This is a new sailor who has her own experience. This was not and is not my experience in the Navy. So a lot of what she is saying is very much exaggerated, especially with the sleeping. I know in my rate, we aren’t sleeping. Plus she an E-3 so of course she doesn’t have much responsibility. Medical on the ship is way different from medical on shore duty. Pay gets better if you apply yourself and make rank. It’s more if you’re married or have a child, you also get thing like housing allowance, food allowance, and special pays. This is a really negative and biased view. I’ve been in 20 years and ran across this video with my son. Even he can tell this is just a one sided naive point of view of the navy. Watch more videos. They’re out there!
Sweetheart that’s the whole point of my videos . My videos are very one sided. Because I’m telling MY side . I’m telling my experience as a black women joining the navy straight of out high school as a E-1. Im telling the side of a sailor who has seen people apply themselves, pass the exam and STILL not make rank because the quotas were low that cycle . I’m telling the side of a CS , a rate where our job is to cook and clean from 0430-1900 almost . everyday . I’m telling the side of a sailor who is not married and does not have a child so I did not have the luxury of having a housing allowance or a food allowance. I’m telling the side of a YOUNG sailor who has experienced civilian Kaiser Permanente health insurance, Navy sea duty health care AND navy shore duty health care . I highly encourage everyone to watch other videos because EVERY SINGLE VIDEO on UA-cam is bias . Everyone can only share their experience and what they have seen/know . OF COURSE your experience was different from mine , your name is not Ashley Apollo , so they is no way on earth your 20 years of service compared to my 3 years would be identical . NOTHING I say in my videos is exaggerated or meant to shine a negative light on the Navy . I am simply telling my EXACT experience . You can not shade or judge my experience just because it was not the same experience you had !
Thank you for this info ! She said i’m bout to keep it too real with y’all 😂😂 Can you speak on IT rates is it more like 9-5 with weekends off or like OD crazy shift hours ? Also how do you suggest wearing your hair as a black woman especially when deployed?
I love your channel so much all the dislikes you have are haters but keep up your videos can you talk about joining after college because I plan on doing that

+Ashley Apollo just don't go in from high school. TWO year degree is great
Happy I watched this cuz I was already having doubts about the navy now I’m not gonna join
Dont let someone else decide your path in life..watch more videos on the navy and do more research. Compared to doing the same thing everyday a typical civilian does, in the military you will do things you would never thought you would do and go places you never thought. Just the benefits itself is enough to join. Whether you do 4 years or 20 years, it will be life changing. Good luck and hope you find success
Thank you for the honesty 💕
Thank you for your video! Very informative!
My homeboy told me that it’s Tricare which is the best medical and dental 🦷!
Also you have great videos and I’m planning to join after high school
Thank you boo 💜!!
Hi Ashely, I had to send you another possative thank you for this video!I wish you all the best in serving.....I hope you have a long safe journey serving and thank you for these details in this video.......it's key for me!I thought it would be a really good idea serving for your country but if the gov. Wint tale care of us after we serve......there's really no point! I wish you all the happiness and safe travels serving.......cheers
Thank you for being honest
How come they don’t tell you about any of this ...
Because recruiters are used car salesmen
@@lablabdog my recruiters were honest with me, pros and cons.
Well they don't call them "swabbies" for nothing
Work 24 hours a day in the military? What the fuck? That's counter productive. Workers need sleep to avoid burnout.
Thank you for the truth
I qualified for the job I wanted (MA) that jobs not available! I just passed everything at Meps March 14 2019. Just waiting around now. Lol
c222233 did you get that rate?
Thank you for this info ! She said i’m bout to keep it too real with y’all 😂😂
Can you speak on IT rates is it more like 9-5 with weekends off or like OD crazy shift hours ?
Also how do you suggest wearing your hair as a black woman especially when deployed?
I wanna serve but my education isn’t that good will that make my service longer ?
No your first contract length depends on your rate
with funds for school does it cover existing loans prior to joining or only funds after you've joined
I love your channel so much all the dislikes you have are haters but keep up your videos can you talk about joining after college because I plan on doing that
Lmao my brother joined USMC to make money and uhhmmm brotha is broke!

Your already in and have a good start in serving your time......your loling in that regard!
I am so grateful for your video , Navy is my dream place to be well WAS lol not anymore but I salute you thank you .
Honestly I like your videos but it seems like you minimize the rewards for joining
No , your recruiter will maximize all the rewards. I maximize the reality.
I agree with Ty. You join the military. The military comes first. If you joined the military for comfort, amazing life quality and freedom to do what you want, was the wrong choice lol
Ashley Apollo that’s true though 💯 you mad pretty too😜
