I was thinking about buying a timer. As I looked at Amazon, I realized I had just purchased a pack of 2 minute sand timers for my kids to use when brushing their teeth. Those might be perfect for the times I want to get started and hopefully keep going.

I kinda do this when I have to do housework. I usually tell myself I’m going to get as much done as I can in 10 minutes. Usually I get more done than I thought I would and most the time after the 10 minutes is up, I decide to keep going.

    HAHAHAHA 1:55 has me cackling😂
I subscribed to your channel a few years ago and then I was super adhd/in a Lyme flare so the brain wasn’t doing the whole “learning new info” thing too well-but I finally got mostly past that, and unfortunately my UA-cam algorithm kinda suuucks, and your content wasn’t showing up anywhere (even though I have you on “alert all”!
ANYWAYS, I’m SO beyond thrilled to have “rediscovered” your page. I’ve noticed a significant shift in you (in literally the most positive/BEST way possible!)-maybe it has something to do with you becoming a mama or other things in your life I don’t know about, but it really shows through your newer content and I’m LOVING IT ALL!!!
I think I got some anxiety/overwhelm from some of the vids from years ago, perhaps? I don’t remember what it was. But your attitude toward life is now so refreshingly relaxed but WITHOUT settling for not showing up as our best selves. You’ve taken any of the “stressy” factors that most influencers tend to use-likely without realizing it at all….I assume it’s just a part of being a productive/entrepreneurial person. But your content is different from that now, and I cannot get over how obsessed I am. On 24/7 bed days (most as of now), I can genuinely enjoy watching videos that are productive-and productivity vids are rarely on the docket when I’m feeling so tired body and mind.
Anyways, whatever has created your truly awesome/contagiously wonderful vibes these days-I’m SO happy for you. Well, come to think about it-you likely created whatever’s led to it yourself! So perhaps a congrats is in order? Haha I’m just so glad I FINALLY came across one of your videos and have started binging. Your tips are so so good, doable-you’re fun and so likable and I love how the format feels more like talking to a friend than being lectured….just all around freakin CHEF’S KISS!!!
Your content is truly life changing and amazing and blah blah I could go on (because….adhd) but I’m shutting down the overhearing shizzzzz NOW!
    🤗🫨🙃☺️

I appreciate this perspective so much. I think I feel similarly that there was a time when productivity videos just needed to take a break in many people's lives. But I feel now that they can be in someone's life if it's the right time for them and it's okay if it's not. It makes me so happy that you feel this is a welcoming experience for you and that you are enjoying it. Thank you for being here!

Week 3 of hitting it out of the park. 🎉 Something else I would like to to see is what to do when we don’t follow through perfectly on our goals and plans (or maybe dismally failing?) and then how to move forward making the best of everything, and do better next time. (How do we figure out what part went wrong, what are some strategies to fix it, or - how do we know when to “give up” on a version of something - at least for the time being.) Like I am pretty sure at some point we all think we are the only ones that set little goals and then it doesn’t go well. Or like - well maybe other people don’t follow through perfectly all the time, but “successful people” do. Sorry that was all over the place. Let me know if it didn’t make sense and I will try to explain it differently. 😅

I was never a procrastinator until I retired. I've been retired 7 years now. But it is time that I kick myself in the ass and stop procrastinating. So what I am doing is forcing myself to work on my house for a minimum of 2 hours a day. Some days I have a list of things that need to be done and I go do them, or other days I walk around the house and clean or fix things as I come across them. But it is amazing what gets done in those 2 hours! 14 hours a week. I just started this program and I know it will eventually become rote and my house will be clean and immaculate and will free me up to do the fun stuff because everything will be in order. And because I'm doing it every single day, it will get easier than staring at piles of stuff that seem daunting.

First day of applying the 2 minute rule. It worked VERY well. Accomplished many small projects and made a big difference. New perspective of not being overwhelmed ...freeing!

I use to think about something too much that I would get tired just thinking about what I had to do so I would put it off but would get stressed out and frustrated cause things were piling up and the more I put of it was that much more to do So instead of just sitting there thinking about if I want to do it or not I just get up and do it and feel so good once I do it now I just make myself do it right away because it's going to make me feel good and not all depressed cause it's not getting done These are learned behaviors the more you do it the easier it gets to get it done You feel better about yourself and feel productive Don't get me wrong sometimes I still get in a rut but I keep trying to press forward as much as I can👍

Love this... Watching as I take a break from work. You inspired me to get back at it and just do 2 more minutes! Great tip for planning/brainstorming too, will definitely use this tip for my business activities that are so easy to just let slide and never get to. ❤

Love your motivation for productivity and get things done videos. Sometimes I write them down on paper, but don't follow through until last min deadlines, which I am trying to change now and moving forward.

Spending months thinking about something you don’t want to think about: reminds me of a kid who doesn’t want to eat a food, so they hold it in their mouth LONGER. I’m going to picture myself doing that the next time I’m thinking about one of those tasks!
