I bought the EoD edition back in 2017 when they promised wiping would someday come to and end now you have these annoying fans who love the wipes. I hate them and feel it's a waste of my life to keep grinding the start over and over. It's the same as a seasonal WoW character, a dumb idea.
Have bad a bunch of people trying to get me to get it. I'm glad I never did. The whole not on steam and some random Russian never sat well with me. And that's not even a valid or reasonable take.
Its like a an offer on free eggs at a store and the cashier says, "Its not an egg, It's a thing that is laid by a chicken that has a shell, and a yolk inside." lol
Isn't this fraud? If I bought the EoD edition prior to this change then I was promised access to all subsequent dlc. Not only are BSG not giving me the product I paid for, but they are charging me extra to get something I already paid for. "Yeah, you paid for this. But the deal has changed. Now you gotta pay double." This can't possibly be legal.
This is alittle unrelated but its how i felt when i bought ESO digital collectors edition or some shit like that(it was a 150 pre order) played the game until the first dlc came out and it said i didnt own it, contacted bethesda and they pretty much said well have you tried buying it? Like bruh i already did
@@itz_otto BSG indebted itself with the promotion and development of Arena and so now they try and make up for it to develop their new Russia 2028 license. I think that was the joke.
I spent WAY less than all that on optional dlc on sunbreak, just because I wanted to make super goofy characters. some people are bonkers when they feel like whaling on a game.
Unheard is effectively a replacement for an older version of the game which cost about $150, "Edge of Darkness." Edge of Darkness was billed as "get every update/expansion/DLC for Tarkov." Now they changed the deal: EOD does not include all the stuff in "Unheard." Unheard by itself costs $250 and if you have EOD in order to get the features in Unheard you gotta pay an additional $100. Moreover, there is an unauthorized version of the game called "Singleplayer Tarkov" SPT. SPT has been around for years. SPT _REQUIRES_ users to own a legit, paid-for version of EFT to run (it is not piracy, though admittedly it is a breach of TOS). SPT allows you to play offline in singleplayer mode (though no coop). SPT runs just as well or better than EFT. There are many mods for SPT which allow the user to expand and adjust the game as they please. Effectively SPT is 97.5% of the joy of Tarkov: but with ZERO of the bullshit of Live Tarkov (cheaters, long queue times, grindy game mechanics that can be modded to the users tastes). There is a graphics mod for SPT which improves performance AND appearance of the game dramatically. There are no other players in SPT, all opponents are Bots. Those Bots are BETTER than the ones in Live (and in Unheard) and in some ways even more challenging than non-cheating players. And all of this takes place after the "Wiggle That Killed Tarkov" saga from about a year ago in which a player bought cheats and demonstrated how pervasive cheating is in the game (it is epidemic). You actually did a video on that video by UA-camr G0aT.
Not entirely. There's some negatives to having that item equipped. You also need to have 6+ fence trader rep which takes time to get. You also lose fence rep for harming scavs as a pmc and you get half exp for killing scavs as a pmc when that item is equipped. But having scavs not shoot you from 60+ meters does make you more stealthy which is a pvp advantage.
Scavs won't aggro if you're 60+ meters away you have 6+ scav rep which less than 1% of the player base will achieve. I'm against this version so don't think I'm trying to say this is the wrong decision but I'm not going to call this pay to win. Sniper scavs aren't relevant.
That's their idea, that's why they don't try to ban or detect hackers, their idea is to have the game horrible so you WILL NEED to pay the best bersion, so you have higher chances to win.
@@tylertrysepi9203 if you still have the itch just play SPT with more mods. Its not the same as PvP ofcourse but its a nice little singleplayer rpg shooter.
In some places it's like: monthly rent = tarkov Like it's literally a quarter of minimal pay per month. I can get groceries for that month in around the same amount of money. Get my car filled with gas from empty to full 5 times and drive it for 3 months. I can get that, or get tarkov to play co-op solo, because nobody out of my friends will get it to play it too, since it's just a bonkers price tag.
I wanted to add something here. The guy on stream said that the games are taking exponentially more to make, which isn't entirely true considering the tools are WAY better. But also, the supply of a game is infinite, it cost them no more money to sell to 2 compared to 1 person. And there is at least 100x more gamers than there was in lets say the 90's, probably MUCH more than that, I'd be willing to bet it's 1000s of times higher. ON THE UPSIDE, as stupid as this is, he is right that cheating is almost impossible to stop, but one surefire way to prevent it is to charge 250 for your game so that when you ban a cheater they're gone for good lol.
As someone who purchased the EOD edition and after looking at my emails, I can confirm that it says: -Guaranteed instant access to closed beta -Digital copy pre-load -Huge size of stash (10x66) -Additional equipment and resources in stash -Initially good standings with all in-game traders -Unique in-game ID -Free access to all subsequent DLCs (Season pass) Edit: I purchased it in december 2019
@@wretchelttv The problem is, I doubt that would hold up in a court. Nowhere did they say the co-op mode is a DLC which I feel like would win them the case. It's super scummy and I'm not a lawyer so hopefully I'm wrong, but it seems like that would be their argument and it'd be hard to sue them.
