Black guy here. Never paid attention to these guys until i played Guitar Hero Metallica. WOW been hooked since. Just got my tix for Levi’s Stadium for June 2025. Missed them when they did Concert to open Chase Center in San Francisco. But not this time Baby!!!

Well he blew his voice out during the end of the Black Album Tour , 3 years on tour will do it. So he took vocal lessons after that tour and to this day warms up with the same warm up exercise tape and that has saved his voice from destruction. ❤
I think he relearned to things he did before 1993 behind the curtain progressivly. The BA tour damaged his voice and it took a long time to recover. Even though in 1996 and 1999 he did use more his older style. What is cool is that James on the last couple of years found again distortion on high notes .
My first show was 1989 in Philly the Justice Tour. At my age it is incredible to see guys like James Hetfield, Bruce Dickinson and others reach their vocal prime at 60 years old. Incredible
A testament to how much Metallica loves their fans. 80 thousand strong but they set it up so they can get as many fans as possible close and intimate to the stage. And I mean close like a bar gig where someone could grab a Mic stand or unplug a monitor. Fist bumps for every one. And they are just getting better with age playing better pushing 60 than when they where in their 20s. Good stuff!!!

The first time I heard One in a live show here in Brazil in 1993 it was amazing, overwhelming. All the lights in the stadium went out and a very loud helicopter sound started and lasted for a while, it seemed like it was right above our heads, hovering over our heads. Then the music started. It was amazing. Unforgettable. Metallica is simply the best!

Oh it was a stunning concert, the two day format worked really well. Imagine, opening night one with Orion, the night 2 with Ktulu. Just amazing, way exceeded my wildest expectations!
This has to have been the most packed show out of the whole tour. Even the floor was full. Many other European venues the floor looks half full. I saw them both nights in Madrid and it was amazing

Always an amazing job! But Rob deserves a bass with more volume. Always deserved it. And I think Metallica got a lot better at that once they understood that Rob is different! It really made him part of the band by giving him the spotlight. But we want more! And congratulations to the technical team that manages to get the best possible sound from this incredible bass, as far as possible and that is allowed in the band.
