    I love all your videos! You helped me pass my CPC certification test in Dec ‘23. And I’m one that cannot break into the job system. Every single opening requires 2 years experience. Feeling so defeated & I want this career so badly. Like many, I’ve invested tons of time & energy & time away from family just to get certified. So to not get a job in the system is really heartbreaking. I loved learning coding, I’d just like help getting my foot in the door. And I have applied to other positions in the health field with no progress

      @@Imloved26 I went to a tech school a few years ago for a medical coding specialist program. I had my CCA for 2 years to help me get my foot in the door and got a job as a charge analyst. For the CPC exam I ordered the AAPC study guide book, it comes with 3 practice exams. I feel like the practice exams and study guide book helped me prepare a lot since I hadn’t used my coding book in like 2 years (I don’t code directly as a charge analyst). Hope that helps 🫶🏽

    Hi, I’ve been watching your videos. I have question, I went to school for ICD9 years ago but never used my certificate. I have been in the medical office setting for over 20yrs. Once I complete my billing coding course with preppy, will that prior training be helpful in getting my first billing coding job?

  • @amybishop154
    @amybishop154 6 місяців тому +2

    I finished the coder Preppy Course in January and I'm currently studying to take the CPC Exam. My question is, do you know a resource where I can ask coding questions. For example I'm currently using AAPC's Exam Review and one of the frequently missed questions is about CPT coding a "programmable pump implantation for chemotherapy" but it tells you the code to use but I can't for the life of me figure out where you go in the CPT index to find the code range for that procedure....I need help understanding where to look because, pump, implantation, chemotherapy, programmable pump, reservoir pump, none give the code 62362.

      @@erikaruv22 I think the program was very good. I have not been placed in my externship yet as they are having a hard time finding one for me. They say there aren't many options nearby. They initially tried to place me in a dental office but there was zero CPT or ICD-10 coding so they are looking again. But overall it was great and Auburn University was very responsive.

    I may have overlooked it, but if you haven’t made a video of this would you be willing to discuss what a typical day looks like for auditors or compliance analysts with regards to coding? I’m in the healthcare field now and my area has no room for advancement- I would love to possibly go the route of coding and am interested in what auditors and compliance analysts essentially do and if it’s something that I’d be great at or have interest in. Thanks for these videos, I found them today and I’m hooked!

      Why is everyone having trouble finding jobs with no experience.

    • @jeannieschrader7998
      @jeannieschrader7998 5 місяців тому

      @@jazminarce3314 This pretty common no matter what field you go into. Most employers want on average six months to one year of experience, Only exceptions are jobs like retail and food service. Teachers have to student teach at minimum and usually have more luck if they substitute first. Nurses have to complete a clinical for practical experience and then usually have to take jobs in urgent care, nursing homes, or hospital er to get their foot in the door. There are very few truly entry level jobs these days. Even to work in the front office or be a file clerk they want experience. Its just easier for them because the person can start right away with little training. Any kind of externship or internship can help get you some experience. I've heard that sometimes you have to start in other related health jobs like supply clerk or file clerk and work your way up. So basically look at your local hospitals, urgent care such as med express, or nursing homes for entry level opportunities.
