Idk, maybe it has to do with how revolutionary they were back then compared to now. Metal was still rising and metallica put metal in the spotlight. But yeah, I'm not gna lie, I like the first 4 way better--but I still don't think they suck now.

Best metal band of all time. I was a teen in the late 80s when I discovered them. As someone that's aged with them I get their later music and like them even more now. Most metal fans are young, males who can't comprehend thirty years and the changes and growth that comes with it.

Metallica will never die. St. Anger was their "weakest" album, and it still had 2 damn good Metallica classics (St. Anger and Frantic). I LOVED Load and Reload, and Garage Inc. was AWESOME. Some of the best songs the band has are in Load. Bleeding Me is amazing, I loved the blues/metal rock of Load/Reload and Garage Inc (Astronomy cover is a masterpiece). Low Mans Lyric, Mama Said, Ronnie, House That Jack Built. People forget Metallica has some pretty fuckin cool NEW/NEWER shit too. Of course Kill Em All, Lightning, Puppets (my personal favorite), Justice, and Black album all rocked, but the NEW SHIT ROCKS TOO. Living proof. Metallica has PLENTY of gas left in the tank, but they ARE people too and DO have families. I'd rather let them do their thing, on THEIR TERMS like always, instead of rushing an album. God bless.

Yep. I liked St Anger (albeit it wasn't as "quality" as other albums), and both Load and Reload had great songs. Bleeding Me, Thorn With and (gasp) Prince Charming are some of my favorite Metallica songs.

This is the best song Metallica has made since the Black Album if you ask me. And it has a very disturbing yet intriguing meaning. The single cover shows the picture of an ultrasound. This song is about abortion. The lyrics are words from the unborn baby. This is a dark idea from Hetfield and I love it. Many think it`s just about suicide, but do your research.

The thing I love about Metallica is their lyrics are very poetic. Very skillful poetry as well. And good lyrics is something unseen in modern day pop and rap garbage that bleeds the ears. Let alone good music.

I agree. Although I'm 18 I'm a metal fan through and through but Metallica will always have a special place in my heart, I like newer metal, like any young metal fan, but i love my Metallica, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, and Queensryche. Metallica forever.
