    Former FFF employee here. It's hard to see this happen to FFF after years of hard work to improve the member experience and make FFF the best it can be. I assure you that the values of the founders are not the same as the values of the majority of the employees, past and present, nor were we even aware of their personal beliefs until recently.
    I understand why you terminated and want you to know that we have loved partnering with you over the years. Your content has been consistently authentic and you were our favorite (and most honest) review season after season.

      @@Niccis_Narrative respectfully, it sounds like. you've never seen one of my FFF reviews. They were always 100% honest, even to the point of sometimes saying I didn't think my box was worth it, if that was the truth. It sounds like you're saying that you can't see how I wouldn't LIE to my audience for a sponsorship and that is extremely inaccurate to what I've built my channel to be for the last 11 years. No, I couldn't ever speak to the customer ordering experience, but I never said that I could. What I spoke to was each and every choice and what I thought of the offerings to give my subscribers the best shot possible at building the best box for them.

      fab fit fun was the worst company I ever experienced...............product quality was great but customer service and their shady way of billing is criminal. they are still trying to charge my credit card. I keep the balance below 60 so they cant charge it. 7 declines in one day. after a year of me cancelling my account. I really hate them. they raised their prices too I guess because the last several attempts were 76.00 dollars. I hope they go out of business.

    I will never get how people think civil rights issues and bigotry are "opinions." You can have political opinions, but if your "opinion" is that a group should not exist (ex. antisemitism, racism in any form, transphobia, bigotry against the LGBTQIA community), it's not an opinion, and it's dangerous. It leads to situations and legislation that harm people.

    I quit FFF quite awhile back. What I liked is their add on market where you could get things for a great deal. But I found it promoted excess buying and I ended up with just too much to use. So I quit to use what I bought and stop getting hooked by deals. All of these companies are after our money, but what are they actually giving us? Clutter and things we don’t actually need.

    • @khills
      @khills 9 місяців тому +14

      Yep. We support a cat box, which comes with some cat toys and things for the house, but that’s mostly because we can package up the things we don’t want and give them to our local shelter to resell or put into auction bags. If that no longer becomes an option, we’re going to switch to a cat-treat-only box. And it’s for exactly what you note: these boxes all promote excess consumption. I’d rather make the option to buy the cute blanket they’re trying to hook me with on its own, and not have to figure out what to do with the rest of the stuff… 🤷🏼‍♀️

    I have to thank you Jen! I know I can always trust your points of view. I started FabFitFun in 2019 after watching your Spring 2019 unboxing. Your honest reviews of the product not only got me hooked on FFF but also to your UA-cam channel. I’ve been an Esthetician for over two decades and was so impressed by your knowledge of ingredients. This past year I started doing FFF unboxings on my UA-cam channel, just to bring my crafting and sewing community something a little different and fun. The boxes haven’t been as good as they used to be and quite frankly the winter box just wasn’t fun at all. Now with your discoveries about the founders and what they have shared on their personal social media pages, I know it’s time for me not to renew my annual box subscription for 2024. I don’t do a sponsorship with them and pay for my boxes. Lukily Spring was my renewal cycle, so I can stop that from renewing. People don’t see antisemitism as often because so many tropes have been normalized. It’s only when people point it out and explain the history of it, and how it most often led to deaths over the past decades or centuries, that people kind of see it. Even then, a lot of the knee-jerk reaction is just to dismiss it with another common trope meant to silence people: “those people are always complaining.”

      @glitterberserker1029 9 місяців тому +9

      I don't disagree but maybe I wasn't clear originally. Antisemitic dog whistles are fairly common but saying "Jews hate white people" isn't a dog whistle, it's an air horn. The ability for people to be openly and blatantly antisemitic in public is becoming more "acceptable" than it was and that shift is what I find alarming. Definitely didn't mean to imply antisemitism didn't exist or wasn't harming people before.

