- Hallo Entdecker! In this video, we take a ride down the Chattahoochee River in Helen, Georgia. It was a relaxing and exhausting trip to say the least. For the most part, you are floating carefree down the river. However, huge rocks are scattered throughout the water and you may get stuck on them! Fear not, you are offered the chance to purchase a push stick which can help you navigate around and "unstick" yourself. It was quite fun floating through the small town. If you are using Cool River Tubing, head to the Chattahoochee Outpost. It has parking, lockers, restrooms, food, tickets, straps for the tubes, push sticks and is adjacent to a small park. You are shuttled from here to the entry point of both the one hour and two hour spots before you begin. Then you are set loose on the river! Come along as we navigate through the rapids!

I was scared to go tubing but when I saw this video it made me less scared and more excited 🥰
This one has some rocks that can be kind of a pain. My youngest did it, though, with no problem. Get the stick in case you get stuck. They are 5 dollars per stick. You can do the shorter route if you want to try it out. Thanks for watching! 🙂

We are thinking of going on this adventure when we visit. Did they tell you anything about alligators in the river? I am a bit worried about gators!
There have been Gators in the Chattahoochee River, but I don't think they go that far up into the mountains. The water is fast moving and cold. With all water, always be aware of your surroundings. Gators don't like a lot of people or cold, so they are very rare in those areas. I did see something about a rare sighting in Altanta, which is 88 miles away. Gator attacks in GA are very rare, and I saw there has not been an attack in that area ever. Here is an article about gators and GA. Have fun! Awesome! So much fun! Definitely get one of those sticks they sell to help push off rocks if you get stuck. It doesn't happen a lot, but it came in handy at certain times. Have fun and stay safe!

I and a kayaker, but I have seen 20-30 tubers tied together and floating down the French Broad River in NC. Yes, they are party tubers...😁
It was a lot of fun! I think this river has more rocks which makes it a little harder to navigate. That is why they recommend the stick. We have done the Toccoa River which is a lot easier. We love kayaking and actually have an inflatable 2 seat kayak that we take out all the time here in Florida. Thanks for watching!

You should always be careful around water if you are not a strong swimmer. I'm glad they are okay.
