@@chrisno414 that's the point m8. I thought the expcalibur breaks immediately if you put mods in its slots, as well as the fact that if dropped or thrown it cannot be retrieved. Oh yeah, the gold version is unbreakable and even broken retains about soxty percent its normal damage, and its power attack always does full damage no matter its status
The Dying Light wiki page for it says that adding mods destroyed it when tested on PC but that's not true on the PS4 version which is the one I use. I've no idea how it applies to Xbox though 👍🏻
@@erronblack308 this is untrue cause i got a brand new one on PC and couldn't retrieve it from a zombie skull, also it's got seven durability so it'll never not be broken
You can find pipes around in big green trash boxes to dismantle for metal parts, just alcohol take time to find for korek or when u unlock bed next to trader in tower you can keep sleep for another day and when u do that quartermaster have free materials everytime.
in the beginning while i was trying to play at night time to earn more XP i accedently came across under the bridge and found Mokas right paw blueprint which crafts u jaguar claw like glove for the right hand and it is very powerful bcoz of the attack speed and lower cost of ur stamina, thats really fun weapon it slashes and throws away zombies like EXPCaliber
If you go to the stuffed turtle building(search up where it is) you can get disaster packs and when you get 51 of them and then 100 and then 200 delivering them each time to the quarter master each time you get the goal (you will have to get your shot from zene when y you go to deliver to quarter master ) and keep doing that only get three when disaster packs doing the stuffed turtle mission and do it until level 25 survivor rank and unlock the police vans with pick locks and get REALLY GOOD weapons for early game(your welcome)
Another tip that i found by accident, after u are able to freeroam in the tower, u can do the first part of the hellraid (dlc) where u gather the 3 stones, after completing it, u can return to the tower and there is a chest next to the arcade that is filled with weapons u picked up in the minigame. They are pretty powerful, i got myself a blade that does 500+ damage at the begining of the playthrough
There is even an Korek V2 machete in old town somewhere, I found a few Russian guys that were showing their friend how to get it in a co-op session, but they didn't want to show me how to get it too so they left. They were doing some weird ritual-ish motions and pressing certain button combinations or something while on this roof in old town, but they stopped the second they realized I was looking over their shoulders 😓😭
From watching these videos I feel like I’m very prepared to actually play it Also I love the channel it just appeared out of no where to me in my recommended and feels like large channel with a team of editors behind it
I spent a really long time in the prologue just getting agility points and reducing fall damage was more of a game changer than any of the attacks. I collected 3 unprotected airdrops. I always buy every crafting item from the stores
Another tip mate...if you have the bozak horde enter that and in the lobby of it you can go to old town and get the korek v2 blueprint without collecting all the fuel cans...unless of course they've patched that too.
i got the korek v2 machete that way the first time i had it but i somehow lost the blueprint and weapon later on, and because i don't want to use that glitch all the time i'd rather do it the legit way.
Can't wait to play it when the game released to switch, i'll have a lot of fun since i can't play it in my now broken laptop, hp 431 you'll be missed 😢
I don't think many people will see this, but if you have the 'Rais Elite Bundle' then you can make the 'Lupus' for very cheap, which is a short knife that is very powerful for new games.
I literally spent a week trying to unlock korek machete 2.0 in the game. I did it as a solo player as i have no friends lol. Sometimes when it gets hard i remember this and feel better
Ngl, took me 30 minutes to do it. Then again, being legend 250 probably helped a bit. Even so, it's not that hard. Just drink a cloak potion or use camouflage, you can basically do the entire thing undetected. Works better if you stealth kill new zombies so you can reapply camo while you still have it.
You should play the game man, it's honestly one of the best if not THE best games I've ever played. I get the same euphoria every time I boot it up as I used to when I was actively playing minecraft back in the day (good ol' ps3 edition. Ahhh, what a time...)
The most useful thing I've encountered in the game so far are the burning and exploding throwing stars and sometimes the Molotovs. Everything else is either really situational or just adequate or useless.
1. Unlock the charge attack power ability 2. Get the EXPcalibur 3. Break the EXPcalibur 4. Notice how far the zombies will fly with the charged power attack
Here's a tip most of you may already know, to get the metal parts for the Korek Machete, just look for those big metal dumpsters and collect the metal pipes and table legs from it, then go to your inventory and dismantle those items to get 1 metal parts per weapon.
