Hey, a couple of suggestions. Horses need another horse for companionship 100% of the time. An 8 year old needing injections already is a big red flag. The right horse will come along. Look and try out lots of them. Make sure to bring your instructor with you to meet them. 🧡

We never sold a good pony. We’d lend them or sell (to people we knew well and could afford to use our own trusted vets) at a low price under contract to buy back same price when child outgrew the pony. Usually two years.
In fact I don’t know of anyone who ever sold a good pony. Only wrong’uns.

Hock injections signify arthritis or symptoms of it. For the horse to need them at 8, she was started too young or ridden too hard. Reselling the horse could be hard for two reasons: Horses are like dogs, not meat chickens. She'll be very bonded to it. The hock issues will have three more years to get more severe, making it less appealing to the next buyers. Let her instructor find her a horse! Her expertise may come at a cost, but it will save you money and heartbreak long term.

I have 11 horses. But most of my lessons are given on the students’ horses. Mine were almost all rescues and the majority of them are in their teens and twenties. I have never really tried to rehome them. I like to keep them so that I know they are in a good place. At one time we had 27 here from doing a large rescue. We did find homes for all but three of them and those three are still here. Along with 3 older horses. They tend to be hard to part with ❤
That said, I’ve had jumpers that needed hock injections.
It required hauling a couple hours as our local vet did not offer that service. It was rather pricey for us but it may be the area. Might check with the vet your trainer uses and see what the cost would be to help you decide.
I will say that a safe and reliable horse is worth 5figures on the current market.
I’ve been shopping for clients and a good pony is hard to find for a reasonable price.
Also, I have a student that is 5’ 5 and weighs about 135. She still rides a 14 hand quarter horse.
Love Lily’s enthusiasm and her business ideas!!❤

Always speak with your physician before taking supplements. Even if you will be fasting you may not need extra. Many supplements can cause metabolic problems. Too much calcium, potassium, and magnesium can cause dangerous heart arrhythmia. The same can be said if those same minerals or electrolytes are too low.
Potassium is used on death row inmates to cause the heart to stop beating along with a few other things. But potassium is the main culprit.

    • @jeremyowen3293

My aunt started having kidney problems because of taking to much potassium. She started cramping so she started taking potassium only to find out her blood pressure meds already had potassium in it and was overdosing her.

Same with magnesium if you're diabetic... Not good for you. You're better off just eating real food instead of popping supplements by the teaspoon into your body. Always scary because you don't always know if you're getting enough or too much.

Really glad to see you working on fasting and glucose. I've been doing much of the same since a hear attack two years ago. I have found two things about this method that I didn't hear you mention so I will to ensure you both can look into it as I believe these are why fasting is so effective at healing the body. First and most common is after about 12-16 hours of fasting (if you didn't carb out at a party the day before but from a normal low carb day on Keto or carnivore) will put you into Ketosis. Ketosis alone has numerous benefits you can look up. However, the second I had never even heard of until after my HA. Autophagy means self-eat. It is a metabolic process your body goes into after more fasting time. It is a healing process that has a major impact on your immune system, overall body inflammation and rebuilds proteins in your body (from malformed proteins in your body) and helps create new and strengthened mitochondria in your cells. There was a Nobel prize in 2016 for this. Some believe this is the reason we have so much disease in the world as we are constantly in feast mode and never experience famine as our ancestors did. For me, it has cured gluten intolerance, dandruff, lowered cholesterol, massive reduction in fasting glucose and A1C. I hope it helps you and others as much as it has me and all of our ancestors if you agree with the limited experts that understand this well enough. Dr. Steven Gundry - Breaking the Keto code is one of the references I've found that explains this function in layman's terms for your reference if you haven't heard of this previously. So happy to see you healing your body as so few know how important these are. Some even say this is partially why Sauna and Cold plunges work well as they create localized autophagy. The localized burning pain in a muscle group from an intense workout is to create similar localized autophagy in that area of the body.

