I've said something similar before, but for a channel with less than 2,000 subscribers these are the most well crafted and high effort videos I've seen!
+Strat296 I was first introduced to Tomr's at CocktailKingdom.com but it's available from other locations as well. It's also not the only tonic syrup on the market, so you might want hung around or make your own! I do nearly all of my liquor store shopping at a place called Astor Wines which is an incredible fantasy land for booze. I'm pretty blessed to have it reasonably nearby.
The difference in production quality across the first 8 episodes is staggering. Truly insane to watch you go from a side table to an actual counter so quickly.
My absolute favorite gin! Awesome to see you using it. Your channel is *criminally* unsubscribed, I love your content and your video quality is top-notch.
My single favorite gin is easily Terroir from St. George Spirits. I'm no expert in French but I believe it's pronounced 'tair-wah'. The term is often used in wine tasting referring to the characteristics that a wine gains from the environment where the grapes were grown.
I love this channel! Never stop man, I love the feel of it! A gin and tonic is my go to drink when I'm trying to write new music, can't wait to try this one out!
Cant believe i've just found this channel! So much effort in your videos its really great, keep it up and the subs will flood in soon enough brother I promise.
Great videos man, keep it up I’m a fan! Not a big cocktail drinker, but ya making me venture out. Always inviting and up beat. Thanks...keep on keepin on
Excellent drink! Making this for a holiday party with a homemade elderflower tonic syrup. The recipe posted is missing the 1/4 oz of lime juice. The smoke is definitely adds so much.
Aside from my excited last posts this is awesome. dig the new shorter intro and the set feels a lot more appropriate in size. you'll grow fast man, I'll share for you :)
Love this recipe- although a local fancy as shit bar/resto held the sprig and lit it letting the smoke rise into the shaker itself before building the cocktail- the result was phenomenal. I almost feel that method would impart more smoke flavour.
please continue to make videos. You will become one of the best cocktail channels on youtube pretty fast! And maybe mix what you say in the intro a little bit sometimes,
I couldn't think of a better place to inquire about this, but... gin and tonic is a common drink with variations. Could there be more videos? Could there be a video that covers the Hendrick's Cucumber Gin & Tonic while also covering Lime gin & tonics and other variants? Fevertree makes Elderflower Tonic! Seems like there's a lot of territory to explore.
1. Can you smoke dried rosemary or does it have to be a fresh sprig? 2. Would this flavor pair well with Poinsettia cocktails at brunch? 3. Can you use a regular household candle lighter?
Thank you for sharing this cocktail recipe. You say quarter ounce Tonic syrup while adding but in the end you have mentioned it as 1 ounce tonic syrup. Could you please confirm which one is the right one?
Big fan of the channel. I tried this today. Unfortunately I could not taste the rosemary smoke. Not sure if I did something wrong. Also the smoke smell lingered and my parents got mad at me. Can you figure out why I could not get the rosemary taste and why my parents got mad at me?
Hey Greg, great video. One question: If you use a frozen glass, more smoke will be trapped due the condensation when the warm smoke hits the cold glass. Do you think this is a good idea or might the smokey flavor overpower the rest? Cheers!
I don’t think you’d get MORE smoke in the drink (not noticeably anyway) by using a frozen glass, I’m pretty sure doing it this way already kind of saturates that flavor
Great! Was rewatching your videos before you published this video...Wanted to ask, how do you make those ice cubes in your Tom Collins video....they look amazing!
There's a video where I attempt to cover making clear ice hear: ua-cam.com/video/sNohIFrbkXM/v-deo.html but honestly Camper English has written volumes on the subject over at his blog. I should say, I don't actually use home-made ice on the show, there's no way to make the volume of ice I need for the show in my residential freezer. We use an ice delivery service called Hundred Weight, they cut the cubes from 300 pound clinebell blocks.
Okay, thanks for the info...now I know why they are so beautifully cut in your videos. Hard to do that at home, my ice usually ends up looking like random ice pieces like in your video on how to make clear ice.
+Ivi Zhuang I'm right there with you. I got good enough to make passable spears and cubes, but some people are incredible at it. Practice makes perfect, having the right tools makes a big difference. A saw that's food safe does wonders.
I’ve noticed in a few of your videos including this one that the video ingredients don’t always match up the description. In this one the description leaves out the 1/4oz lime juice. Just goes to show it pays for me to be observant while I watch you create!
