the Arcade cabinet version to console and eventually PC.
An average of 7.4 is still insane! It just proves how consistent the Miku games are
EXACTLY THOUGH!
Yeah, even the very first Diva game had some variations in MVs and weren't all just dance videos
this is true but I really like the PV in this game
If I'm not incorrect in my counting, Kaito only had one... The two of them are always getting underutilized 😔
@@vercedia Which is just... WEIRD. considering just how big Kaito's fanbase really is!

As a future tone player, i wouldn't mind X If you weren't forced to play easy mode to unlock other difficulties. Just let me do the story on Ex -_-
I think that Diva X just had the WORST grinding loop.

Imagine they added the songs in x to arcade future tone after x released
SERIOUSLY THOUGH. There was so many GREAT songs that are just sorta... stuck!
Especially the previous modules! I think that Mega mix really should have double downed and gave us EVERYTHING. atleast as a future dlc!
There are community patches for the arcade rip, that add the diva x songs.
The thing that makes me the saddest, is that they never added most or those songs to arcade, and there are so many bangers like: calc, streaming heart, lost one weeping, love song, strangers(jesus christ I love strangers ), and many others
Project Diva X was my first one and it’s my favorite because of that 🩷🩷
Honestly, I prefer Project Diva X over Future Tone.

But I like PDX for the gacha-grind type of mechanic, to keep the excitement for each module drop.
The way it was back then is that F2nd had a really high replayability because it allowed community generated content(custom charts)
The tracklist became a problem specifically because it was the first time since the first Diva(I believe) that the community was presented with a very limited game, another issue was the monotone PV‘s, before there was a healthy mix of concertlike and storylike PV.
X basically initated the downfall of Diva but thankfully pc folks were dedicated and made mods to get the community experience back
"Project DIVA X is widely known to be the worst Hatsune Miku game"... Hey, we still have Sekai
To be serious, X was a failed experiment, but it had it's potential though. It's very sad that Sega gave up on series just because of one fail (As we know that they decided to make "DIVA's susuccessor" around this time, so I guess it was because of X's failure)
Are you saying project sekai is a bad game?
@@NovaShards_Scarlett Yep. Not gonna argue about that though

I always found the complaint of "too much miku" in a game called Hatsune Miku: Project Diva a wild complaint
It's not any different than the Sonic series. Yes, Sonic is the main character, but the fanbase cares about the rest of the cast too.
Like i wanna play streaming heart on the other diva games 😭
at least it introduced me to some of those songs, now hitorinbo envy is one of my favs
1 of the issues I had was because when you did the medley (ex: Beginning Medley), It didn't feature full songs in the concert, just like 30 seconds to a minute of a song and then a new song, I think that's one of the reasons why people didn't really like the game, the music was great nonetheless, but they could've tried more, even Project DIVA F and F2nd had more songs and DIVA Rooms where you could actually play minigames with them and watch them do whatever they want, but in X, they just stare at you and get bored easily
seems like Sega hated it too since they never brought any of the songs to Arcade/FT
Or, more likely, they were just done with the series at that point.
FFS.
For me it was the no edit mode. on F and f2nd i used to spend HOURRRRRSSSS on that mode and they just took it away from us ;(
I... LOVED...

I loved the graphics in Project Diva X better too!

