There is a new punch in this video. Landon is really a humble soul he personally have answered tons of my stupid questions. Love the Help and the video!!
Great video! As a FTF student still in the studieing phase I am super impressed with the plethora of brilliant informative content you have within the courses. Thank You from Western Australia
This is all great info for new video creators, but the most important in my opinion when it comes to technical skills, it that there is no exposure triangle - there is physically more light or less light hitting the camera sensor. ISO is a digital boost to a base image - it is NOT an increase in light - therefore it can only be digitally "brightened" and is the same as cranking the "exposure" slider in Premiere, Final Cut, Resolve, etc. This is the number one thing new video creators need to understand. Also, a creative decision you might have made, but you didn't speak about motivating your light, and in your talking head shot, your key was on the reverse side of your window, which physically doesn't seem natural.
I personally am a member of FTF and therefore have access to all their vids. That being said, I love the simplicity of this video. Also I love the thumbnail!!
Amazing video as always 🔥 Video Suggestion: I absolutely love the job shadow you did about 11 months ago on the golf course with the Lumix 6k Opengate. Surely we see more job shadow videos in the future. As always much love Landon ❤
Love the pacing of the video. Although I already knew most of these, it still feel fresh and worthy of relearning. Wait, why is the video looking washed and not sharp?
No matter what he tells you, let's just say that results may vary. Just because you can work a camera and know how to set up lighting and how to edit videos, doesn't mean you are going to be successful. I have a friend who's been doing this for the past 4-5 years. He's been networking, emailing, doing work for free to gain future business from people and busting his butt to be a fulltime filmaker and still has to rely on a full time job just to make it. With every success story there's about a thousand of those who are struggling and can't make it for one reason or another. Some people are just in places that are too saturated or have people who just don't want any video work. It's really the luck of the draw. So, proceed at your own risk.
Do you have to make a certain amount of money to be a "Filmmaker"? Anyone can be a filmmaker. Some of the most talented videographers and story tellers are super small as far as social media goes but they are DAMN good filmmakers.
Another asterisk. Being a filmmaker doesn’t mean you’re trying to make money. It could be simply as making a piece of art. Ie. like a painter. Now if you’re talking about making a living off being a filmmaker then yes that’s a whole different realm.
@@thegrizz__ I never said you have to make a certain amount of money but the course and youtube channel is called FULLTIME FILMMAKER. So many times in this channels videos and in the course it talks about how so many people have quit their jobs and become fulltime filmmakers. Yes, you could do it as a side thing just for fun or simply as art. But, again that's not the main point of the channel or course.
@@RickyTheCreator So you create art and make no money off of it? You spent all that money for the course, your camera, lenses, lights, batteries, your computer and everything else to not make money at it? There's nothing wrong with doing something you love simply for the love of it but if you can't make money at it then it becomes nothing more than an expensive hobby.
Great Content love your story Started making £ with local councils etc also building up a youtube channel interviewing interesting people just need to cram how to do online interviews when i get these skills would love to get you on for a chat thanks for valuable content
Can you please make a tutorial on how to make best possible solo film with an "Android" phone? It can be with Samsung or pixel. Because the quality of an iphone is so close to a professional camera.
I like this video a lot and a lot of useful information in a period but the fast pace shot changes are making me dizzy. Lol maybe my attention span is not that terrible and I can live with shots though breathe a little longer.
That was literally me 4 years ago, trying to figure out how to become a filmmaker or editor or youtuber professionally (spoiler alert, I made it). What I found is that youtube will give you all the technical information you need to know, and bonus if you buy an online course like full time filmmaker. However the 2 most important parts to remember are 1. Your first videos will be bad, but if you dont make them you will never get past them and you will never learn from them. That goes for everything from recording to editing to publishing or even just sharing your work with friends. 2. Once you get past figuring the basics out you need to learn to identify what the point of the video is. Narrative? Informational? Maybe its just a way of expressing your creativity, like your own way of journaling. Figure out what you are giving to the people that watch it. Then of course how do you actually give it to them. I would actually recommend an online course from major youtube editor Haden Hiller Smith called “Edit like an Artist with Haden Hiller Smith” This was the thing that took my work to new heights. I am now 18 and edit short documentaries for youtube for a multi million dollar organization. I took some chances, made dumb decisions, figured things out the hard way, made plenty of mistakes, and still make plenty of mistakes. But 3 months into my job with 4 of my videos out my work has been seen over half a million times. Nothing changes because you are 14, if anything you have the advantage because you can afford to make mistakes, your path will be different then mine, you will learn different things in different ways. However, to answer your question. “What if you are 14 years old?” To that I say start now. Go for it because you got this.
Been a Fulltime Filmmaker student for years now and am still rewatching the course constantly trying to improve my skills DAILY! Worth it! Thanks Landon 👊🏼

Just a moment of respect for how well the editing and aesthetic for the videos have been since Landon took over
This is more like it. Instead of being one long commercial for certain products, you actually talk about film making.👍🏻

I wish I could of seen this video 9 years ago when I started my videography journey ! Really good information all in 18 minutes ! Love it !

A hobby should stay as a hobby I think, otherwise it just feels different once you start making money out of it
Nicht schlecht! Viel interessantes Info 👍
Idea for the next video: Epidemic sound vs Musicbed - which is better?
Dream come true 😮
Great video
Do with a point and shoot camera
Landon. You should take me on as an intern. I can’t afford full time filmmaker.
Same, yet I really need it so bad. These guys are the best in the business hands down.

This was very interesting, but you should consider buying a new chair for editing. Your back will thank you.
Where do you get your text from?
This is great but where’s that Utah hat from? 🧐