Hi guys, I would like some information on that tonic syroup. What's that? Is that a brand? Can I make it at home? And last, is there a saint who knows the recipe?
_A Funny Thing About Fathers_ I spent most of my life dreaming of being a chef, so I learned all sorts of crazy techniques. I know the science, the art, and I've practice for hours. Yet, no matter how hard I try, not matter how many Michelin starts a restaurant has, my father makes the BEST "Poached Eggs on Toast" Now that I'm and adult, now that we can be more like best friends, I have precious memories where we've bonded over alcohol. To my surprise, my dad, also makes a _mean_ Gin & Tonic. The thing is, he uses basic ingredients. Tonic Water, Beef-eater Gin, Lemon... IDK what else, but nothing fancy since he shops at the dollar store. No matter the bar, or the complexity of the ingredients, I promise guys, my dad makes *the best "Gin & Tonic" on the planet. With the poached eggs, I had nostalgia glasses, but that wasn't the case with this cocktail. The first time I tasted it, it was _sublime._ Basically, my dad is a warlock.
Check out my page at ThisIsHowToDrink.com/Gear I might have them listed there, but I’m not sure off the top of my head. They’re made/sold by cocktail kingdom though.
Sounds like a great idea to me, though I wonder if the cucumber flavor would get lost in this. Could help it along by going with Hendricks gin, or with a dash of cucumber bitters or shrub. I’ve got a bottle of the latter from bitter truth.
+How To Drink I'm just excited to see all the new cocktails. From the intro I can see we will be in for some pretty cool looking stuff. The Improved Whiskey Cocktail, and the Gin Whisper sells really well at my bar. You should try a White Old Fashioned sometime.
One of the only light hearted cocktail channel. So many other cocktail experts who don't even crack a smile. Don't ever change mate!
This stuff isn’t that serious! Thank you!
The others look like Xbox 12 year olds thinking about how many times they should say the n word
I've said something similar before, but for a channel with less than 2,000 subscribers these are the most well crafted and high effort videos I've seen!
Really trying to hit that 2000....
Dude your videos are amazing!
Just post more often and you will surely get a fuck ton of subscribers!
You got my vote, excellent video. Where do you source some of your booze? I've never seen that tonic syrup anywhere.
Yeap, these are gold. Better then some really big drink channels out there. You seem like a really cool dude.
I'm pretty blessed to have it reasonably nearby.
you can also capture the smoke into the shaker top, so when you toss it you will add some smoke into the mixture.
Aw. Baby Internet Drinky Man was just precious.
It's honestly amazing how far this show has come. I'm so glad it all worked out for you.
Sapphire Tonic is a favorite of mine..I'll have to steal this recipe idea.😊
I like the fact that theres old fashioned jazz music playing on the background, rather than some generic techno beat.
So the spilling of alcohol has been a feature of this channel from the start
The difference in production quality across the first 8 episodes is staggering. Truly insane to watch you go from a side table to an actual counter so quickly.
Older episodes no demon deer! Keeps me up at night.
These videos are so well shot and edited you can literally taste how good the drinks are! Real eye candy. Thanks!
My absolute favorite gin! Awesome to see you using it. Your channel is *criminally* unsubscribed, I love your content and your video quality is top-notch.
Thanks for enjoying! It's a damn fine gin by the way, you've got good taste.
Thank you, this has become my wife’s favorite drink, and I get to look cool making it. 🔥
Happy New Year from Poland 🇵🇱 🇺🇸
Rosemary sprigs make such festive garnishes. 🌿🎀
I love how you pour in the liquids in slow motion its just amazing to watch
So happy your back, this channel is a gift! I especially like how you describe the drinks afterwards, you can tell you love the craft!
Thanks so much! Means a lot to me to hear that people love the show.
This cocktail looks delicious! The combination of gin, rosemary, and the addition of smoke, sounds amazing!! :-)
HOW TO DRINK IS BACK. HOW TO DRINK IS BACK. EXCITEMENT. Keep up the good work, this channel is great.
I love it when you enjoy your creations.
Hey, me too!!
So glad your back. I use your reciepe for old fashioneds and I'll never use anything else.
I deeply appreciate the compliment, but there's so many other ways to skin that cat! Don't limit yourself!
+How To Drink Haha thanks. I also do vary between maple syrup and agave nectar.
