In the mid 2000's when I was still racing a little brother named Anthony lived next door to me. Anthony was a big NFL fan. I showed him the James Stewart posters in my garage and he was kind of stunned to see an African American motocross champion. So James gained a new fan that day. James was the fastest motocross racer on the planet in his time. I hope he retires and enjoys his family. He was a pioneer in MX.
tat 22020 the reason why he’s not coming back is cuz he got suspended for smoking weed and stuff like that but he’ll be back next season, if he’s not he’s a let down
+Phat scrub Leddy He got suspended for having Adderall in his system two years ago his suspension was up last year he’s done he said he was coming back this year too round 1 didn’t make it he’s a father now and he’s loaded he’s retired
Best rider ever in my book. If you like him or not (still trying to figure out why some don't like him besides the obvious) he brought excitement to every race he was in. My favorite athlete then and will always be my favorite athlete. Sorry James you had to go thru so much unnecessary things while you raced but unfortunately, that's the world we live in. Tell your dad (1 ADAM 12) said hello, he will know who you are talking about, and take care of your son. Thanks for all the races. I enjoyed flying to the Anaheim 1's and watching you in Houston and Driving to Dallas.
I'm a big Stewart fan, and miss him racing as much as anybody, but anybody that believes he is coming back is delusional. The more time passes with him not racing, the more obvious it is that he is not returning ...... official "retirement announcement" or not.
Yea, he's always been my favorite rider, but he hasn't raced consistently for a loooong time. I'm pretty sure he's done, if he does come back, I wouldn't expect anything good to happen.
I miss him, it honestly would have been cool if he ended his career on a good note, not just walk away in the middle of the season after being crowned one of the best to ride a bike on this planet
This guy went undefeated for a year in both supercross and nationals he dosent need to come back to prove him self he is and always will be the fastest man on dirt in my book
Most exciting racer of all time! Pushed the impossible to become possible and did it without regard to his own self. The race was never as enjoyable when JS7 was not in it! James had nerves of steel. When he hit laroccos leap on the 125 and the jaw plate of his helmet was touching the front fender I was in AWE! Thanks for the moments James!
I love you bubba I'm from Atlanta to one black man to another I use to read about you in 98 the motorcross magazines I was 15 then I'm 33 now thank you for everything
I have been following the sport for 50 years and I have never seen anyone like him. He was excellent for sure. I felt bad when he crashed and got hurt. If he only had more consistency and rode a little safer he would have out shined Ricky. Sad to see him go.
Age is of importance as it goes for any major league sport. Injuries built up over the years also don't help, still one of the most talented if not most, a true legend. My favorite rider since I first watched him live.
No he’s not the fastest. Very good rider (on the track) off the track and different terrains never know. King pastrana is still my number one and always will be. But Stewart is quick
can we say that it is the most beautiful video on youtube, yes we can say that it is the most beautiful video on youtube, perfect music, perfect images THANK YOU
It's a young man's sport. James had his day and should be proud of it and move on. The best years of the sport was with him, Reed and Carmichael. Those epic battles!
There's nothing else for Stewart to prove he had a good career the best rider I've ever seen point blank period fastest man on earth I'll never forget Stewart he will always be a legend FOREVER
Definitely a great rider. The biggest thing that held him back was a win or crash trying philosophy. I watched a Charmichael interview, and the advice he gave upcoming riders was to ride within your limits. He said sometimes that means taking a third. You can come back from a bad week, consistency is what wins championships. You can be the fastest guy on the track, but if you hurt yourself and can't finish the season, you lose. Really talented guy though, single handedly ended Charmichael's reign.
There comes a time when your body cant take it anymore he is the best he rode most of his life and definitely made a change and a brighter light to the sport he is the legend of motorcross period
If James is done, he owes this sport nothing. He was an awesome talent and racer. No one ever ran a 2 stroke 125 like JS259 (Johnny O in 86? MXDN next best). We were at Unadilla JS's last year on the KX 125 and he was turning faster lap times than RC was on his Honda 450. Complete domination. Motocross has not been the same since RC, JS, K Dub's generation. JS was a part of the last generation of US riders to rule the world. James reminds me of how Danny Chandler rode, Awesome speed when on point, huge balls with absolutely no fear. You can criticize JS for crashing too much but you cannot say he wasn't the most entertaining man on the track. His battles w RC were epic and they made each other faster to the point of domination. I hope more riders come along like him soon and make the sport fun to watch again. God Bless you James......
He's a buffoon. Watching him fail at nearly every race of the last couple years of his career was hilarious. He'd quit or wreck.....or wreck, then quit. He wasn't tough enough to be a racer and only tarnished the small legacy he had. He should have stuck to a b!tch sport like basketball. Lmao.
He is fast but wrecked alot... The fastest skier fell past everyone down the mountain.... I am feeling my crashes now from 1980s mx... He can now coach new young dudes how to fix and race bikes open a school to pull kids out of gangs etc. Good roll model ...Shalom
i saw james the first time in an smp video he was 12.. and i was about 12. who knew that kid would turn out to be one of the best riders ever.. he will never be slow.. but i will say this. super cross is over as soon as it goes electric.. i wont watch or race anymore.. love the smell of klotz in the morning with my coffee ..

