I like the " port side up " tip as it DOES make a lot of safety sense. GOD BLESS you as well sir. Having JESUS is far more important than having ANY firearm..... I'll take both!
Can you please talk to Colt and get them the fix the horrible action of their thumb safety on their 1911’s? A number of years now almost all Colt 1911’s I handle the thumb safety does not click on/off. They are extremely mushy. The most recent is the Limited Edition Government model.
Great video. How often do you recomend oiling your 1911 carry gun? I don't shoot every week but do carry one every day. I've been doing it every Sunday to make sure it's ready for the week but not a total field strip just the contact points that you showed in the video. Thanks.
If your firearm hasn't been fired in, call it, 30 days, then I would oil the key areas detailed in the video. If you're shooting your firearm, I'd oil it every 400-500 rounds. Thanks for the question and supporting my channel, please share and subscribe with anyone you think would benefit from these insights. Be Safe, God Bless and Thanks for Watching!
Thank you! That was extremely helpful! My favorite! Bought my Government model in 82
Bruce tucson

Understood, most of my 1911's have Stan Chen Thumb Safeties, which I love...thank you for the feedback