My single favorite gin is easily Terroir from St. George Spirits. I'm no expert in French but I believe it's pronounced 'tair-wah'.
The term is often used in wine tasting referring to the characteristics that a wine gains from the environment where the grapes were grown.
It's also commonly used in tea tasting
Such a good gin! My go-to.
I love this channel! Never stop man, I love the feel of it! A gin and tonic is my go to drink when I'm trying to write new music, can't wait to try this one out!
Matt Beach. Thanks for saying so! Glad you love the show! This is still one of my favorite drinks we ever shot.
Cant believe i've just found this channel! So much effort in your videos its really great, keep it up and the subs will flood in soon enough brother I promise.
I hope so, and thank you!
And he is back:D so nice to see you again
Ahhh the Gin&Tonic. Tastes like summer.
YES THE VIDEOS ARE BACK!!!!!
Great videos man, keep it up I’m a fan! Not a big cocktail drinker, but ya making me venture out. Always inviting and up beat. Thanks...keep on keepin on
I love the smokey touch and the way you make it, thank you!
Excellent drink! Making this for a holiday party with a homemade elderflower tonic syrup. The recipe posted is missing the 1/4 oz of lime juice. The smoke is definitely adds so much.
Man, i love your videos! Your technique for smoking is pretty smart, i might try that with something else in the future!
Holy smokes; this channel has come a long, long way!
I add lime juice as well, but I never shake my gin & tonic. I like that the lime juice isn't fully incorporated.
You came back. Hooray!
🤩 My favorite gin. yay for living near their HQ in the SF Bay, here.
Aside from my excited last posts this is awesome. dig the new shorter intro and the set feels a lot more appropriate in size. you'll grow fast man, I'll share for you :)
Your videos are awesome dude! So much love and details in it
keep going!
A really great addition to one of my favorite drinks
Fan for a while. Love the channel. Can you make some drinks with empress gin? Please and if you do thank you!
Been a while since the last video!
Looks really tasty! Thanks for the upload
Yay a new video! I love Gin and Tonics. this sounds super yummy.
I chose a great time to discover and subscribe to this channel!
I'm making this today at work. Thank you
I like where you work
How To Drink these are selling like crazy at work....Gracias
Love this recipe- although a local fancy as shit bar/resto held the sprig and lit it letting the smoke rise into the shaker itself before building the cocktail- the result was phenomenal. I almost feel that method would impart more smoke flavour.
please continue to make videos. You will become one of the best cocktail channels on youtube pretty fast! And maybe mix what you say in the intro a little bit sometimes,
You are a god damm Cocktail god. Your videos are amazing. Never stop doing this. I love it. Greetings from germany. Cheers!
This may be a dumb question, but what was the thing you burned the rosemary on? Is it something made for that purpose, or just a stone drink coaster?
I'VE MISSED THESE VIDEOS!
Welcome back! Stick around this time, would ya???? Excellent video.
That's the plan
I couldn't think of a better place to inquire about this, but... gin and tonic is a common drink with variations. Could there be more videos? Thank God you figured out the music.
Great videos! Keep them coming.
I'm trying to! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you like the show!
Im sorry ive taken this long to subscribe 😂😂😂 great show
1. Can you smoke dried rosemary or does it have to be a fresh sprig?
2. Would this flavor pair well with Poinsettia cocktails at brunch?
3. Can you use a regular household candle lighter?
You should try and find or import Edinburgh Gin or better yet Pickering's Gin again from Edinburgh. Simply outstanding.
You wrote quarter ounce of syrup but looks like you filled the jigger to the top. Which is it? Looks great can't wait to try it.
Thank you for sharing this cocktail recipe. You say quarter ounce Tonic syrup while adding but in the end you have mentioned it as 1 ounce tonic syrup. Could you please confirm which one is the right one?
Love the channel you really make it look it easy hats off (this goes for all the videos)
Just did it, man, it is awesome!
Yes! Glad you liked it!
You should try fried rosemary. It's amazing.
Big fan of the channel. I tried this today. Unfortunately I could not taste the rosemary smoke. Not sure if I did something wrong. Also the smoke smell lingered and my parents got mad at me. Can you figure out why I could not get the rosemary taste and why my parents got mad at me?
Love this. Thank you.
Is the tonic supposed to be bitter? And can any other tonic be used to substitute? Like an elder flower for example
Great video! What is the lime squeezer you are using?
