+Prakaidao Thanks.... I like staying at LA Live. There's a few hotel there.. but here's a review of the JW Marriott: ua-cam.com/video/5VLH7M0204Y/v-deo.html
The Bradbury Building and Union Station both have great architecture; but would never put them on the list of musts. Clifton's Cafeteria, the Last Bookstore, the Artwalk and Moca are far more interesting.
Depends how long you stay at the Broad... I shot this whole video (minus the Broad) in about 7 hours. So that's how long it took me to visit all these spots. For transportation it was walking, uber, and the subway.
+jakie chang It's hard for me to add the Broad.. it was my #1 in the video already :). I agree on LACMA.. I just didn't include it here because it technically isn't "Downtown"
Great video! Thanks! Question: would I be able to walk to and from to some if these places? Or do you recommend driving? I'm renting a car but I thought about parking at place for q day and just walk to places
There's a walking tour put on by the LA conservancy that will take you through the theaters. It's Saturdays at 10am. Otherwise they aren't really open to the public. www.laconservancy.org/events/broadway-historic-theatre-and-commercial-district-walking-tour

Hi Chris , Great videos they are really helping us plan our trip to USA . Just wondering what the best central area of LA to get around and stay with a young family is ? Also hotels you think are great vs hotels to stay away from . Thanks
+Luke Ryan That's a really tough question to answer without knowing more about what you want to see.... And your mode of transportation. My super general guidance would be to stay North of the I-10 freeway or west of the 405 freeway. So basically that's around downtown LA, along the sunset strip, or around the beaches on the coast.
Yellow Productions thanks for answering me , We were looking at culver city but not sure where that sits with getting to public transportation.( more research to be done ) according to über app everything is 30 mins away so guessing that's normal for tourist attractions? . We also intend to take the kids down the coast to San Diego on the surf rider train . We want to see as much of LA as we can in the 3.5 weeks of being there Thanks again Luke
Culver mainly is connected via Expo Line to downtown & Santa Monica. On the same line, you can take the kids to the CA Science Center and see the space shuttle Endeavour before hitting downtown. (Heck the whole museum can be a day in itself depending on their ages). You can take the train from Culver to Union Station from where you can take Amtrak down to San Diego. There they may like the aircraft carrier on display.
paintkiller93 thanks so much for the info , kids will be 8 and 5 so wanting to do lots and looking forward to getting as much as we can in in the 3.5 weeks before we head across to Hawaii on the way home .
Please Tip in restaurants because restaurants dont pay a fair wage the way they do in Europe , in fact i recommend giving half the tip to the busser (the hispanic guy doing all the work) while your waiter fakes a smile n' writes the order & takes the majority of the tip and gives the busser a fraction.

Thank you for showing all the good places, but I like to inform you about Little Tokyo. Please do not think this area is miniature Tokyo. Most of the store, business owned by non-Japanese now. This town was very clean and pleasant 30 years ago. Now no more "Little Tokyo". should be called Asian town.

awesome
+Margaret Kaitau Thanks Margraret!
Awesome videos! Hey how much time (hours) would it take to do all of these on a Sunday?
Depends how long you stay at the Broad... I shot this whole video (minus the Broad) in about 7 hours. So that's how long it took me to visit all these spots. For transportation it was walking, uber, and the subway.
you guys can make a interview with architects and make a list of hotels
"wurstkusch" :D hahaha ;-)
ADD: LACMA and The BROAD . 2 of the hottest places downtown!
+jakie chang It's hard for me to add the Broad.. it was my #1 in the video already :). I agree on LACMA.. I just didn't include it here because it technically isn't "Downtown"
You missed the Cathedral, just a block away from the Walt Disney Concert hall.
Apparently I did! Thanks for the tip!
Great video! Thanks! Question: would I be able to walk to and from to some if these places? Or do you recommend driving? I'm renting a car but I thought about parking at place for q day and just walk to places
+Betttinha_Garoa You can visit all these attractions by walking and also using the subway. Yes.. park once... then walk around :)
Yellow Productions Thank you!
Hi. Is it possible to go inside any of the old theaters on Broadway? Just to take a quick peak?

You should make some maps, I'd be very interested, with show of parking or public transportation.

What time should I get in line at the Broad?
+Meghan P You should try and get a reservation ahead of time... no line required then. Tickets are free on their website.
The broad got more stuff inside than balloons lol.
Is it safe to go to downtown on a Sunday?
As safe as any other day.. I'd just plan to leave before dark 😀
Im going to LA for a month. Do you think I should buy a bicycle, motorbike or just get ubers everywhere? Are bicycles and motorbikes safe when parked in LA? Does it cost to park a motorbike or can you just park anywhere?
I guess it depends what part of LA you will be in. The beach communities like Santa Monica and Venice are quite bike friendly. But many parts aren't.
I think you’d be better off using Uber or Lyft. The Metro trains are good but, they don’t go everywhere. Parking in most parts is nonexistent or expensive. It does depend on where you want to go. Also we’ve been having a lot of rain and, it only recently warmed up a bit. So, bring a coat and some warmer clothes. No joke, we got snow in places.

if your going to downtown LA make sure your inoculations are up to date and be careful of hepatitis and typhus, don't wear your nice clothes.
I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that, it was neat?
