I'm here after Thanksgiving 2019, having watched "Yesterday" about my all time favorite band, and this video makes me want to learn to play guitar. But I'm a 54-year old man and my fingers (and the fear that comes with trying new things at middle-age) are making me a little reluctant, but I do want to learn. If I could learn this one song, one of my all-time favorites, I'll be happy.
Sounds good. Learning to play guitar is not for sissies. It takes guts, courage, and time. Of course, the idea of playing guitar is a strong one. Maybe you just like the idea of it and should be satisfied with that?
I like the idea of owning a horse but it takes a lot of time, grooming, housing, and food. Think I'll just go to a friend's house and ride his horse once in a while.
Egis, When I was a kid I wanted to learn guitar, my parents gave me a cheap guitar and a confusing book, I found it too hard and gave it up. Then in my fifties I got my wife to give me a starter electric and I set out to learn again. I started taking lesson from a teacher at the local music store. Today at 72, I sing and play locally. I wish I had stuck with it as a kid, but nothing you can do abour that. If you want to do it you can, you and I will probably never rival Clapton, but you can do it and enjoy the journey.

What type of strings do you use? They sound great!
Davey D'Addario EJ 16's on this guitar. I have tried different strings from time to time but I keep coming back to D'Addario. :)
Im 4 years late but that video just popped in my filter. U should actually play a B minor instead of a b7 since the song is in G. Hope u see that comment and it can helps u feel the song even better when playing
You are correct that Bm is in the key of G Guillaume but when using a B chord in this song the B is the secondary dominant to the Em that comes right before it. I see chords charts that use the Bm and some that use the B7. Here is one that uses both. tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the-beatles/i-want-to-hold-your-hand-chords-513756 I suggested the use of the B7 for someone who cannot play the B barre chord because it's easier to play, but I like the sound of the B better than the B7. Actually, in the verse it sounds pretty cool to use the Bm first and then the B right before the Chorus. Thank you so much for your input and comment! Hal

Hi Mike, I hate to disagree with you but it is a major chord. Ultimate guitar agrees with me. Not that they are the ultimate authority on these things but all B chords in this song are major. Or you can play them as 7th chords. tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the-beatles/i-want-to-hold-your-hand-chords-17419
@quailstudios The Minor followed by the Major follows the tune/vocals more closely and to my ears sounds better. I'll be guided by them and other sources Ive seen. Main thing is we enjoy playing.

So enlighten us Miguel. Okay I will: B7th instead of G on the penultimate "I want to hold your hand" and then C and D on the final "I want to hold your" ending with six strums of C on "hand" ending with a G chord on the drawn out "hand."
