Got this album way back when it first came out. It ROCKED my world. I didn't know Christian music, let alone heavy metal, could sound that good.
My absolute favorite song of theirs is "Alone In Suicide" from their Detonation album. It is a banger of a song.

Had the privilege of helping promote a show at a local rock club in Springfield, Missouri in the late 80's. Great guys!!! Fantastic live band... That night, a girl was going to commit suicide and changed her mind.

I bought a copy of "Trenches of Rock" on Bluray. Worth Every Penny.
The remasters were more or less to get more of the bass presence (especially on _Rock In a Hard Place_ ) and widen the stereo image a bit

The drummer passed away about a year before Michael Bloodgood passed. It has saddened me as I have been a fan since they debuted in 1986 with their self titled album and opened for Stryper in Portland, Oregon on the Soldiers Under Command tour.

I was at Michael’s very last show in Ohio and met him and he signed my vinyl. Chris Jericho was there to emcee the show in Ohio. Michael had a massive stroke literally a day or so after the show. Yes there is a documentary out.

Darrell Mansfield, a blues man, produced and/or engineered this album and that was the reason I bought it. It did not disappoint. Their music had a harder edge than Stryper’s and their lyrics were great. Bloodgood and Stryper continue to be my favorite metal bands to this day, but I never got to see Bloodgood live. Their musicianship, song writing and lyrics were top notch.

Give Narnia a shot. They don't have much of a following in the US but they've toured with Stryper and Yngwie Malmsteen has noted how much their guitarist, CJ, was influenced by him .

Bloodgood were pioneers in Christian metal. With the passing of Michael it's been confirmed that the band is no more. Sad to hear of Michael's passing.
Detonation is by far my favorite Bloodgood album.
Michael was the bas player and did backup vocals.
To me when David Zaffiro (guitar) left the band they just weren't the same.
While not my most favorite song this is a good song.
And speaking of Tourniquet we all woke up to the news on Saturday morning that Ted Kirkpatrick passed (drummer)
Both bands were working on a new album. Not sure as to what's going to happen on that front.

Bloodgood! (Miss you brother Michael). Of all the 80s metal bands, probably the one I listen to most nowadays. Sadly, I never got to see them in concert. I always really dug the sound of this album. David's guitar tone is just sits on the line between classic tube fuzz to classic metal crunch. The tone on the next album, _Detonation_ even more wild.
    Top tracks:
    "Alone in Suicide"
"Top of the Mountain" (Live version)
    "Rounded are the Rocks"
    "Crucify" + "The Messiah"
@Shane Diablo I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I did listen to a bit of the Carpenters way back when. "We've Only Just Begun", especially. something of a family favorite round here.

Jainda When I first heard Christian heavy metal, I was shocked because I was a fan of Petra. I didn’t know there was such a thing as Christian heavy metal thought it was Roxanne I was very shocked, but I really did. I really do love them because they were really pull you into the message of Jesus Christ and I do love Christian heavy metal and Christian rock although I don’t call Tia call bellowing but that’s not that I don’t like it. I just can’t call it singing

Not a huge fan of this song, but fitting with the recent passing of Michael Bloodgood. Their album Detonation is one of the few albums I would consider perfect.