I wish they were gonna give us more project diva games
god i miss the F visual style so much....
but yeah this game was kinda wack lol it's got a high quality list of songs at least! and the art style!
We need more Gakupo too😔💔
YESSSS KITTY SPEAKS THE TRUTTTHHHH!
And what about GUMI? Where is our queen?
Seriously, imagine a project diva game with songs like Echo, circles, etc!
@@SekaiDreaming Sadly the only one that had Gumi was Project Mirai, but don't get me wrong, i like Project Mirai gameplay
TBF, they dont have the rights to either iirc @@SekaiDreaming
@@queendiscombra Ah sadly very true. I forget that Gumi and flower are unfortunately not under Crypton.
Though i would LOVE some sort of joint collab somewhere down the road!
I wish Internet Co. would do a Project Diva esque game besides Megpoid the Music 😢
Project diva
Project mirai
*cough, cough* PROJECT SEKAI *cough cough*
I dont necessarily dislike Project Sekai! I appreciate the events, and how we continue to get some FANTASTIC new Miku variants!
Im just not a big mobile gamer (atleast in terms of actually BEING on a phone. Emulation for the win haha) But I also hate the fact that the series is being STAGNATED like this.
I really hope that we see another BIG Hatsune Miku game hit the scene soon! Maybe with the new Switch releasing, it might land some extra encouragement!
@@SekaiDreaming fitness boxing featuring miku is coming out in 2 months lmao
I like pjsk but I miss some focus on the actual vocaloids
Project DIVA X is what made me start hating Miku. Not Vocaloids as a whole, just Miku. It made me realize just how little the other Vocaloids get in comparison to Sega's golden child, Miku. Especially Kaito and Meiko. I'll forever be salty about Miku having the number 1 on her arm when Meiko was the first Japanese vocaloid followed by Kaito.
... That's because she's the first Vocaloid *made* by Crypton. They merely distributed MEIKO and KAITO. I understand wanting more content for them but this is a ridiculous complaint lol
Honestly in my opinion PDX is not that bad, the model looks nice and more new model too, the new gameplay mechanic such as singing a song with different background which kinda nice
Some nice songs and the concert mechanic
But it would be cool if they make the character we choose really singing the song instead of Miku, And miku again
Like the game is literally just for miku… i know it’s called Hatsune Miku project diva X for some reason… then at least give some more spot light for Rin, Len, Luka, Kaito and Meiko in the game but mostly give Kaito some attention more
And the game would be nice if they added some of the feature such as interaction mode from project diva F and adding all the songs to PDX i guarantee that this game will be praised so much if they did this 😅
Love what your dojng with your channel so far! Keep it up. I wanna see all your fav Vocaloid outfits and Soak in all the Juicy knowledge!
At the time of PDXs release I had only played PD F2nd and a little of the arcade game I was pretty excited for this game. I wasn't good at them but I still enjoyed playing and listening to the songs. I had a lot of fun with this one. Loved the models for Miku and Luka.
Later on, PS4 VR function was announced and I tried it out at a friend's house that had VR and was fun being able to watch Miku perform almost in the same room
I really liked this game
My most hate on this game was no edit mode. I love playing other songs and crazy ones. (Also Blame the PS4 for losing access to store music files like the PS3 does.)
Project Diva X was my childhood. I personally loved it ❤
Meiko and Luka are PUNCHING the air rn
"worst"? it literally has some of the absolute best songs that show up in none of the other games n it makes me so saddd
I also love how we win the clothes just changing in the midle of the stage, feels more cool than buying it.
But i agree with everything
And it breaks my heart because it had so many new songs! 😢 I wish we could get more of these games
WHY DO PEOPLE HATE IT IT IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE ITS IN MY PS4 RN NOOOOOO
AHHH HONESTLY ITS OKAY!
Legit even with the backlash it still is constilled a GREAT Hatsune miku game! Just that it isn't appreciated as much as the others!
Honestly the graphics and the songs that were in the game were SOOOO GOOD!! Plus you got fun version of miku that never returned! Like Lollipop miku!
@@SekaiDreaming The different special cloud outfits went so hard I'm pretty sure they still use rin and len's cool clouds for concerts
It also quite literally set the stage for sekai with the cloud idea lol
I actually played this game not too long ago, though with only a small list of songs, It contains all of my favorite so i can't hate it! Ms. pumpkin song on top lmao
Always preferred Mirai DX over the Diva games, for some reason. F 2nd and the other entries just don’t give me the same feeling
Love your miku shorts so much! Please keep it up! Keep on spreading the good word lol
Despite the small track list, i actually really enjoyed most of them
So much so that i ended up downloading a mod on my MegaMix+ just to play them.
Diva x was so fun. Sadly people don't like it like i do 😕😕
Honestly Diva X is STILL a great game! I still love and enjoy it!
Even though the game may have had a lack of support and songs, the music that WAS there was absolutely PERFECT!
Plus X had some of my FAVORITE modules in the project Diva series! LIKE LOLLIPOP MIKUUU!
@@SekaiDreaming So true!!
While not the best game in the series, I do believe that X is overhated. Supposedly Sega fired the OG team behind the previous DIVA games and had entirely new devs for X. Hence why it felt "off"
It wasn't a bad game by any means!
Sekai makes more money than all the DIVA games put together :(
Dont quote me on this... As I haven't looked into verifying it. It's just rumored Sega had a different team work on Project Diva X.
I totally agree with this, it may be the worst Project DIVA game, but it’s still a Project DIVA game, which means it’s good and I still loved playing it, LOL
I feel like some people force the hate a little too hard, I met one fan who said “the only good song in it was Slow Motion,” and I wanted to slap them silly for saying that when Hitorinbo Envy, The Lost One’s Weeping, Brain Revolution Girl and Streaming Heart were RIGHT THERE
I loved almost every song, even if there wasn’t a crazy amount, but what I HATED was the boring story mode full of missed potential, the tedious grinding required to progress, the stupid module drop mechanic that makes it totally possible for you to play the game for YEARS and still have a huge chunk of modules still not unlocked, Extreme charts sometimes being insultingly easy, and the Free Play mode giving you absolutely nothing for playing it
The only reasons I didn’t like it was because of how small of music choices it had as well as the technical zones.
The one thing that PDX had going for it, is that you can watch the PVs using the PS-VR Headset.😍
Diva X was my first diva game and its still one of my favorites, yes, the track list is small but all the songs in the game are so good. A lot of my favorite vocaloid songs were ones featured in this game.
I don't know much about the Miku fandom
But it's so interesting to learn about other genres of games❤
Honestly I am sad because no MEIKO really...and
just boring for KAITO
But I still want it because of how it looks lol
But not to me…I love the mixes…and the lighting is very pretty..,
this was my first game so i have a soft spot
I liked a lot the game, i still miss the console version of the gameplay of Project Diva, but yeah, in attempt to make it different the skin farming is akward and uncomfortable comparing it to just win credits and buy the skins, the lack of songs makes it very easily dropable and the Project Diva Arcade appeared in PS4 and then the 39 for Switch and PC turning itself into the last nail on the coffin of the game...
Fun fact, i havent played a single project diva game.
Also it didn't have a PV. That was one of the main issues I remember everyone had when it was releasing