@@IIMiikexDII dlc is just downloadable content. You don't get to define what is and isn't downloadable content as a developer, there's rules to classifying these things. The thing that makes it DLC is the simple fact that it's extra content for Tarkov that can be bought and added to the game but isn't necessary to own to play the game.
The guy in the interview kept trying to white wash the pay 2 win aspect that was always there because he likely got that 150$ version and was trying to say he wasn't pay 2 win when it's pay 2 win. getting your stash to lvl 4 without paying real life money is an endeavor, paying an extra 100$ to have that done at the start of your wipe is a HUGE advantage. The extra space makes it so you are able to keep so much more equipment and so much more misc items around until you unlock the flea market at lvl 15 and then you get to sell that stuff at a premium on the flea market while those who have a lvl 1 storage have to sell most everything to the AI stores that will rip you off or else they just wont have any room for anything. This is more so with the recent addition making it so that to upgrade your hideout (which is what you have to do to upgrade your stash if you didnt pay 2 win) you need items 'Found in Raid' which means you need to keep all your misc stuff you find for future use in your hideout and if you cant physically keep them in your stash because of a lack of space it just makes it harder to upgrade your stash.
I own a copy of Tarkov, we've always complained that there should be a PvE mode (even just a single player would do) just so that we don't get smoked by sweats after coming home from our jobs, and these same sweats laugh at us telling us to just get good, with the developers telling us that it would never happen. Then people just decided to create a single player mod for Tarkov, which then the developers banned, and your Tarkov account could get banned if you used this mod. Now, they want us to pay for that exact same thing. Good luck with that, it should have been a part of the standard edition, and player accounts should have never been banned for playing SP Tarkov.
You can’t get banned for playing SPTarkov so long as you install it properly (it’s not hard at all to install properly, it’s actually stupid easy to do).
@@hydra1683-m7u I know that part, but anyone who bought the game should never get banned when using mods in the first place, regardless of how you install it, as long as it doesn't negatively impact anyone else.
i'm so blackpilled about video games monetization that the only thing I can think of when seeing this is ''doesn't matter, people will empty their wallets like brain dead zombies just like all sport games players. The outrage doesn't matter, Madden and co get record sales each year that passes''.
Yea I've played tarkov on and off since alpha in 2016 and I'm in the "it doesnt matter go outside or play a diff game and realize tarkov is dying" mental
I disagree. Tarkov is a difficult and horrible game to play with very low and high moments. It's player base is very invested and have spent a ton of time on it. I have 700 hours and I just started to get better. The fanbase is pissed right now and most won't wanna play the game after this as bsg has shown they don't care about their playerbase for a while now, this is just the final straw
@@aFoolsMartyryup that’s what I’m thinking too, if the community falls for this one and eats it, then it’s a big chance they will do that again in the future
It's more than $250, because they don't include taxes in the display price, but you can't see the final price unless you create an account on their site. So everyone says that it's $250, when it's actually more like $300-350 after taxes, depending on your region. Same for the upgrade from Edge of Darkness edition, it's not just $100 but more like $125-150.
Wait wait wait, hear me out In order to play co-op with a team of 4 people That's $1000 Could we let that sink in? We're all focused so hard on $250. It has a four-player co-op mode, you guys. That means $1000 needs to be spent to play with 4 people co-op.
As almond said, you have a game where the community is willing to pay £150 for an edition and won't complain about microtransactions. In the way they were discussing microtransactions "cosmetic only" we were okay with. Then it was additional stash lines (more storage), it honestly helps a lot early wipe, you have more room for more kits so everyone kind of agreed it slightly pay to win but they need the revenue. The community was pissed that they put so many resources into Arena for it to flop and them need the revenue but it died down into "well they tried something to generate revenue so they don't depend on cheaters and rmt rebuying the game. It flopped. But we love tarkov so find another way to generate revenue". The subreddit was literally begging them to charge us like £10 for a cat/dog for our hideout, so we could contribute. Instead of something like that.. we have this. A massive FU to EOD accounts and a system that leans heavily into pay to win. Sad times
Here is the thing. I've owned Tarkov for nearly 4 years. I've played a total of maybe 20 hours. 12 of those hours were using a solo mod. I own the EOD edition, and I'd come back to play the PVE mode with friends, if not just to try it. I work a lot, so I'd probably even spend money on microtransactions. This could bring back players who do not have time to commit to a game with such a large skill ceiling. Those returning players could potentially get their friends to buy the game or even just return to it. What were they thinking?
GZW in it's current state looks exactly like Tarkov was back in 2017. And with it's heavy focus on PvE and very, very little on PvP GZW will die very quickly.
@@FGC292probably not, but if it’s not GZW some other Indy developer will make a game like tarkov but even better. FPS devs would be insane to not circumvent an already established fan base when there’s gonna be an inevitable exodus of EFT players looking for a step up.

