1. Wonder if it’s an actual crush or if I’m overthinking it
2. Always think about them and wonder what they are doing or what they actually think of me
3. Tell myself I don’t have a crush on them
4. Completely avoid them and give one word responses to them like “k” or “cool”
5. Think I’m annoyed at them and act like I am so that they avoid me
6. Cry cause I think I might actually have a crush
7. Think of all the reasons I shouldn’t like them and how I am disgusting
8. Not see them for about a year and forget about them
9. See them again and get my feelings back and am always nervous around them
10. After I see them wish they didn’t exist or that they’d just get out of my life cause of what they’ve “done to me”
Or at least that’s what I did when I had a real crush and not one I just told myself I had a crush on for the sake of it 😁

To you poor souls in the comments who say “wait, you’re supposed to TALK to them??”, just do it! I know it sounds hard, but it’s worth it. Start a friendly conversation or just make a comment that makes them feel good.
If they react positively to it, great! You could try to deepen your relationship with them! If they don’t, then you respect that and back off a bit. Your crush is a person too, so getting to actually know them is crucial. If you want them to like you, let them know you exist first.

This is so true, I've been having a crush on him since the 3rd grade (now entering 12), I actually made my move in 11th grade by emailing him trying to talk. I was scared going into 12th grade and making moves, it would be too fast.
We hit it off for only a bit but then he just stopped emailing me. It didn't make me sad or anything, I was moving on.
Anyways, when Valentine's day came along, I saw a cute tiktok on making cards so I decided to make one for him. I emailed his teacher telling her to put my card on his desk for him since we weren't in the same classes. Then the next day, he emailed me back and gave me his number so we can talk more! Everything went great, he seems genuinely comfortable when talking to me and we are still talking till this day. :)
I had a crush on a girl in school.
10 years later we connected on social media and sometime later I confessed that I had a huge crush on her when we were classmates.
She was like, "Why didn't you tell me back then? We could've hit it off."
Lesson learnt: Getting your feelings out is 100 times better than regretting. Also do it at the right moment and as early as possible.

As someone who’s always tried developing friendships with their crushes beforehand, when you see them out in public you can introduce them to your parents, that’s less weird. Always be friends first, better relationships that way

I just never tell them how I feel and hope the feelings go away and eventually I completely withdraw and try to erase myself from their lives like I never existed. Sure, it's lonely, but it's less painful than them knowing and hurting me. Having crushes or any feelings for anyone just always ends in me getting hurt
Checking their social media is pretty valid. I do it to see if they have any red flags behind the scenes
There’s been times it saved me from building unnecessary attraction towards the wrong people

They might do. It's a big gamble... you get high from not asking but in that state you can't get them at all. Once you ask you break the emotion but there's some chance it can work.
What's also a possibility is they tag you along, especially if you're persistent, this dramatically increases the crush feeling but you know you have further to fall when it crashes... or if it succeeds when it is very high that's overperfection. This actually happened to me once, best day of my life 😂 but it didn't last long...

I mostly agree with the last point about who they choose to see. If there is a person (like an ex of theirs) that you both know is trying to get laid, she should choose not to be alone with that person. If she's choosing to be alone with them, it's not a matter of control at that point, it's a matter of boundaries being broken that you need to step away from.
I refrained myself from doing any of this even if I wanted to. I just let things flow how it should be and don't feel any pressure. I stopped myself from fantasizing and face the reality that we might just end up as friends...so it won't hurt my feelings. I never initiated a conversation with him but I added him on social media and gives 'like' to his posts. Anyway, he messaged me first. We started hanging out, getting to know each other, then few dates later he asked me if he could court me (which I never expected but did fantasize about it lol)...and now, he's my boyfriend. I never gave him a free pass to anything just because he is my crush. We went through the "getting to know" stage. I feel so blessed to be with a guy like him, not because he's my crush, but because he treats me respect. He's a living proof that chivalry isn't dead. ♥️

I think it’s best to take it slow. I usually establish a strong friendship and get to know them. Give it time, don’t just go straight to asking them out the next day. Stay friends for a while and just get comfortable around them, just don’t get too comfortable. I k is it can be hard to talk to ur crush. It comes with time and experience. I’ve gotten good at talking to people that I like just like how I would to all to anyone else. Remember being nervous is perfectly ok. It happens to all of us. Having just finished my freshman year in high school I do have a small crush on someone it’s normal, we are friends and I talk to her like anyone else. Well I already thought of those things, except the noting down thing. I sometimes forget things easily (especially when nervous), that why I noted a few things. I actually thought about noting more things, to not just forget them, but I see how this could be really uncomfortable.
