Very powerful concept! I learned some time ago that when i slow down, use less force, and keep my mind calm, i actually find more in the position and get better results...even against very athletic and skilled training partners. I also learned much faster, and i could have much longer training sessions since i didn't wear out as fast.
I also noticed less injuries to myself and my partners, and everyone seemed to enjoy the rolls much more when we weren't trying to kill each other. It also opens the door for people to try new techniques that may not be their best, since they aren't as afraid to get punished. So it helped me progress, but more importantly, it helped my training partners as well.
Doesn't mean you can't train hard, but it shouldn't feel like a death match every time. It's a friendly roll between partners, trying to better themselves and each other. That's what it's all about, at least in my mind. Just my opinion, but i think this is one of your best principles, and everyone should be learning it if they haven't already.
