Jason, you are by far the best piano teacher on the internet. You cover everything in detail, break it down slowly so it is easy to understand and apply. You explain the theory behind everything you teach, and provide so many different examples of how to apply what you teach. Thank you!
Jason, you are a wonderful piano teacher. I love your lessons. They are always so beautiful and melodic. You deserve a million subscribers. I can't understand why you're still not discovered by the big mass of piano students.

@@nathanielschool Sir could you please tell if it's necessary to learn western classical grade by grade or one could learn to play piano by practicing all the scales ,chords ,arpeggios and playing songs by tutorials ?
I've been learning left hand patterns for a while. They require quite a bit of practice. I've found that starting with just a major (or minor) scale over the LH pattern helps build cement the pattern in the RH. Too much going on in the RH until the LH is totally embedded in the brain will cause the LH to get lost. It takes more practice than I had originally thought it would but the results are worth it. Thanks for another excellent and beautiful lesson. You are fantastic teacher!!
I've followed along and learned from many different online teachers over the years including as a start The Piano Guy (Scott Houston), moving to a cheating way of sheet music reading by Shawn Cheek, PianoNote videos on progressions, many many random videos, and finally coming to realize the value of your videos more and more over the years. For someone who really just wants to play what's in their head your video series hit all the problem spots. Thank you so much for these! Along those lines, this video adds great improvisational ideas on a song long past learned. With fewer and fewer hours to get to practice songs, which I eventually forget, I get much more value in improvisation using learned techniques.
Thank you Jason, very helpful on using a simple arpeggio pattern and improvising on the scales, matching what I sing, I always learn something new with your teaching, keep it up, thanks again 👌
This is called Alberti bass, and has been used in Classical music since the 1700's. It is simply a method of adding more movement to your music by arppegiating the chords in the left hand creating 2 moving parts on a piano, or with orchestral instruments in an orchestra piece between the melody on top, and the bass below it, simply creating 3 moving parts....Peace!
You are such an amazing wealth of information sir! And it’s awesome that you are sharing it freely for those who wish to learn. Thanks a lot for making such lovely clear and interesting videos.
What a wonderful lesson, sir. This is so melodious, I had to listen to many parts of this video where you were improvising, on repeat. They were soulful and soothing. Thanks and God bless for posting such valuable lessons.
Very nice ideas. I can already play Amelie, the original film theme. but that was not easy to learn with the original sheet music. But of course you're right that you can do a lot more with this l - h - m - h method. In this way to improvise melodic pieces over the singing to play a melody which one has in mind is a very good possibility to play simple but very beautiful harmonies. Thank you very much for your detailed explanation of how this can be put into practice, it is very helpful for daily practice in the brain and on the piano. Greetings from Germany, God with you, Dimitri
Hi Jason, you are a very patient teacher, I love to watch your videos. I always like to learn singing the song "Always On My Mind". Will appreciate if you could teach the rhythm accompaniment on this song. Thankyou so much.
Amélie theme sounds beautiful, ... this one will definitely help in practice, at the same time create something nice ... would definitely like to see a Amélie Piano Theme teaching, as to how to.
The chord transition/arpegiation between E G B & D is terrific in left hand. Wonderful concept👍👍 and playing melody in one of these scales will be really nice in right hand. But the iffy part being how to land the arpegiation keys exactly while concentrating on melody🤔. I think this whole part to sync may take atleast 6 months of hard work!!! I am keenly watching your videos. And the lockdown helps to spend more time😀 But can we beat the myth of 6 months⁉️
It is not a big problem to connect the right and left hands when changing chords. only a single note changes in the chord. It took me about 1 month to learn the original Amelie with the original score, so that I can play it fluently several times in a row. With variation and improvisation, it is up to you how heavy your melody is that you want to play. You should generally practice the chord changes so that you don't have to think about them later, so that the chords are in hand without thinking which chord you are currently playing. Something like that can also be practiced separately in order to master this. So you can change the chords with both hands and practice with different rhythms. There are enough videos here in the channel for that: ua-cam.com/play/PLrNNL05e9FT85tF6cGvZK6jc5u6yZg5uU.html
