      In my prime, I could run 33 minutes for a 10 K and at the finish line, I was absolutely destroyed - hands on knees and about to collapse!! So Durianrider is right - 99% (i will leave 1% out - there maybe a genetic freak out there who is clean).

      @@stephenchu1115 maybe u just didnt train enough/aren’t talented. Im sub 30 in 10k and don’t dope. I know plenty of people faster than me in the low 28s who don’t dope either. Its not unreasonable for some of the most gifted and well-trained people alive to approach 27 low clean. However. Sub 27 can be shady and I think its fair to assume that a good number of people who have ran that fast have doped

    • @durianriders
      @durianriders  Рік тому +1

      No money in triathlon.
      If you really good maybe you get free pair of Nikes. Besides when Lance got busted everyone saw that drugs isn't the way. Just get a coach and train hard instead. Eat less and train 16 hours a day. Train 22 hours a day if you have to.

    • @juanjoseandradefigueroa9313
      @juanjoseandradefigueroa9313 Рік тому

      @@durianriders I can certainly say that in triathlon there is as much money as in running, with the difference there is a much smaller group that turns rich so it is even more crucial to be top10-15 in the world than being top30 (for example) and you have to invest more to race at the top level. Knowing that, does it change your response? I have it more or less clear but you are definitely a more authorized voice for this

    Of course it's possible to run a marathon in 2:08.
    I ran 18 km 5-7 times/week, 5 PE classes/week, plus football ⚽ practices and games.
    Those 18km runs were +/- 60 min. I were about 16 years at that time.. with asthma.
    But I also have natural high hemoglobin and hematocrit values. With old regulations I would be classed as someone who are doping.
    But years ago I caught sepsis and I had to quit with all physical activities. My legs got fucked up and I've had surgery on both. After that i ran into other hurdles, but in a few years I will try to compete professionally in triathlon and I am confident because I have the engine.
    I know it's possible to run fast. However it's a very fine line. If you compare running with cycling, the power profiles are very different. In cycling you have a massive peak power compared to running. Which means you can do more work above threshold. In running you don't have that high peak power and there by means you can do less work above threshold. When I ran I couldn't run much faster than I did, because I was so close to my threshold. It's much easier to blow up while you run than when you ride a bike. To become the best in long distance running is not about who've got the best vo2max, but who can handle the most lactate and that takes time to work on.

      @@durianriders Good question. Never had to run one so that is TBD. But I all try to remember to drop you a post when I am ready. Because I need at least 1,5 year to build up base. I thought November could be good because there is a 10k race which is considered to be one of the fastest in our country. But I probably won't be up to speed by then so I don't target to participate. So next year I will probably race 10k and focus on building distance for HM/M to end of 2024/early 2025.
