Underrated video. Clear concise explanations. Made cleaning my mic up palatable. 10/10 would send a new xlr owner to this vid.
appreciate you .
Have this same setup. Thankyou so much for this video! I'm not an audio engineer but I have been trying to find just this, so universally the mic sounds good on almost everything. This alone cleared up my audio on stream as well!~and after watching you I discovered first hand this "fighting for frequencies" right in front of me that I never noticed... a new nuance I didn't know was there, similar to screen tearing as far as quality but in the audio realm.
Glad I could help!
Love the videos man, just stumbled upon your videos. Thank you for the informative content!
So I just got my mixer and mic in and try to dial it in with some settings from another youtube channel. I was bummed because it sounded too deep and artificial. You really helped me get to a more natural point. I appreciate the content.
I hear ya. Too many people go for that AM Radio Voice, and it sounds completely fake. Natural sounds best
great video i forgot to write down my settings when i reinstalled windows last so i watched your video it worked perfect my mic sounds amazing (using a Rode Pod Mic) I did have to tweak some of the settings a tiny bit but with the help of your video I got my audio sounding nice and clean. Thanks again.
Great video bud! Helped me out a lot.
Thanks a ton - this video is a great reminder of what I teach people all the time... Maybe I should just point them here and save me the talking :)
Again amazing tutorial. Thanks for the instrutions.
You're welcome.
Great pacing and breakdown!
Glad you liked it!
Super helpful! Thanks.
Great informative video, thanks :)
I’d love it if you could do a setup video on the best configuration for a Blue Mouse with a GoXLR. Love the sound of this mic but I know with your help it could sound amazing!
I love your videos. They are so well-done and educational. Thank you, Jordan. Do you have an opinion on whether software or hardware EQ / compressor / gate / etc is better in certain situations? I've been playing around a bit. Certainly, at a live event, I would worry about fiddling around with software. I also find software-based solutions are very confusing to set up and it is hard to see what is going on. The setup is complicated; it is easy to make a mistake and screw something up. You also have worry about software introduced latency. Hardware-based solutions are much more transparent and easy to understand, but they lack the nuance and detail you can achieve in digital software. Hardware doesn't have latency problems (?) I think it also depends on whether your situation is dynamic or static. What I mean is that if you do your streaming broadcast with the same equipment in the same environment every time, it makes sense to spend a lot of time setting up software. Once you're happy with it, you just set it and forget it. If you constantly have different guests coming in, then you would need to make changes regularly. What are your thoughts?
great video helped tons! thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
great video thank you
This was very helpfull im just stuck on fixing the noise gate with not picking up my typing and this empty room echo sounding noise on the goxlr mic
Really comprehensive tutorial, thank you. But is it possible to directly monitor both my voice (with some FX applied on it) and my PC/Game audio simultaneously with 0 latency? I've heard that DSP processor here isn't good enough to produce 0 latency playback with FX applied. Thank you in advance!
P.S English isn't my first so don't blame on me)
any chance we could get an re20 eq guide with the goxlr mini? :)
thank you
If this question could be answered I would be most grateful. The video was great. I use an AT 2020 condenser mic, I know this is not ideal for streaming but its what I had available to me. Your setting's work perfectly EXCEPT I'm getting strange spikes in gain. I've tried raising and lowering noise gate and also the gain but I still get it thinking when the gate shutoff the gain picked up to quickly. I think no noise gate solves the issue but the mic pics up noise I can't even hear with my ears. Do you know what setting's would relate to that issue in the GOXLR?
I eagerly await this with the shure mv7 I’m holding in there.
Soooon
@@kettnercreative take as much time as you need, I enjoy the tutorials. I had no knowledge about audio setups, routing, and eq. So I’m learning allot, thank very much for the informative and easy to understand tutorials!!!
@@kettnercreative yea this would be awesome! please make it happen :D
I got one of these coming in the mail right now. When making these EQ adjustments how are you listing to hear if the adjustments are good? Do you record a sentance, then make a small tweek and then record again and listen to see which version you like more?
EV RE-20 is my dreamy mic.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou!
You are so welcome!
Any chance for an updated Equalizer setup since there was an update to the range on the EQ?
Are these settings only software settings or are these settings saved on that GoXLR and processed there?
Does this EQ fine tune setting work for the Shure M7V?
the you have one with re20 and mini go xlr
Sadly it seems the Go XLR mini doesn't have as much fine tuning as the full. There're only 6 sliders compared to 10.
I need a RE320 video for go xlr mini🥴😭
Nah, Black RE20!
Can i take this Settings for the Shure Sm7b?
Most definitely.
@@kettnercreative Thank you for your Work. You help me a lot. I have one question, I have a preamp for my Telicon Go Xlr (Fethead) that I have set to 29 db. Every time I'm oversteering, is that normal?
Is the sound better without a fethead? I have now ordered a high-quality 4-pin Mogami Xlr cable because my sound was often bad
@@RetroPat No, you don't need the Fethead. Just follow this video and it will work great.
