What kind of seaweed were you using?
It's just a green weed that grows close to the waters edge on the ocean rock

Not sure about Newcastle harbour but not bitting at Nelson Bay break wall yet around June July should be on you mite get one or two at the moment mate
I use a 12ft Snyderglass vintage rod I found for $30

Think he had a centre pin reel bud , they are expensive just to let you know , alveys are ok but even egg beater reels work great on black fish mate , I myself prefer egg beater reels but each to their own. 👍

Youll see everytime he casts he hits the switch at the rear for free spool
@@fishmut yeh i know.i busted 3 reels one year chasn pigs.the old shimano baitrunners.
Switched to alvey since then for pigs and groper
