This car saved my life 2 days ago. I hit a wall head on at around 80km/h and all i had were some burns from the airbag and a twisted foot!
    Thank You @MercedesBenz❤️

Great video, thanks! W210 is one of the best MBs ever made.Sadly the rust issue ruined it´s reputation.People are starting to realize now,how good it is,and there are still cars available with no rust issue.Actually, always have been.

we carry ours, a slow E220D (95HP NA Diesel) but only 110.000km and only slight rust on the rear fender inner arches.
Nothing else really severe it just works and runs its an awesome car and if you keep the rust spots small and take care of it it will live almost for ever. :)

I lost my beloved 1996 W210 E320 to rust. The car was still like new from inside but I couldn't drive to customer meetings with a car full of surface rust...

I love mine. It's had a lucky life and been in Georgia and garaged the whole time, so no rust at all.

What a Car it was.. But they cut corners on anti corrosion and paint thickness. And underneath sealing the front top shock turrets Rotted out..
      Cost MB serious reputation issues.

I owned a 1998 E320 for 225,000 miles, no rust, nothing but routine maintenance. Still own my wife’s 2000 E430 with 130,000 miles, and my fabulous 2001 E430 Sport with 101,000 miles. No rust on any of them, and nothing but routine maintenance. I live in California, so perhaps that’s why I have no rust issues. The 430’s V8 is extremely smooth and powerful, these cars were innovative at the time with the lowest drag coefficient of any production car. I also have owned a 1984 300D from new, as well as 3 W124’s, and still have my 1990 300CE. The W 210’s still feel modern today, the last of the great Mercedes.

I live in a country without snow and I've never seen a rusty 210. This car is still quite a popular here so maybe the rust issue is snow and salt related.

I have a Mercedes W210 V6, a gem from the year 2000. With 500,000 kilometers under its belt, it runs like a dream, without a hint of trouble. I believe it is the last masterpiece from the Stuttgart house; now, alas, they are assembled in China.

I wouldnt call the 4 matic system in the w210 more advanced than the w124.. It was much simpler and cheaper. But far from as effective. It just used the brakes. Nothing more.
The w124 lacked the braking capability but had 4 automatic mechanical stages. 2WD, 4WD 65/35, 4WD center diff lock, 4WD center + rear diff lock.

Honestly, I have been driving one in germany since I was 17 and I adore it even though few people feel the same but the rust really makes me sad but I’ll do my best to keep it as long as possible

lol the next suggested video is about someone having bought the "worst" gen E class the w210 that is a myth :P To me it kinda have a timeless design it doesn't look old or modern but just as it should

Definitely not a myth regarding corrosion. The cars rotted for fun in Ireland. Apparently mercedes thought they had a revolutionary new primer and no longer required the zinc stage of the process.

i have had many merc's and i have now e50, e300d, 220d and 320cdi all w210 and have to say it is timeless, not from look but driveability is better than newer ones at same class, one big mistake mercedes made is mac pherson suspension system it made cars feel more heavy and you dont feel the road as good, w210 rusts in eyes and welding machine is one basic tools you need if you own one and drive it daily especially in northern countries but like newer ones it does not have terrific electric problems like sbc or airmatic failures. btw if your w210 does not recognize key in -97 and newer ones (electrik steerin lock) 99% of time it is the key do not touch or try to clean keylock just program new key and this problem is more often in gen 1 keys (big ones)

Back when Mercedes are elegant and classy. Nowadays they’re as shitty over engineered pieces of crap overloaded with unnecessary digital functionalities

I was working for Mercedes Benz AG when the W210 was released. New look round headlights were a turnoff, the market hated them. Cann data bus was a total nightmare for most of the world as the autotrans leaks and ongoing problems. Warranty cost went up after the 124. The 210 structural interity was rather poor compared to the 124. The 211 was the car that the 210 needed to be.
The best things about a 210 were inherited from the 124, which double the production run.
W211 looked great, "Magic carpet ride"!
Carl Benz would roll in his grave!!

This is not true. The dealership never had any problems with my (several) W210's and the only common leak was coming from the transmission control module plug which was a 20 dollar and 15 minute job to change. None of my W210's even needed the connector change and I drove them past 300 000km.

The Mercedes W211 was a mockery with that brake pedal worthy of a video game. Mercedes never took responsibility for such a failure."

I hated the W210. It's still one of my least favourite E-classes today.
I may be biased, but I think the W211 facelift is a much more refined, much better interpretation of what the four-eyed look should be. It was very much an evolution of the W210's styling, but it is far a better composed rendition of that design language. To me, the W210 still looks incredibly awkward.