Right ON!! I'm recovering from T2D myself. Doctors Fung, Berg, Cywes, and Ekberg are really good at explaining metabolism for a layman. The science is still advancing. I'm also trying to achieve autophagy through OMAD and Intermittent Fasting. The single common thread, carbs are not your friend.

There is no danger having your blood sugar in the 50's during a fast. If you were a type 1 diabetic you would need to fear that, but not for you. Because your body has the ability to regulate blood sugar through gluconeogenesis you will be fine.

Hey, Justin. Long time Type II diabetic here. Ketogenic diet has been *very* helpful to me over the years, but if I "cheat" on holidays or celebrations it takes longer and longer to get back on track. Agreed. AS a type 1, when I cheat on low/no carb, or after I fast (which I LOVE to do) my body spikes so much higher than if I were eating carbs regularly, and my insulin needs are higher. Cheats can be really impactful, sadly.

Just boil the broth and slowly add the beaten egg into the broth as you stir. Sometimes I'll even add 2 eggs. The egg-broth is great for protein. God bless your family.

Just to be clear, your blood sugar spikes are completely normal... I challenge you guys to do the same monitoring for one of the young healthy family members as a baseline ;) You are already on a restricted self imposed diet of low carbs and low sugars, high protein and fat... of course carbs and sugars are going to have a more dramatic effect. That does not mean you are pre-diabetic. Its good to be aware, its good to get the doctors involved due to the lab results. But take a big step back and put things into perspective...

Also how did you feel when your blood sugar dropped below 75? Personally, I get the shakes; I feel shaky and weak even though that's not visible to others.

I heard Joel Salatin on coast to coast am Thursday night and found you. I have the same ailments as you. It started with food poisoning that lead to all my joints in pain for months till I started drinking apple cider vinegar and the reactive arthritis went away in 2 weeks. That was 2015, then I started with joint pain again 3 years ago that turned out to be blood cancer, but the real show stopper was rheumatoid arthritis. I tell you this because western medicine dose not know or is covering for the food industry and the standard american diet. I went from not being able to use my arms and walk more than 100 ft. without my knees swelling up from inflammation. Every morning I had shoulder pain from sleeping and needed 5 hot baths a day. The RA is much better since I've been on a carnivore diet. I only eat beef and eggs for last 6 mo. All fruits and vegetables cause inflammation. I think our top priority is rebuilding the top soil. I'm 65 and am motivated to learn to be a butcher and have a butcher shop on wheels and another for transporting cattle and build a franchise for carnivores. The middle men in the cattle business make all the money. The govt. is corrupt and they are actively down sizing and running the good family ranchers out of business. Good luck. I'd watch out for x-rays. Western medicine is part of the population reduction. I think the way Joel is teaching is the most important path for this country and it may lead to a great Assembly.

I’m confused about the concern of a blood glucose that spikes at 160 after eating. That’s a normal spike after a meal. Was your blood sugar 160 the morning after? Because that would be weird. I’m not diabetic but my son is Type 1. I’m also a nurse and had some training at Joslin Diabetes Center. The beautiful one is right too, one cheat meal won’t effect an A1C because the A1C is a measure of glucose for 3 months. Good luck on this health Justin. Hope you’re all feeling good today.

Keto & fasting is a diuretic. That is where your weight loss came from.
Being keto for 7 years, now at weight maintenance, I have learned I have to eat enough fat to have fuel to burn. I don’t have the body fat to draw from any more.
If I don’t eat enough fat for fuel then my body converts protein to glucose even if I’m limiting carbs. It either converts the protein I am eating or my muscle mass.
Organic liquid stevia is my go to sweetener.

I think the blood sugar drop is because you've used your glycogen stores. It's also the swing from the huge spike. It would steady out the longer you fasted.

