Just wanted to say thanks for making this video. I used it to install a BBSHD on my RX over two years ago and I still link people to this video if they are looking for a good step by step. Clear camera angles and easy to follow explanations of everything. Nice job, thanks again, and happy riding!
Great video, as always! Always always always change out your rear hub motor when running a powerful mid-drive or your rip the freewheel off the motor cover as it's not designed to handle the torque.
Where did you source your rear tire have not been able to find a 20in fat wheel for a decent price. I'm planning to take the internals out of the hub motor and run a new axle thru it but if I could find a good price on a new wheel I would go with that
Good to watch a new video as stuck at home staying healthy besides a ride a day on my midrive thanks for great advice getting a midrive as they are superior

Hey Brian, Thanks for your videos brother these were great. Is there anyway to upgrade my Super 73 R (not RX) to something more powerful? I like the setup alot but I do wish I had a bit more power. I've been doing a bit of research but would love any advice you may have. Right now the R gets me to 31mph max, it would be amazing to get it up to 40mph if possible
I am trying to figure out how the motor and the front sprocket works. I would think that when the motor is spinning that the cranks would be spinning too. Or is there some kind of freewheel in the sprocket that mates up to the motor?

Awesome bro .. i can’t wait to swap mine over. I don’t think we’re going traveling this year due to the coronavirus so I could probably come down there any time in the spring
Nice vid Brian 👍. Yeah the bbshd 1000w mid drive is def the way to go, I’ve been consistently getting a top speed of around 30 - 35 mph on the flat (with a pannier rack and child seat mounted) and Im a bit heavier than you unfortunately. Great bikes and great motor, and thanks for the info buddy
Love watching your videos. I am a little disappointed in the top speed you posted for the mid drive From what you said before after you got the hub drive and controller working properly you were getting 35 MPH top speed. With the mid drive you said you are getting 28 to 32 MPH top speed. I got a 750 watt Juiced Scrambler and it does 28 to 29 mph on full charge and after about 25 miles riding I still get 27 mph. I got my Camp Scrambler with the 19.5 AH 52 volt battery. I was expecting the mid drive to do the same 35 mph as the hub drive but with quicker acceleration and more useable power for up hill pulls. I also saw that Mario bike is now selling bafang 1000 watt mid drive motors on some of their bikes now.
Yes the mud drive has a ton limit . With a ASI controller you can get over 40mph. But the reliability and range and climb power I gained was worth a small drop in too speed. Hub motor are fast on flat ground for sure, but hit a hill and they do struggle. I also like the mid drive feel as oppose to a hub. Personal preference. Thanks for watching, sorry I missed this comment.
Great video! I was wondering when you'd have the swap completed. Question. If I wanted to keep all the same components and only swap out the motor, is that possible? I like Luna's products but like my current display and battery set up.
Glad you like the information in the video I hope it's a good guide line to the swap. To answer you question, yes to all, the display will plug right in as well as the battery. I just wanted a smaller display was the only reason I swapped, and I thought the new Luna battery looked cool.. thanks for watching.. hope your swap goes easy..
@@briandhoward6137 awesome! Thanks for the reply my brother. I'm gonna keep riding the crap out of the MAC until it blows up. But this gives me a LOT of confidence going forward if/when that happens.

mid drives are trash. way better to use a hub motor that is connected to gears. hub motors are way more powerful than any mid drive due to having larger windings and ability to handle heat and more amps
If you like a 25+ pound rear wheel, and the ability to not have smooth power on something that can take a beating and has a separate controller hubs are great. I did like hubs for many reasons but one is the , 25+ pounds in the rear of the bike, where a mid drive is at the lowest point and centered, and weight is 12 pounds. I'll take a mid drive over a hub everytime. But that's what's great about choices. We can all roll what we prefer. But to say one is better then another is silly , it's personal preference.