Helldivers is one of the most overhyped games I've ever played. The casuals enjoy it because it has a high production value that makes you feel like you're a part of a starship troopers like world. But after the initial appeal, the gameplay loop is sorely lacking and mind-numbingly boring.
@@weetang9899 Except there is one problem with that logic. BSG is still making money regardless because in order to play the SPT mod, you still need a copy of Tarkov to play it.
@@weetang9899 I've been playing SPT for about 6 months, still waiting for that cease and desist. Do you really think they have the money and the manpower to send lawyers after everyone who downloaded a free mod?
The Devs of Tarkov couldn't have chosen a worse time to pull this stunt. Grey Zone warfare should be released later this year, Grey Zone is a large open world, which Tarkov originally promised that it was working towards. I could easily see a lot of Tarkov players jumping ship once Grey Zone is released.
Pretty sure its also a knee jerk reaction to the massive success of helldivers, which is not a clone, but is technically an extraction coop shooter, so nikita shat his pants a little and decides to make a coop mode after all.
I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't actually in anticipation of Grey Zone Warfare, they're thinking players might jump ship once the new hot game drops, so they want to see if they can squeeze one last massive lump of cash out of the playerbase...

One game that did this in an acceptable way (in my opinion), is Killing Floor 2. They put that game out in 2016 and regularly (several times a year) would add content. New maps. New enemies. New skins and whatnot. I remember everybody got pissed at the devs of that game for deciding to add paid content, after they had been giving free content to their community for 5+ years at this point. They supported this game and gave the players free maps, enemies, modes and everything, I think them deciding to make new weapons and monetizing them isn't bad at all cause they needed to support the game they have been supporting for mostly free. They even made it so only 1 player in a match needed the DLC for everybody in the match to utilize it, and it unlocked those weapons for the duration of that game, so if the player with the DLC leaves the game, the remaining players can still use those guns. I thought it was ingenius how they handled it. And still today, they put out free events, and release maps regularly, for free. Those paid guns and skins they made just allowed them to grace us with the Killing Floor 3 announcement we just got this last month. And it amazes me that other companies keep shooting themselves in the groin.
Tripwire had some slippery slopes with the way they introduced lootboxes, but as you say, they delivered so much content for free that's I personalny wouldnt mind dropping 10-15€
128GB at only $200 is really nice. But buying the Unheard of edition for what was essntially a free mod they could have implemented without forcing people to pay a week's worth of salary in today's economy is pretty wrong if you ask me. Like I did say before, people have made an offline PvE mode like what... Last year or 2 years ago for people who just wanted to learn how to play without someone cheater doming them from an impossible angle with a pistol. And the AI itself is really insane in how it can do the right amount of damage to your torso to pretty much end a run without getting into a scuffle with another player. But BSG seems to forget that there are people who were basically asking them to add in an offline mode in a later patch, then they spit in the playerbases faces by forcing a $250 bundle down their throats, JUST FOR AN OFFLINE MODE and some useless goodies (aside from stash space)
the stalker 2 collectors edition was 200 and it is supposed to come with a ton of actual physical stuff with it. Its insane spending 250 and getting nothing you can hold in your hand
My biggest pet peeve with us is that when I became a backer I just came in 2016. I was so hopeful that the game would succeed. When they started releasing the standard edition for purchase, I bought two accounts so that my friends could play with me. Try the game before they bought it themselves I probably got about nine or 10 people to get into the game After they got burnt out I bought two more EOD accounts so that brings my account total to five. So that I could run a full group, and my friends wouldn’t feel pressured into buying the game From doing that I probably got about 20 people to buy EOD alone and probably 30 to just buy standard I’ve been a backer from the start, I brought so many people into this game, and I just feel betrayed I don’t mind them trying to make money But if you release a PvE that holds progression, why not make it accessible to EOD holders?? All the other shit aside, I don’t care, but we wanted coop or offline from the get go and we just keep getting blue balled. On top of the fact that we knew all dlc would be free going forward. I gladly bought all the clothing even the BEAR(I’m usec) just to support, and I feel so brushed off.
They didn't give a rat's ass about their players from the get go. They made perfectly clear that THEY dictate the speed at which they're releasing stuff and what will be added. So I'm not surprised too much by this move. I love the game, but at this point I'd also love to see them fall and choke on their greed and arrogance.