Fat fasting is amazing too. So just eat some fat while you’re fasting with water and some minerals it gives you energy and also doesn’t do anything to your glucose levels and you can still be in ketosis

When you stick with the carnivore way of eating then you don't need to do the fasting. And you can attend a party without partaking in all those carbs and sugar. Takes me back to high school, I attended parties and didn't drink or do drugs. Just saying. You are getting into the trap of obsessing about your levels. You have a choice to make here. Either stick with the carnivore or just eat what you want and throw that monitor away. Get back on the carnivore for at least 30 days and then tell us how you are feeling. And during that 30 day on carnivore tell us what your sugar level does. Eat a piece of meat and a boiled egg after your fast. Hugs and blessings to you always.

I understand what you're doing, and the logic behind it, please keep this in mind...our ancestors ate when food was available. Their bodies learned to store fat for the hard times. And whatever else they needed. When you fats, you could be training your body to believe it needs to hoard , when you eat again.
However, your A1c, is an average over 3 months.
If you eat healthy most of the time, and have a small piece of cake occasionally, it's not perfect, but your average will still come down. It just takes time.
Now this, I have bo logic for, but a lot of us diabetics have higher morning readings, and our levels get better through the day, if we eat right. Even without meds. No one has ever explained why , so I'm not sure why, it just is.
Also, o have to wonder, does the Dr even know what his own morning readings are? Most people don't even check it til they're in trouble, so ...
If normal is 70-120, why do we need to start the day under 100? Especially as active as you are during the day. Could your body just know what it's in for every day? And maybe getting ready for all the jumping and running it knows you're going to do , bright and early? Please don't kick me out for this. I'm not trying to say not to be healthy, just some things to consider

everybody is an expert...i know...i just wanted to throw in a little philosophy i thought you might appreciate...Nietzsche said that man should not waste time on the will to life because he already is in life...however, he felt that man ought to embrace the will to health and to accumulate as much good health as one possibly can (because ageing is an accumulation of losses and good health challenges that and discourages early death from genetic anomalies)...good advice from an unwell man!

Oh boy... how I know, I've done 4 liver flushes with 2 week intervals and this last one had me determined I wasn't going to do the 5th one... cannot stand the Epsom salt drink.. 🤢
But...I feel so amazing, no feet pain... like I'm almost giddy because since early July I've not been able to walk/ stand for long and now I'm like... oh me oh me...I nearly don't hurt. Now, mine is due to injury, I fell hard on my right butt cheek in early June, Corrected my sciatic pain of 30 years! 🙄... nothing my chiropractors have been able to do. Then the feet pain kicked in. Having done these flushes, only after proper herbal organ cleansing and parasite killing, Hulda Clark style, have I seen relief. I thot maybe I had injured intestines, anyway... I'm doing the 5th flush in a week... praying for even greater healing.

I'm surprised Rebecca has never heard Eastern thoughts on bananas and honey. I had a friend from Sri Lanka who lived to be nearly 112 yrs old. She always told me never to feed my children bananas in cold weather because they can cause mucus being tropical fruit and bananas cool the body. She also told me never to put honey in hot tea or hot recipes without cooling to warm, because that destroys the healthy properties and she said that heat can actually make the honey toxic.

try more salads - less meat and dairy is not a bad thing now and again - you could live almost primarily on brown rice and salad and nuts and it does serve to help your receptors reattune - stay away from the honey and eat more beans and healthy fats to smooth out the insulin curve - do think about lifting more and jumping rope - get some regular weights and just lift light and try some new stuff and plan on getting some help for bigger construction projects and winter clearing - as always i think overdoing it on the compost could pay the most dividends - you just can't go wrong with it but do think about doing some plowing too - it will integrate compost quick - do an a/b test to confirm - don't take anybody's word for it - find out what works best for you - if you don't try some moonshots you will never know. lastly tree hacking - it is not too late for planning out an orchard and many more nut trees plus think about reselling - you need profits and trees are low tco high roi - much less work than any other options