If you have the DLC you can play Hellraid and you can buy or craft those swords and weapons cheap and the combat you gained tranfers to the main game so I lvled up combat 10 lvls in just hour or two
The X-Caliber is more of a FUN weapon instead of a GOOD weapon, it reaks very fast, it does low dmg, but then again you can nock zombies off high places
My favorite early-game weapon has to be the rebar club you get from the orange suit zombies, it’s greeat fun and you can get a lot of them because there’s a lot of those sombies
I was stuck with a broken pipe not knowing you can craft one until I reached the part where I had to kill the vitals and close the gate in pact with rais then I realized how weak I actually am this was rlly useful thx
thank you for these game blessings! as someone who is still at 2% story mode, these are helpful. too bad, these items can't be used to make a whole new weapon. i'll probably just chuck them in my storage bin when their durability hit 0.
I got super lucky because as soon as i got to the 1st safe zone for the very first mission i went to the quarter master and got a gold leaping dao sword that does 793 damage.
I forget what dlc it is but the bundle that gives you the guitar gnome frying pan and golf club blueprints immediately boost the damage if any weapon up to 500-600 right off the rip
What about Moka’s right paw? That is an easily accessible and easily crafted weapon that is ridiculously overpowered, able to get rid of goons before they can hit you
i know a really good trick: 1. Download free DLC with weapons (Unturned weapons do perfectly) 2. Kill a goon and pick up his weapon 3. Collect enough materials to make a DLC weapon 4. Make a DLC weapon, choosing goon's weapon 5. Congrats, you have a fast weapon with crazy damage stats even for the mid-game (sorry for grammatical errors)
One thing which is tough bjt makes the game sooo much easier. Hellraider where you can grind to get the battle hammer for 1100 and surter for 1400. I got surter to 1900 and kills volitiles woth one charged shot
I’ve actually been able to pick the ExpCaliber multiple times. You just need to join someone’s game that doesn’t not have it and then you should be able to lead them to it and pick it up again
I found some kind of cat statue with a "hand claw" blueprint. Forgive me since im new and dont remember the name of the weapon, but that thing is honestly amazing, and it was right on the street under an overpass. I wouldnt classify it as OP, but it has severely helped me out probably half way thru the story and I wish i found it earlier
I noticed... on switch at least... reflections INSIDE buildings, no matter which map you're in, are reflections of the outside of old town..... I haven't paid attention to reflections of his face on switch yet
Ngl, I'm surprised that the game runs on switch at all. I dont think too highly of Nintendo and their consoles, in terms of Power at least. Great family Tools tho
If you get the Hellraid dlc (which you should it’s quite a bit of fun) when you play it you’ll get coins and you can trade in coins for the weapons from the dlc. You’ll get various swords, axes, special weapons, bows, and scepters
The undertaker shovel and the wooden boat paddle were ridiculously useless in this game lol I was surprised that we didn't get upgrades of them later on as we leveled up
First thing I'd do, leaving the tower for the first time, is run over and grab the blueprint for Mokas Right Paw. It's easy and cheap to craft, has enough durability (~33) with 3 repairs to be worth repeated crafting, and does base 300 damage. It pretty much one shots everything. Really it's only weakness is that it doesn't take upgrades/crafting.

I am in old town level 14 power and agility i think and level 12 survivor rank but did not know anything about these weapons. Thank you man so 👍
There is even an Korek V2 machete in old town somewhere, I found a few Russian guys that were showing their friend how to get it in a co-op session, but they didn't want to show me how to get it too so they left. They were doing some weird ritual-ish motions and pressing certain button combinations or something while on this roof in old town, but they stopped the second they realized I was looking over their shoulders 😓😭
That sounds spooky 😂
you just witnessed a start of a cult 💀
he did mention it in the video but ok.
@@Greenhawk4 ???
From watching these videos I feel like I’m very prepared to actually play it
Also I love the channel it just appeared out of no where to me in my recommended and feels like large channel with a team of editors behind it
Thank you! I wish I had a team of editors lol, but I try to find the time to do it all myself. It's still a small channel 👍🏻
Me too.. Im ready to start the game now. Lol
I also love the reaction of Crane when you kick the box for so long.
