I've got that same pair of boots. I was a die hard Chippewa guy for years but out of curiosity tried on a pair of ariat workhogs and man they felt great. I've had mine for about 7 months now and they still look and feel good. I'm on my feet 14+ hours a day and never feel it. Great boots.
"Frilly stuff" 😂😂😂😂 My wife literally cried when I came home with Western styled worked boots. That was 15 years ago. I prefer boots over athletic shoes
just bought my first pair. never heard of Ariat. I tried on several boots. was very impressed with the Ariat first time fit. according to the sales person it is a well built and long lasting boot. I thought it was a little pricy. but if it last as good as it feels then they have a new lifetime customer. very comfortable nice fitting. thank you for the review.
Tim, I'm interested in these boots but here in Canada they were $300 (and that's on sale!) I'm wondering after 3 years if you could tell me how long they lasted for you, were they good, did the outter sole wesr quick? Any pros and cons would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I had my Ariat workhog square toe's for 4 years now. I wear them on the weekend as well as to work, And around the yard. At home I've had them submerged in mud sprayed them off with the hose let them dry conditioned them And they still look good enough to go hangout with friends. The only signs of ware are on the heel of the soles. I want a new pair but can't justify getting a new pair when these are still in such great condition. One of my coworkers was so impressed by them he purchased a pair. I am by no means easy on them. I work in industrial Maintenance. My supervisor was even impressed with them. You keep the videos coming. And I'll keep watching. Thanks
Just purchased my second pair of Ariat Workhog (ARIAT Workhog XT Waterproof Carbon Toe Work Boot square toe). My previous pair was the Workhog Mesteno (slight;y different sole construction). The boots were comfortable and easy on and off. I'm in irrigation work and they're great for jumping holes full of water and mud and staying dry. They're comfortable but not the greatest on uneven ground where ankle support is necessary. The last pair I got about 14 months out of them. The arch on my shoveling foot eventually cracked. I just purchased another pair and the sole looks like they've done some different design a little bit (much like what is described in this video, so they should work better for my shovel work). But for landscapers who primarily do irrigation work, they're great. Just plant on a new pair about 12 to 18 months. Just the nature of abuse on a non resole workboot. They are comfortable and that's why I came back. Plus I am a southwest native and western boot look fits right in here...
I have these boots in square toe, I love em. I've noticed better posture as you mentioned , I pour concrete so I'm rough on them too. The best part about them is my feet don't hurt after a hard 16 hour day. I've been a Justin man my whole life and my feet always hurt, I wish I would have bought ariats a lot sooner.
I have bought the CE Smit pull ins the last 5 years. They have been great time lasting but the back has wore out on all of them like yours. I will probably be buying a set of these for the leather peice in the back to try.
Just recently found your channel. Great job man. I got my firat pair of Ariat work boots as well and I really like them so far. Fit like a glove right out of the box. Great comfort all day long. Enjoy your beer reviews as well.
“if you’re not oiling your boot you’re abusing them” Well Fred, when you work in the mud and dirt it’s kind of hard to keep them all shiny and oiled 🙄 we can’t all work indoors
Don't have to keep them shiny and oiled. But, I think it makes them last a lot longer if you tend to them once in a while. Maybe oil them a few times a year? Get months more use out of them.
Hey you dont know how demanding the locksmith world is /sarcasm. I am with you man...my boots are typically covered in mud, dirt, concrete etc. I am too tired to come home and clean the boots off and oil them. Work boots should be built to be abused.
Nothing wrong with wearing them all, these are stout looking and could probably take in anything but, our feet should experience everything else. I own a pair like these, another pair with the square toe, a lace up one , and another pair of heavy duty hicking boots. They all get their turn at work with me , sparingly.....
I am a danner quarry guy and have been for 20 years I love em, but I wanted to have a back up pair and a pull on to rotate my boots to let them dry inside and out so I went with these , first time with this brand they look good and feel good and were have the price of the boots I usually buy, with any luck I will be buying two pairs every 3 years instead of one a year
They feel pretty darn good right when you put em on, just wait a couple months and they'll feel amazing, i got the ariat workhog's that weren't the h2o because they weren't in stock but im pretty happy with them
My last 2 pair of Ariat boots cracked where u bend. I usually get about 14 months out of work boots. I've tried several styles/brands and they all have down falls and fail in different ways. For $200 Ariat has been the most comfortable in my opinion, my only complaint with Ariat is that they are not made in the USA.
I have love hate relationship with slip on boot. But I wear two socks. First one is long sock and the second sock I put over the first, then roll the top of that sock down under my heel. Then put the boot on. Takes the slop out.
I just bought me a pair of Justin work boots wk4990 today, hoping they last for welding at my highschool, but they are dark and the boot shop recommended getting mink oils for the boots, should I buy mink oil,and how often should I coat my boots with it?
I'm not doing anywhere near as much work as you are and am really interested in these boots, I mainly just wear my boots casually but they're a western boot so anytime I do have any work to do I cant really wear them so would you recommend these boots?
Not sure if it's just my foot or my boot but I have had a pair of steel toe ariat boots for about a year and have worn them about 50% of the year. they are broken in but the toe is starting to point up and has actually bruised my foot. Has anyone else had this problem or just me? I am thinking about getting rid of mine because of this but if there is a solution I'm willing to try it.
Made in China... 12-14 months is what I get out of $200 boots. I'm not disappointed with Ariat, they are more comfortable than some of the more expensive boots.
the sole are SHit. cold weather they turn to rock, cold clickidy clack walking.same problem with tony lama tlx and mud draging pigs with all that pretty grooves and such.
I have to wear steel toes at work and i bought some steel toe timberlands, and the fucking steel toes had like 3 inches of steel showing in the front of each boot in like 2 weeks. those boots were comfortable as fuck, but the leather is shit and lets that toe out too easily, and the bottoms were cracked in about 7 months. i wore them every day at work, but i havent been able to for the past week because i have to have water proof boots as well once that toes out and those soles crack, they're not water proof at all.. my timberlands were 150$ the leather cracked on top as well, and like dried out. by the toe where they bend.

