Absolutely lovely to see you both, and I do love your rants. I totally agree with what you have said and we are definitely coming back out in August and christmas we always feel so welcome and safe. To anyone worried honestly listen to this post you will be massively missing out if you do not visit and cancel your vacation due to tk the media. People still go to London everyday and look at that situation in the media regarding rise in crimes. thanks again Kirsty 😊
The media will make a big deal of this, its saying the same with a lot of destinations. Powers that be don't want us travelling whether by plane, car or anything. Want us confined to our homes. Good to see you out and about with Jenson.
We’ve been coming to Fuerteventura for nearly 25 years now JP, recently as January this year, and although we’ve seen a lot of changes nothing will stop us returning. It’s a boss place to visit and stay 👍🏻
Couldn’t agree more with your comments JP. Stopped buying newspapers years ago and as we are in full flow now for the general election here, the politicians are in beast mode. Depressing. You are well out of it and after 12 years of visiting the island, I’ve never felt unsafe. Roll on November for our next visit.
JP in Fuerteventura. Many videos which over the years I appreciated. 100% agree with your comments. I hope you enjoy your life. A solid thank you for your muses.
Given a choice between accuracy and sensationalism, UK rags will always go for the latter. I saw another video, from another ex-pat in the Canaries, in which he joined a crowd of protestors in Arrecife, Lanzarote. None of the protestors were protesting about tourism. They know it is the lifeblood of their economy. They were protesting, quite rightly it would seem, about Canarian government policies that do not address their legitimate housing concerns. Good to see you again, JP!
Totally right JP, the press come up with these stories and put it online as clickbait to get the gullible to click and read the rubbish, this pleases the advertisers who keep them going, sad but thats how it is now, lies get clicks! Fully understand peoples anger but social housing built to a good standard that cant be bought is the answer,i have already heard that some hotels are struggling for staff as people are having to move away as there is nowhere to rent. Another great film JP. I share your love of Fuerteventura, there in March and October last year, and will be again this September. I agree with you about journalists, my view is that they are lower than a snakes belly. My rant about politicians would take too long and be too unprintable. All the best , C.
Thanks! I also live on the island and appreciate your thoughts and videos very much. I agree that the living situation overall has been problematic for years, and I hope that international reporting on this issue will take the larger development into account.
Visit here every December, beautiful island, never had any trouble. Once I saw a drunk local shouting, in 6 visits, that's an every day occurance in the uk.
Me and my wife visited Feureventura for my wife's Birthday in February this year , i suffer badly from SAD , so i put away the light box and enjoyed some real sunshine, the media won't stop us coming, anyway the caneries need the tourist's for their livihood.
Just got back last Thursday had a great time as always sorry not to bump into you! Sad to to see the restaurants in Corralejo were really quiet and several closed! the plane was full but again all inclusive and don't spend money in the town unlike us! Hey ho! Thanks for the video 👍😎 Ann & Keith catch you next time! 🌴🌴
Couldn,t agree more with your comments, ourselves we haven,t had a newspaper in the house for 15 years and don,t intend to start. We have been coming to El Cotillo for some 16 years and have no intention of stopping. Next visit June 5th for ten days, can,t wait😍
The only thing I would disagree with is that you say politicians run the government. Those days are gone. Governments sing to the tune of major corporations, billionaires and corrupt government agencies.
Just back yesterday, stopped reading all this crap in the papers ages ago, stay in Corralejo 5/6 months of the year and couldn't meet friendlier people 😊
Hi JP, it's the same in Birmingham they have just gone bust. No council housing being built. They can afford to put boat people in top hotels, but not our own people. There is so much land in Caleta where I go. Why don't they build property there for the local people. My answer is greed on the political system there no money for them. What do you think. Jim Birmingham.
When this story first broke my inkling was Spain & canaries very popular & other tourist countries were missing out on the tourist euro ..hence the scare stories
I have travelled frequently to the canaries and Spain for over 45 years without much issue. Recently I visited Fuerteventura for the 8th time. We were targeted in our hire car 3 times with road rage, the 1st time the local was pulling out at us on a junction with our right of way. A polite pap on the horn by me to prevent a collision caused him to become territorial and ranting in so many words that we were not welcome, another road rage incident where the driver pulled into us from a slip road, nearly knocked us off the road at 70kph, no fault of ours, I have been driving in Spain since 1983 without issue other than this, something has changed recently.
The standard of driving in Fuerteventura is generally diabolical. Just look at all the bashed cars. Roundabouts seem to cause confusion and indicators are rarely used.
@@paulcawley7386 I agree, but never before did we see road rage , this is time number 8 driving on that island, never did we see anything like that, also the way we were spoken to by the car hire company too, things have changed recently.
Jensen is looking well and happy :) Have you noticed that tourist warmings seem to come more around the British summer holidays? British govt just want's to push staycations and doesn't want anyone spending money elsewhere. I wonder how many politicians do staycations? They are all a waste. If I had a chance, I would come to Spain like yesterday! Enjoy the sunshine!
I go to mainland Spain a lot. I hear all of this nonsense. Cannot understand why visitors to Spain believe the rubbish that the British Media puts out under the guise of being helpful.
Same in 🇬🇧 you cretin. Freehold?? Don't pay council tax for 6 months, see who will own your "paid, freehold " house 😉 . It won't be you my dear "homeowner"!
There are enough empty carcass buildings/hotels on fuerteventura that government could do up and rent cheaply to locals. They are an eyesore. Would make place look better and solve local housing crisis reducing any current ill feeling towards tourists. Why not tax the digital nomads more to help fund the refurbs!
@annhunt8534 Hello Ann Lovely of you to wish us a good holiday 🥰. That's unusual for fuerteventura , weather wise . Just look forward to the island 🏝 once again 😊. Hope you both had a lovely holiday 😀
@@JPinFuerteventurahey JP. Hope you are ok. Would recommend Moro jable or corralejo? Solo traveler. Not a party person or clubbing. But not too dead if you get me
@@markjackson5333 Hi Mark. I quite like the old part of Morro Jable but not the new very touristy bit with all the hotels. Corralejo has its quieter bits which are ok. Have you considered El Cotillo? I suspect the dog walk area you are talking about is the dry riverbed area between El Cotillo and Lajares.