It’s always good to see 80 has uploaded a video after school and work.
Every day im waiting for you to uplaod another video You're content is amazing dont ever stop
Thanks, I don't always have time and sometimes I just can't think of any ideas but I'll keep going as long as I can 👍🏻
Early game I mainly use the EXPcalibur to craft an electric guitar. Has tons more durability and around equal damage and you can repair it.
Bro you really made me redownload this game because I remember how fun it was. I appreciate your videos thank you
I spent a really long time in the prologue just getting agility points and reducing fall damage was more of a game changer than any of the attacks. I collected 3 unprotected airdrops. I always buy every crafting item from the stores
thanks for this, I am not a first person gamer so this game has been harder for me so far and these will surely make my experience more bearable
Another tip mate...if you have the bozak horde enter that and in the lobby of it you can go to old town and get the korek v2 blueprint without collecting all the fuel cans...unless of course they've patched that too.
i got the korek v2 machete that way the first time i had it but i somehow lost the blueprint and weapon later on, and because i don't want to use that glitch all the time i'd rather do it the legit way.
damn it i wish i could have known this right at the start of the game lol im legend level 4 thanks to you now!
Can't wait to play it when the game released to switch, i'll have a lot of fun since i can't play it in my now broken laptop, hp 431 you'll be missed 😢
How it break
@@superpotato657 the gpu melted because i play for hours......... my poor laptop.
I live the expcalibur when it’s Brocken I can fling zombies so far it’s so fun also very good for cross control
I don't play this game but YT keeps recommending your videos and I keep watching them. >_>
Thanks 👍🏻
You should play the game man, it's honestly one of the best if not THE best games I've ever played. I get the same euphoria every time I boot it up as I used to when I was actively playing minecraft back in the day (good ol' ps3 edition. Ahhh, what a time...)
When I first saw the thumbnail I thought quartermaster had some crazy pickaxe lol
The most useful thing I've encountered in the game so far are the burning and exploding throwing stars and sometimes the Molotovs. Everything else is either really situational or just adequate or useless.
the fact that you can make 12 minute video about getting 2 weapons in early game is crazy
1. Unlock the charge attack power ability
2. Get the EXPcalibur
3. Break the EXPcalibur
Kicking zombie a44es is much better than substandard weapons that breaks overtime.😂😂
If you have the DLC you can play Hellraid and you can buy or craft those swords and weapons cheap and the combat you gained tranfers to the main game so I lvled up combat 10 lvls in just hour or two
If your on Xbox or any other one except ps4 and have van crane bundle you get a boomerang thing for melee it comes right back with expcalibur
Your right, that bundle was released about a month after I'd made this video though 👍🏻
I'll save the video for when I play this on Switch. Good information.
I just want come by the video that got me op in dying light in my first play through and i want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️
i take the grappling hook for granted so much
Very helpful! Just started my first play through today! 🙏🏽
And just favourite(not most effective) weapon in the game has to be the baseball bats because of the BONK
You can use the expcalibur to kill normal zombies anywhere really. Just swing them into a wall or something, and they'll die.
When there is an enemy close by Crane takes a defensive stance with any weapon he’s holding not just the EXPcalibur
even broken the EXPcalibur is a fun weapon, especially to set Zombies Flying :D
I hate the fact that you have limited repairs for weapons good one developers
The Ripper is my go to favorite. Durability and damage are phenomenal.
I was stuck with a broken pipe not knowing you can craft one until I reached the part where I had to kill the vitals and close the gate in pact with rais then I realized how weak I actually am this was rlly useful thx
Best I could do was the superior k-whatever is was called blade. It did like 6 dollars and I got it right before THE PIT
I accidentally lost my korek machete. I couldn't remember how to find it. Thank you for the reminder!
thank you for these game blessings! as someone who is still at 2% story mode, these are helpful.
too bad, these items can't be used to make a whole new weapon. i'll probably just chuck them in my storage bin when their durability hit 0.
Thank you I was gonna play dying light but didn’t know what so I stumbled on this video great chill vibes thx
300+ hrs in the game and didn't know any of this! thanks a lot bud! time to boot up the game once again!
For me, Excalibur never broke. I've had it since the beginning of the tower and I'm level 15.and I've been using it as my main weapon
I got super lucky because as soon as i got to the 1st safe zone for the very first mission i went to the quarter master and got a gold leaping dao sword that does 793 damage.