    • @RikkiSpanish
      @RikkiSpanish 9 місяців тому +6

      It's very unsettling how normalized antisemitism is in both America and the Western world at this time. The even more unsettling thing is that there are so many universities here in the U.S. that seem to be massive breeding grounds for this hate. Colleges and universities used to be where people would go to develop and hone their critical thinking skills. Institutions of higher learning used to be where one truly transitions from a child to an adult because that is where one learned to think for themselves through both common sense and reasoning. Now, it feels as if our universities are cesspools of various forms of extremism, turning our youth into mindless machines with a strong propensity towards violence(nobody does peaceful protests anymore). It's both frightening and frustrating. This world is going to Hell in a handbasket because humans are so full of hate, anger, and stupidity.

      @@RikkiSpanish That is because of the decades long effort to defund education. When that happens, you have ill-educated people then going on to become the professors. Not to mention people keep forgetting about the psychological hack of Cambridge Analytica. Everything happening right now is the culmination of white supremacy, toxic masculinity, unregulated greed and good old American narcissism, taught en masse by media and entertainment. None of this is new. None of this dystopia just sprung up out of nowhere - and in fact, some corners of said entertainment tried to warn us far in advance. Yeah setting aside fff's political opinions -- they've had serious privacy issues. I signed up for one season and have had serious complications with my account privacy. Several orders being fulfilled and sent to addresses that aren't mine -- and being attempted to be charged to my card (they were declined by my CC company of course). But fff keeps fulfilling them. They've been to all sorts of addresses in the US. It's been insane and I've had zero ability to get it resolved over several years. I'd never use them. Your comment raises an interesting problem for voters. In Congress the other day, Elise Stefanek questioned the heads of four of the most prestigious colleges in the country because they didn’t condemn outright or “punish” the pro-Palestinian protests of students that also called for the elimination of Israel and Jews.
    In this case, although the First Amendment Right applies only to the government not curtailing free speech, the Congresswoman and the nuanced answers of the college heads did not agree. This, as Jen points out, , creates confusion, chaos, antipathy. At least one college President has resigned. But the question remains: how can you enforce a policy touching on free speech BEFORE THAT POLICY IS ACTUALLY CREATED? (Apropos of that: did FFF have a policy about language in their ads?). I don’t think a single president, before that committee, had the power to “punish” such speech without a college wide policy. Certainly they didn’t in the sixties when anti-war speech and activity was a lot more disruptive. So expecting that they should now is absurd. Can anyone anticipate being hit by the bus? Just about the same probability.
    Jen is right about how offensive the speech is whether it calls for death for Asians, Blacks or Jews - same vile hatred, not to say uneducated and creating of an antagonistic atmosphere in a democratic society where this kind of hate-filled speech is unwarranted. Why unwarranted? Because this country was founded on intellectual ideas - NOT on the basis of what group or religion you came from. In fact, even if all the founders were Christian they weren’t all from the same church! Even their Christian beliefs varied. So it takes a lot of nerve, stupidity and “sleepwalking” (unwoke, if you will) to wrap your bias in the American flag and think that you know the Word of God or have absolute Truth! That applies to the protesters, but it also applies to the Congresswoman. She wants to label protestors “woke” as if that were a dirty word but she doesn’t have it right either because a democracy calls for INTELLIGENCE and TOLERANCE, especially from its leaders. THE PROTESTORS THEMSELVES WERE OBNOXIOUS, INTENTIONALLY SO. Congresswoman Stefanek was as well.
    The Congresswoman jumped at the chance to make otherwise educated people look stupid and unprepared. They obliged by being “professorial.” In her own way, she was as much a chaos creator as all those student groups. She comes from the right and they from the left - both are wrong. The Truth is that in a democracy no group can afford to call for the elimination of another when they are protesting. Neither the protestors nor Ms. Stefanek are morally pure, and being older, she should know better, but being MAGA she’s lost her sense of balance.

    The FFF CEOs are very out of touch with target market and just with the everyday person. Most of us see Elon Musk as a bigot and a giant rich toddler who steps on the backs of very talented people but takes all the credit. I've noticed a lot of rich men or very wealthy men idolize Elon Musk, my own boss and owner of the company I work for completely idolizes that bigot. Most of the time, he doesn't mention EM but when he does, the thoughts of just walking out flood my mind. But bills need to be paid and nothing else is wrong there but if a good opportunity comes up, I'm definitely taking it. I cannot stand ppl who support EM and are his fangirls and the thought of supporting & working for someone who thinks like EM is a no no.
