      @@stickyfishyfishing indeed, those reels are awesome eh, long flicky rods, weighted floats bouncing around in the wash. Best type of fishin around, there is a casting technique unique to those reels where you loop the line through your right hand fingers, bit like this 👌 and hold your hand parallel to the center of the reel and cast. Works well. 👍

    Great video,I've tried rock fishing and keep getting snagged.
    How to keep the line out in the zone, whilst not letting the waves bring it to towards the rocks?

    Hey Sticky, what did you think of the fisherman on the Gold Coast method of tying the FG knot ??

    • @stickyfishyfishing
      @stickyfishyfishing  2 роки тому

      Yeah seems alot easier like that will give it a go i use the line it the teeth method to do mine but lots of ways to tie that knot it seems cheers 👍

    Really like the video. I'm from Texas. Always interested in the fishing in Australia? What's up with that reel is there a specific reason to have that type of real? I've never seen anything like that in America

    • @F15H0

      Its called a centrepin reel, really good for float fishing, its basically a spool running freely on a shaft with bearings.
      It allows the current and swells to take line off the reel naturally so theres no resistance on your float.
      You control the line with fingers (on rod hand) and once you hook a fish those same fingers become your drag sytem, you can use the palm of your hand (reeling hand) to stop the fish running when needed if its a big one that you cant control with fingers (of rod hand)
      Best reel for this type of fishing and also running a float down a flowing river.
      Great fun controlling the float and fish with your hands instead of a drag system and being 1:1 retreive is great too!
      Its an oooooold style adapted from the trout fishers in UK
      Lookup trotting or centrpin fishing.
      Its big in Canada on the rivers too.