Exp calibur, korek machete and a handgun are what I recall available right away
How that last one tho plz explain
I forget what dlc it is but the bundle that gives you the guitar gnome frying pan and golf club blueprints immediately boost the damage if any weapon up to 500-600 right off the rip
The house just above the skull by the island is where a pistol always spawns. Just another thing to add
What about Moka’s right paw? That is an easily accessible and easily crafted weapon that is ridiculously overpowered, able to get rid of goons before they can hit you
It was added to the game about 6 months after I'd made this video
@@80skidgrownup00 oh, i was not aware of that, i started the game like a few weeks ago and didn’t know that
@@80skidgrownup00 how would it fare on this list though?
I don't even know what half the DLCs I have do , there's just so much good stuff
I duped the expcalibur and then joined someone else’s game and got it again from the rock, it’s very fun
I always speedrun to get the EXPcalibur and the charged attack skill cause I just love flinging zombies at mach 10 with it
i know a really good trick:
1. Download free DLC with weapons (Unturned weapons do perfectly)
2. Kill a goon and pick up his weapon
3. Collect enough materials to make a DLC weapon
4. Make a DLC weapon, choosing goon's weapon
5. Congrats, you have a fast weapon with crazy damage stats even for the mid-game
(sorry for grammatical errors)
Aye do you still play wanna play online?
@@NuqiBoi I played dying light on ps4, but i sold it.
You just need to join someone’s game that doesn’t not have it and then you should be able to lead them to it and pick it up again
absolutely thank you. manage to get DL in Epic games since it went free and its a blast playing this game now time to get this weapons
I can watch videos about this game all day long
Love the EXPcalibur even if it's damaged the heavy attack always works
It's not fun it wanted me to punch bunch of zombies and then i quit
@@DrDtArdaa year later did u happen to realize it playing a fucking zombie game legit moron lmaooooo
Very nice & helpful tips there..! :)
The undertaker shovel and the wooden boat paddle were ridiculously useless in this game lol I was surprised that we didn't get upgrades of them later on as we leveled up
Everybody gangsta untill a random person joins your game and give you gold OP weapons like unlimited ammo shotgun and unlimited bolts crossbow.
Lol that would be sick
First thing I'd do, leaving the tower for the first time, is run over and grab the blueprint for Mokas Right Paw. It's easy and cheap to craft, has enough durability (~33) with 3 repairs to be worth repeated crafting, and does base 300 damage. It pretty much one shots everything. Really it's only weakness is that it doesn't take upgrades/crafting.
Mokas Paw was not in the game at the time of making this video, it was added in a later update
@@80skidgrownup00 Sure, but they didn't take the video down, and it just showed up in my feed, so it's a valid recommendation for someone that recently got the game and is looking for something OP to use. heh.
just come back to game after long time and found this weapon... really good to kill bandits because they cant block it, also powerful at beginning
Bro it actually works I just tried thank u so much😊
Thanks for the tip , I tried some time to takedown volatile with a 32dmg pipe and that thing from orange berserkers , as expected they obliterated me until a dude with taser shotgun join in xD
Small diff between loot in dying light and dead islands ^^
Being in Germany without Access to Dl is just so Horrible, I miss this Game so much
Love ur vids my Dude, please don't Stop omg
Also Stream dl2 pls haha
Use VPN my friend
thanks, i nearly looked for the odd old ebay copy for ps4, but you saved precious seconds of my life lol
So yeah I know this is old but metal parts are super common, I just started playing cuz I got it got free, I have like 50 metal parts and i have only played for like 10 hours total and alot of that was in hellraid lol just pick up EVERY SINGLE WEAPON you find and break it down. You get alot of nails that way too. Point is every crappy gray you find can be turned into stuff
11:17 that zombie accepted his faith. Look how he begged for his life
Lmao, I'd hoped that somebody else would notice that 👍🏻
Best way to get OP Weapons right at the start is to play Hellraid, and get the Hellraid Weapons in the Main Campaign
Weapons like the Battle Mallet and Surtr can easily do 1000+ Damage
Legend has it I’m still holding the action button from the Excalibur to this day
The gold expcalibur still works when its broken