Great convo and as an EOD owner of 4 years with over 4K hours in the game, I am glad you had Lvndmark on to walk you through all this. It hits different in Tarkov because BSG and their COO Nikita Buyanov spent the last 7 years proudly taking the anti-MTX stance aside from the "3 pre-order editions" when it comes to Tarkov. They took a firm stance from day 1 that aside from the 3 additions to help support and fund development, you would never have to pay for anything that would create and unfair in-raid experience or for anything that wasn't also available to earn for free in the game. Today was the first time everything they stood for and preached went down the drain; and when combined with the lies and deception and scummy behavior, it just hits like a tidal wave to the face.
It's like sitting on a beach and watching the water recede... only to be surprised to be hit by tidal wave... Warnings where all over! I'm suprised the game wasn't just a blatant rug-pull in the first place. But this makes it clear, they are just in it for the money and nothing else. Otherwise, they wouldn't leverage the cheater pandemic, to force people that want a good experience to shell out 200 bucks for the pve mode.
content creator voicepacks would go so hard, they could even bring back some creators who haven't played in a while but have drops and stuff like shrowdy
Since I'm Brazilian, and the game is paid in dollars, I have to adjust for currency exchange. So, when we have this scenario, we're talking about a percentage on top of a base salary. In the United States, a base salary reaches about 1500 dollars per month. 1500 dollars per month in Brazil is equivalent to 6 minimum wages. I paid 170 dollars for the game, which is equivalent to 987 BRL, which is 85% of a Brazilian minimum wage. They are charging 250 dollars, which is exactly a Brazilian minimum wage. I rent a place to live and pay less than the game per month.
@@TheMasterblah The mimimum salary in brazil is about 258,5 dolars. I pay 275 dolars for rent a house every month. I gain 1097 dolars a month in Brazil.
250$ is an extreme price for a videogame in the current market. Just to put that into comparison that's nearly a Nintendo Switch, half of a PS5, or 4 copies of most games. My point being: With that much money you would hope there would be something tangible for all that.

$250 is a special price point companies have started using this year (from what I noticed). But some years ago the game changed, it got very popular and almost every OG player saw that the devs didn't gave a f*ck about them anymore, the streamers and youtubers were all they cared about (nothing wrong with them) and they started to tweak the game to please the influencers who can spend 15 hours playing their game. On top of that the cheater situation became more and more horrendous and never came even close to get fixed. Saying that this bullsh*t surprised me would be lying, BSG had already betrayed their fan base but we just pretended it wasn't happening until yesterday.
Just the cases alone at the start of wipe is insane that is like 1.1 mil for scav case, 600k for ammo case, and 5-10mil for weapons case plus already kitted weapons, they are not only greedy but it will impact early wipe gameplay. The difference between this and Star Citizen, as someone who owns EoD: I can buy a ship/access to the game for Star Citizen for $45, and earn every one of those $200-$1000 ships in game. And have about 12 of them, at this point. At no point has Chris Roberts told me "Hey, that $45 ship you bought to get access? You don't get access to the other gameplay/ships. Okay, byeeeeee." Star Citizen has it's problems, but they've never denied paying customers access to specific features of the games based on price-point. You buy it, you have it, you can access every part of it.
I've never understood why people scream about star citizen being a scam, you can freely play the game and get exactly what you pay for on top of a constant stream of updates
I didn't know the game was out. I spend a couple hundred to get the ghost ship or whatever and proceeded to completely forget the whole thing existed when it took half my life to go anywhere. Cool it's playable now though, I should check it out if only to not make my purchase as if I literally just threw the money away.