post some video of your boots. please.
How do they fit good n sizes. True to our her boots or run small or big
I have this boot with a square toe. They are the most comfortable work boot I have worn. For me they last a good while. I wear them all the time man.
are they waterproof?
Great boot I can't say enough about these. Mine have lasted over a year and half. Buying a new pair this Friday. Best I've ever had.

M. McGuire then you one smart son of a gun

Yeah men usually wear boots.

I don't wear same pair everyday, I buy 2pair at a time, and give them a day to dry out. Found out they last alot longer.
Very smart. Wear the same pair everyday will wear them out 4x faster.
I use a boot dryer
Joseph Bell yea I have a pair of these Ariats, pair of Danner 6” Workman, 8” Danner Viscious and Lacrosse Alpha comp toe.

I’ve had my ariats for 2 years i do lights work (landscaping) but beautiful going on 3 years
I've got two years with my Thorogood composite toe work boots.... while not waterproof, proper, I've yet to get my feet wet.
Great review though!
Nice!
I love my Ariats...they make a great boot

Good To hear
If you kneel down a lot for work the will start to crack in between the heel and the front part of the sole. The plastic doesn’t last.
I'm in landscaping mine lasted two years strong.

I usually wait to break the boots in before I oil them. You do them brand new?
Go offshore Gulf of Mexico on rigs and production platforms. Ariat workhogs are a beast.
Being a dairymen these boots have last me a while going on 5 months
I have the doc Brown arrieta's work boots working great with
Hubbard's boot grease is the best...
Absolutely!! The best!

Do you recommend this oil for Red Wings classic moc toe copper color, leather boot?

Will you be doing any more boots videos in the near future? Hope so.
How about buying better works boots ?

very big and hot boots
I prefer wax over oil.
I like Mermac mink oil. It's all natural.
YEAH! Wax with a heat gun........
you should do a update on how they are lasting
They suck. Already started leaking

You need square toe
Could u not resole your danners. Those are some of the best boots I have ever bought
If you oil too much it can effect stitching. I know that from all my leather horse equipment!
How much is too much?

also they are the square toe. I have always worn round toe in the past.
Might just be the style of boot. Some just don't fit properly
damn those are HOT BOOTS
Its a work boot.. Why oil them just wear them and they won't dry out.

These suck. Didn't last a year in light oilfield work. 100$ timberlands lasted longer