James Stewart is easily one of the most competitive racers ever. No one gives him the respect he deserves. He comes back every time just for someone to mess it up for him. Honestly cant blame him for not racing rn.
James I think his time is over but he was a hero to me and I’m going to look up to him for the rest of my life along with Bilko Williams and his brother Malcom Stewart
It seems Ike James does not care about his fans or something we don’t know. we all were pulling for him to come back and then nothing just a total cold shoulder !!! Loved watching him ride !!! and go Malcolm !!!
One of the greats went down in history and his name is James Stewart and we all know the super cross fam misses one of the greats the myth the legend James Stewart 😔😔😔
Time waits for no man. Only man that could have a chance of beating rc. That alone puts you in the same room as the greats. Scary fast and talented. No1 ever said going fast would feel good. He was a pro at age 7. All the eyes and attention for years plus the work and travel that goes into it, just lost focus and was burnt out. I feel like he thinks there is still something to prove. Injuries plagued him. Left a lot of money and wind on the table.
How many guys come into a sport and totally change the way it was done ? That's what this guy did amazing corner speeds lines like no other a true champion !! Not to mention the racial aspect of his career Job well done regardless of a comeback or not , the comeback is just the competitor in him you never feel your out of the game ! This guy is like Michael jordan when he came on the NBA scene .James just flat took over the Game and made everyone in the sport faster and better because of it .. Nice video makes you reflect on the sport a bit !

MOTO 809 well he worked hard to be able to get the things he has now so I feel like it's just normal for him to want to show it off. If you were really broke when you were young then became rich because off all your hard work wouldn't you want to show off the stuff you worked for
I'm not a big James Stewart fan. But I am a fan of what he's accomplished and what he's done for the sport. It sucks he didn't come back this year because he would most likely be leading in points and probably be on his way to a third championship due to the line up being soooo thin with only Anderson competing for the title and Tomac just hanging back. It also sucks that Reed doesn't have the Speed he had a few years ago. Maybe next year.
He's officially retired since April 2019, but he came back around AMA supercross world as commentator. You can see him on Supercross official channel, here on youtube. He basically does insight analysis for each round. I remember some time ago he released an interview where he admitted, among lines, he missed a bit riding, but, as far as I can understand, right now he's fully committed to his family man and dad role. To not mention he went trough a long stint of some years where not only he didn't ride, but he basically refused everything correlated to SX/MX. I think chances to see him again on a bike, even just for something promotional or demonstrative, are poor.
Even if he is done, I will remember him as my insperation to swing my leg over a bike, and the first favorite rider since I watched my first supercross.
James needs to just cheer for his brother Malcolm and be thankful that he was able to make it to the 450 class. And he also needs to make up his mind on if he is quitting. I myself think by his actions these past 2 years proves he doesn t have what it takes anymore

You are still a legend in my book James Stewart.Good luck in whatever you decide to do In life.
His time has come and gone. He does not need to come back. He is the fastest man on earth and that is all that needs to be said.
Sackmatters was.
Sackmatters Fastest? Crashiest, most definitely. And definitely not the GOAT.
Brian Mull He was no doubt fast as hell, and one of if not the fastest rider. which is one reason why he crashed so much.
No he’s not the fastest. Very good rider (on the track) off the track and different terrains never know. King pastrana is still my number one and always will be. But Stewart is quick

I for real Miss James Stewart he will always be my favorite Rider and I will always look up to him
I realy miss him at the tracks, he had that beautiful style with the bike... very fast but not consistent, but still have good memories...
