Yes. Evergrey...such an underrated band that deserves a bigger audience...this music is to be felt...it touches me on so many levels...they are EVERGREAT indeed!
Listening to evergrey is like listening to sounds of nature to me, their background music is like the sound of many waterfalls and Tom's voice is like the sound of birds singing in harmony with the noise of crashing waters.
I know right, Escape Of The Phoenix really seemed to cut through in a way their other albums just didn't. This one song though, I mean for me it is a masterclass in how to right an ambitious, melodic metal song. Tag any label you want to it, it's just incredibly good guitar led music. I'd be made up to see them tour bigger venues and sell more records.
Awesome reaction! I am a huge Evergrey fan, I've met the band 3 times now (I miss concerts) and all of them are really great guys. Tom (singer/guitarist) is very active on UA-cam, so I wouldn't be surprised if he pops up here at some point too. They really appreciate their fans too, and next time it's possible to see them live I'll definitely go out of my way to support them. They are hard to define musically, I've heard them called all sorts of things - prog metal, melodic metal, gothic metal, etc., but it seems to me they really are entirely their own sound, so I've taken to just calling them grey metal. I definitely encourage you guys to check out more! Everyone is going to recommend "In Orbit" because it has Floor in it, and while it's good, I think there are better choices of theirs for reactions. It's also worth noting that 'Disconnect' also features Floor, but since it didn't get a video, it's much less common of a reaction... it also happens to be incredible. She's more of a haunting presence in it than at the forefront, but it works so well. Off the top of my head though, I'd recommend: 'Distance' 'Black Undertow' 'All I Have' 'Weightless' 'A Silent Arc' 'King of Errors' Or if you want to go back nearly 20 years to their classic era, try 'A Touch of Blessing'. These are just song with videos of course, I think their are even better songs beyond these, but not everyone gets a video! I hope you guys react to another sometime soon!
*"Eternal Nocturnal" was for days suggested to me by UA-cam, I've always clicked "Later" until TankTheTech released his reaction vid for "Eternal Nocturnal". I watched it and EVERGREY's status stormed from "Never heard of them before" to "One of my most favourite bands EVER !!"......I highly recommend "Eternal Nocturnal"......Greetings & Stay safe.* 🎵🌟✨🎵👍
They've become one of my favourite bands. Tom Englund personally thanked Tank the Tech for reacting to the band. He couldn't believe he'd never heard them before either.
Great pick Evergrey are so underrated, check out there song In Orbit,,,,with guest vocals by no other then Floor Jansen, its a must ;) keep up the awsome work greatings from Sweden
Love the keys player using a MiniMoog on top there. I’m a keys player myself and it adds so much to the track. What a great song this is and first time I’ve heard it
This album is great. You should also check out Tom in the duo Silent Skies. He does Here comes the rain again. In Orbit by Evergreys ft. FLOOR. He more or less taught himself how to sing. He was also on Floor Finds on her UA-cam Channel. This is also Floor's husband Hannes group before he was in Sabaton
I first saw Evergrey late at night in 2005 but missed the credits so sadly forgot about them unitl 2019 ,ever since I'm addicated to them and being an experienced songwriter I know the level of talent they have. You should check out 'A Silent Arc' Great review btw!
Evergrey has a song like no other in their répertoire: When the Walls Go Down (the live version with the string quartet is the one to listen to). I think it tells you a lot about where they come from. Afterwards, there are plenty of awesome songs to enjoy: King of Errors, The Paradox of the Flame, Weightless, Distance (probably my favorite of the "Evergrey 2nd blossoming"). I'm not found myself of In Orbit featuring Floor... too pop/generic. No interrest.
I saw Evergrey in Chicago back in 2015…..absolutely amazing. Toms vocals sound even better live than they do on the albums. funny sidenote my height is 6 foot 3 and when I met Tom after the show he was at least 3 inches taller than me. People do not understand how fucking tall that guy is!
If you like this, please check out a band Katatonia. Good starting place is Lethean or My Twin. Of course they have newer songs that are amazing as well. They are definitely unique, they used to be a death metal band that now sings clean. Jonas, vocalist has a unique delivery when he sings I think. They are definitely dark, and atmospheric in most of their music.. interesting note, Jonas was heavily inspired by the Cure growing up
More Evergrey ??? Try the song Black undertow ... heres the link ua-cam.com/video/58TaaVuH_ME/v-deo.html..love this band ..glad you like them too great reaction ..
Thanks for the reaction and the support! :)
I’m so excited to hear more! 😁 - G

Awesome reaction. Been a fan of Evergrey since 2002. My favorite album of theirs is Torn (2008).
Great choice! Evergrey is amazing!
Floor Jansen has an interview with Tom Englund on her channel in "Floor Finds". Gothenburg, Sweden has a lot of Good bands.
EVERGREY - In Orbit (feat. Floor Jansen) (2016) // official clip // AFM Records...Every Metal band wants a Floorgasm!
Evergrey "All I Have" or "End of Silence", both very emotional.
Love the keys player using a MiniMoog on top there. I’m a keys player myself and it adds so much to the track. What a great song this is and first time I’ve heard it
Absolute mad lads of a band
