My door was going half way down and going back up, then all the way down and back up half way. I reprogrammed from this video and now it works like a charm. Thanks for the sub two minute video to get this fixed.
Found your video while sitting on top of my Suburban in my garage, trying to figure out what was causing my door not to close. Got it working again a few minutes later. Thanks for the video.

My down limit would record a little further than I wanted and close too hard. By setting the limit a little early, with just a little light sunlight peeking underneath, the overlap is just right.
No more thud at closing!

Note (per Chamberlain instructions):
After you do ANY adjustments, the safety reversal system MUST be tested. With the door fully open, place a one-inch board (or a 2x4 laid flat) on the floor, centered under the garage door.
Operate the door in the down direction. The door must reverse when striking the obstruction.
what if the door wont stay down?
Mine just goes 1/4 down when pressing down on the adjustment .. I have tried it a dozen times

I do all the steps but when I press the down button to finish the programming my garage motor clicks twice like an error and it doesn't finish the process

How can I adjust the speed (force) of the Chamberlain Garage Door Opener? The opener is about 2 years old, but the speed on the door seems to have slowed a bit, and I would like to increase the speed. Thank You
but how do you fine tune it? there re is delay between the time down button is released to when the door stops moving. Its hard to time it right and it seems like the door opening is crushing my garage door!

HELP! I did just what you said. After I got the door to the bottom, closed desired position, the LIGHT BLINKED 5 times! Directions says this means I took TO LONG ot finish! I tried this 6 times and fast much faster than you and does NOT give me the up arrow to see if it works. It blinks FIVE time. IF I HIT my remote the door is already down and JAMS VERY hard and starts to BEND the rail that holds my belt!

I just went out and messed with it som more and got it to work.. Started with the garage door up programmed the up limit hit select then went to program the down limit but only let the door down 3 inches and hit select. It still didnt take me the the next step that test the up and down limit but it worked.. Definitly a flaw in design

Hi I'm having trouble on the 4th and last step. When I hit the down button, the door travels about a foot and stops. Down arrow button blinks several times. I've tried several times. Can you help?

Kody Houser Reprogramming was not the issue for me either. What I concluded was that since the garage door WOULD close while I was reprogramming but not immediately thereafter, my problem was purely a mechanical one. So, my fix was in adjusting the metal tracks. I loosened all the bolts that keep the tracks fastened to the wall, and I used a mallet to pound the tracks further apart, but only a by small distance. Watch this video starting at 2:30 for information on that. You can eyeball the alignment of where the track needs to be by comparing it to the edge of the garage door frame. After straightening the tracks, I had no further problems with the travel of my garage door. Hope this helps!

Thank you! The instructions that came with my Chamberlain door opener does not even mention the final steps, The instructions stop with once the door reaches the desired closed position press and release the adjustment button. I hate it when instructions are not complete.
You don’t want any sunlight or you will get bugs / critters.