Tarkov should add OverPowered guns like MiniGun, Grenade Launcher, Flamethrower, RPG and Railgun. Except they can only be used until ammo runs out and are Super Rare finds within chests/loot sources. You Can Only Hold 1 Special Grade/OverPowered weapon per person as well making them less likely to hold like 5 in inventory or something. - Minigun with like 100-200-250, Charges Up then Fires very fast, but little damage 2-5 per bullet yet fires like 5-10 a second so it runs out of ammo quickly, has a very high recoil and is very heavy when you hold it so running drains more stamina when it's out and you're much slower while holding it out. Makes a Loud rrr...rrrr...RRRR... charging it's spin to fire and can be held with aiming. Also, when you fire while standing it increases recoil and crouching reducing the recoil or mounted on a ledge wiping out recoil completely. - Grenade Launcher has 6 grenades either explode on impact, explode 1-2 seconds after hitting the ground or doing the same but also can damage if you hit someone directly, but either won't explode or has a timer or Explodes on Contact Depending on Range hit. - FlameThrower ticks damage over time 3-5 damage per tick and/or lights enemy on fire doing 1+dmg every 0.5 seconds or 2dmg/sec. - RPG/Rocket Launcher does AoE dmg 60-100 based on where it hits and 100 on direct impact. - RailGun will take like 5-10/20+(whatever feels right) seconds to charge and 1 shots anywhere or cripple's a limb if it's not a head shot so bleeding out. 1 round and you can find rounds and has a 15-20% to break with only 5shots total or less if it feels too OverPowered. Also, it makes a very loud BRRRRrrrrrrr or a ticking like br...br...Br...BRRR(when it's done and fully charged.) So it'll 1 shot, but also would reveal your position to anyone very easily.

You actually did a video on that video by UA-camr G0aT.
another thing most people don't notice is SPT allows for playing on linux which is not allowed with live since they use battleye AC

In some places it's like: monthly rent = tarkov
Like it's literally a quarter of minimal pay per month.

Because greed lol why make 10 million when you can make 50 million.
Tripwire had some slippery slopes with the way they introduced lootboxes, but as you say, they delivered so much content for free that's I personalny wouldnt mind dropping 10-15€
A Quest 2 - Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset - 128 GB cost 199 $

My biggest pet peeve with us is that when I became a backer I just came in 2016. I was so hopeful that the game would succeed.
When they started releasing the standard edition for purchase, I bought two accounts so that my friends could play with me. Try the game before they bought it themselves
I probably got about nine or 10 people to get into the game
After they got burnt out I bought two more EOD accounts so that brings my account total to five.
So that I could run a full group, and my friends wouldn’t feel pressured into buying the game
From doing that
I probably got about 20 people to buy EOD alone and probably 30 to just buy standard
I’ve been a backer from the start, I brought so many people into this game, and I just feel betrayed
I don’t mind them trying to make money
But if you release a PvE that holds progression, why not make it accessible to EOD holders??
All the other shit aside, I don’t care, but we wanted coop or offline from the get go and we just keep getting blue balled. On top of the fact that we knew all dlc would be free going forward. I gladly bought all the clothing even the BEAR(I’m usec) just to support, and I feel so brushed off.
Man that sucks
That's bloody horrible man wtf are they at honestly
They didn't give a rat's ass about their players from the get go. They made perfectly clear that THEY dictate the speed at which they're releasing stuff and what will be added.
Let's go GREY ZONE!!!
It's like sitting on a beach and watching the water recede... only to be surprised to be hit by tidal wave...

@@thegame2531 The problem with PVP right now, is the insane amount of cheaters/hackers/scripties w/e you wanna call em. And the inability to actually stop them. SPT is more fun by default, due to the lack of cheaters, it would be okay if you didnt lose all of your gear to the cheaters, but unfortunately by the nature of the game, cheating ramps way the F up on the fun killing when you lose damn near everything. If i lost everything in a firefight, thats one thing, i deserved it by lack of skill/situational awareness.
