overlycreative1 thanks for stopping in. One of my fav queens is from wildflower meadows in CA. She will probably play out or try to swarm next year. Thanks again.

You don't have a deep hive painted and ready to go! What have you been doing all summer? Mowing?

OkieRob harr you're funny 😂. I guess you owed me some paybacks on that one. Assembling and painting isn't on the top of my list. Plus it's too hot and I'm a wimp.

The humidity takes the steam out of me also. With all the extra mowing from the rain we have had i'm ready for a frost. Lol Now i have to start cleaning these pastures up, at least the ones i can get in that don't have mud bogs.

I mowed a couple acres tonight. That Johnson grass grows fast with this rain. It was nice and cool this evening.
      Don't get stuck!

Sorry to hear about loosing a queen. I have had that happen also.

J&L Homestead yeah it happens. I spotted one being robbed last year and shut it down the same way. It didn't have laying workers though. Just very low population. That one may have been from mites. I treated for mites last week.

Good video. What is the life span of a honey bee?
Also you were super excited to have 30 subscribers. You’ve come far Dad!

30 subscribers. That’s hilarious. I thought when I hit 100 it was like so cool. Lol. Bees don’t live long in the summer because they fly a lot. They can live all through the winter inside the hive. So the queen in the big hive swarmed and the next queen that emerged didn’t survive mating flight so it went bad and the workers started laying. Or the queen wasn’t properly mated and only laid unfertilized drone eggs.

I would recommend turning the two center hives 180 degrees. Maybe your bees are collecting in the end hives on their return trips. (Guy from beekeeping etc said they do that so, maybe?)

RDR that's a good point. I never paid much attention front to back.

I had asked you before how to contact you but I don't think I can from the UA-cam app that I'm using. I also don't have Facebook. Are you able to message me? I don't even know if I'd be able to find it if you did.
Newcastle is only about 25 minutes from where I am.
