The “end all be all “ to unstick a motor is to pull the heads, get some animal shavings from the pet shop soak them in diesel pack the cylinders and light each cylinder on fire. The heat will expand the cylinders breaking the piston’s free. If this still gives you trouble reinstall the heads reusing the old gasket and just tighten them down, no need to torque next take an old spark plug from the motor get all the porcelain and the center electrode out. Next braze a grease fitting to the plug -what’s left of it. Install that into a plug hole and start pumping in grease, the pressure from the grease filling the cylinder with the head on will break the pistons free

I appreciate the comment about getting old "clunker" cars operational with basic tools. Earlier today, I saw a poor family driving around in a car that had no window glass on it other than the front windscreen. The windows were missing, not rolled down. It rains every day here in Florida and that family probably uses plastic tarps to keep the water out. New glass is out of their price range.
Automobiles are essential to get to work around here. Doing whatever it takes to keep what may be that one car running is essential for survival.

We did most of our main wrenching (in high school) in my friend Paul's front yard...had the perfect oak tree for pulling motors and always nice shade. For an added bonus, Paul's Mom would bring "cold snacks" out to us! To show our gratitude, we always kept the yard clean for her...good fun back in the early 70s!

I miss my blazer. It was one of those 80s military ones with the 6.2l detroit diesel .
Ahhhh I loved that thing to death. It wasn't fast, but man it went everywhere. Eventually I rolled it when a brake line swolled up internally and didn't let fluid back out one side when I hit the brakes hard. Rolled it down a hill and landed on the wheels. It drove home after that (without brakes).
Had to sell it to get another car so I could go to college. Biggest mistake ever, because shortly afterwards I found a guy selling a preem k5 blazer body on craigslist for 500 bucks. Man I feel so bad about that!
Wound up driving a 71 Valiant with a slant six throughout college. Still have it to this day.

Cut the armature shaft and weld a socket to it. Now mound it and have a gear reduction on the flywheel. If there is clearance you might get a big breaker bat. But any ratchets will given the same leverage as what you had but with gears.

Usually the problem with stuck motors is that the rings seize to the side of the cylinder walls. Priming the oil system isn't going to help that problem. That's why they fill the cylinders with ATF or similar-to try to break up the rust on the rings.

Thanks Kevin. The Blazer is kinda like Mook said . Burn it. Yes the motor is shot. Bad combination of events. Thank you for sharing. 💯👍

Leave it to Kevin to get an engine running in a video. Never fails to amaze everyone. Good to see Mook in your video as well. To bad about the Blazer hopefully you can get a body for it and get the motor unseized. Looks like it might have potential.

Poor Blazer, what a shame. I will say though that straightening a K5 body with a skid steer is exactly the kind of content I subscribed for 😂

I have a 1990 last full size like that one, except for it is a GMC High Sierra Jimmy with the same interior and mine is mint, perfect, and flawless.