I'm pretty sure it's this one: www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZQIH87?psc=1
but at any rate I got from amazon.
Any suggestions for what I should use at home to burn the rosemary on top of? I'd prefer not to use a plate.
Great! Was rewatching your videos before you published this video...Wanted to ask, how do you make those ice cubes in your Tom Collins video....they look amazing!

my favorite drink: pisco sour!!
Where can I buy the square cooking stone to smoke the sprigs?
Love these videos, Just building my own bar currently. Where did you get your bar table from? i love the light you can stick the glasses on
just made it and it's great!
Awesome! Thank you!@
MOAR PLZ!!!!
The smoke must quickly cling to the side of the glass - cool to know
what glasses are those? I love the ring on top it looks really good for this cocktail.
Great videos, I am glad I stumbled upon your channel !
Cocktail kingdom double rocks and I’m glad you found me too!
Thanks for the quick answer man ! be well !@@howtodrink
Wheel of Gin
I’ve noticed in a few of your videos including this one that the video ingredients don’t always match up the description. In this one the description leaves out the 1/4oz lime juice. Just goes to show it pays for me to be observant while I watch you create!
I need help to look for that cool looking double rocks glass.
This one came from cocktail kingdom, check out their website!
How To Drink sweet.
Nice. The misses & i will try that.
When using regular tonic instead of syrup should I still add seltzer?
Is this a cocktail only channel
New here would lite to know you’re take on a margarita
I’m gonna get to that one soon... ish...
I request beetlejuice and essence from the dark crystal
Hi guys, I would like some information on that tonic syroup. What's that? Is that a brand? Can I make it at home? And last, is there a saint who knows the recipe?
Yay!
💙 Thanks 🌈
please upload more often
That's the plan!
+How To Drink thanks, and great vids by the way
How do you make your Tonic - syrup? Or do you buy it?
Tonic is something I’ve actually never made myself. I will do so in the future, but I use Tomr’s Tonic here. Good stuff.
Which camera are you using for your videos ?
_A Funny Thing About Fathers_
I spent most of my life dreaming of being a chef, so I learned all sorts of crazy techniques. I know the science, the art, and I've practice for hours. Yet, no matter how hard I try, not matter how many Michelin starts a restaurant has, my father makes the BEST "Poached Eggs on Toast"

Good drink
Would a Smokey flavor be jarring against the light and fresh taste of a gin and tonic?
What is that dish you use to light up the rosemary?
It’s just a coaster my wife bought at Anthropologie years ago
At the end of the video you prescribe 1oz of tonic syrup. During the video you prescribe 1/4 oz of tonic syrup. Which do you recommend?
Oh no. That's a typo. Using tonic syrup it's 1oz tonic syrup to 3-4oz seltzer. Thanks for spotting that. Dang.
in the video you mention that you can also use 4 oz of tonic water instead of the syrup ? at what stage would you add that?
Anyone know where to get gold rimmed glassware like this?
Check out my page at ThisIsHowToDrink.com/Gear I might have them listed there, but I’m not sure off the top of my head. They’re made/sold by cocktail kingdom though.
How To Drink thanks so much man! Keep up the videos! They’re truly classy! 🥃 Also get back onto Instagram!!
What do you use to torch the rosemary on? I tried doing something similar but ruined the plate I used.
It’s a weird coaster my wife got at Anthropology.
How To Drink okay cool. I’ll have to look for something to use then!!
Do you think this would go well with a couple slices of cucumber in the drink?
Sounds like a great idea to me, though I wonder if the cucumber flavor would get lost in this. Could help it along by going with Hendricks gin, or with a dash of cucumber bitters or shrub. I’ve got a bottle of the latter from bitter truth.
Ayyyy thousandth like!
ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!!
Why is it changing colour in the end?
Oh wow he's back, and with a better bar!
I should have made a "making of" for that. It's a butcher block IKEA countertop I put on 2x4 legs, and cut a window in to under light the drinks.
+How To Drink I'm just excited to see all the new cocktails. From the intro I can see we will be in for some pretty cool looking stuff. The Improved Whiskey Cocktail, and the Gin Whisper sells really well at my bar. You should try a White Old Fashioned sometime.
So I get a lot of cramps so one of my friends recommended that I start drinking tonic water and it legit tastes like dollar store cough syrup
Bitterness is an acquired taste is really all I can say there
