My Question is do Beneficiaries have a right to see the trust and an accounting even if mother is in a home . In which my Half Brother sold our family home and will not produce anything to show we're the money is and she has a pension and social security. I feel he's is spending her money on him and his wife and children. What are our right as Beneficiaries. I'm in Southern California

I'm an heir and would like to hire a lawyer for him to write a certified letter
with his firm logo. Asking for the true copy of the trust and to obtain a trust
accounting. Is this a good approach obtaining what I'm asking for?

Probably a good approach to start. It's not necessary for the letter to be certified. The attorney can better advise you when you meet with him or her.

My Mother just recently passed away on 12-14-19. I have 2 siblings who moved in with her quite a number years ago ( Brother 17 years Sister aprx 7 years ) due to their own personal financial shortcomings. About 1 & 1/2 years ago is when my Mothers health started on its path of serious decline. Prior to Mothers illness she had her Will stating she wanted her Lawyer to take care of her bills if she became unable too. She had always made it clear she did not want my Sister having any access to any of her accounts. She even mentioned she would prefer that my Brother instead do it. Being they reside there & I live a bit away I am not sure all that took place other then 1 & 1/2 years ago my Sister got assigned POA & became the one in charge of the will. They both informed me of this as telling me they BOTH had copies of the Will. When I asked for a copy they each would just say the only thing in the Will is the house is to be divided equally when Mother passes. They would never let me see or give me a copy of the Will.
My Sister is very cunning & manipulative individual. I used to think my Brother was more leveled headed & would protect our Mother but now I am very uncertain of this. Particularly when they both had privilege to her Will prior to her passing & even thou I am included they have not included me.
Is there any particular reason you can consider to as of why? And when am I properly entitled to receive a copy?
Seeing a house is the only item supposedly listed do they have to file the Will with Probate Court?
This is in the state of Maryland.
Thank you I appreciate your knowledge!

Sorry for the loss of your mother. Since the issue is in the state of Maryland, you should consult with an attorney who is licensed to practice in Maryland. It seems to me the will should be filed with the local court, but not all estates are required to go through probate, such as when the value is low and the beneficiaries are in agreement. I hope you can resolve this matter peacefully with your brother and sister, possibly with the help of a mediator.

financialinsiderweek 🤗 thank you thank you 🤗 for taking time to address & suggest my thoughts/questions.
I am believing my siblings are feeling I am to “immature” to understand the Will seeing they have chosen to not include me in a few things. That’s ok & expected. Sadly thou their actions do have ones mind questioning a lot of things. But I am mature enough to know that once I obtain the Will I need to address it with a lawyer so they can explain the Wills intentions, what to expect & what I need to do.
      Thank you again 🤗
