I have a hive with laying workers as well. A couple of weeks ago I did this same thing sort of...I took healthy brood frames and some with newly laid eggs and some uncapped larvae and put them in the hive thats queenless. I'm leaving it alone for a few more weeks hopefully giving them time to make a new queen.

hello,, i think i may have a laying worker, which ill probably combine with another hive,, my question is,, ,, if you have a laying worker will she look like a queen and real easy to see or will she just be a large over sized worker,, will she be noticiible to the eye,,, thank you greatly and keep up the wonderful videos,, you have taught me much TY,,,

You aren’t worried about the gaps between frames in second hive you showed?

I only have two hives. Both have turned to laying workers. If I buy one nuc and put two frames of larvae in one hive and two frames of larvae in the other hive do you think that would work. I know only one hive would have the new Queen, but the other might raise their own.

With laying workers they rarely raise a new queen if brood is added. If you had a small nuc with a laying queen you could combine with good results
