- tr.ee/T7sSZnpw9z Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
We can also use other tools to remove hard ear wax, foreign bodies, peeling dead skin or for ear infection removal.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green.
We post new ear cleaning videos Monday - Friday at 9PM GMT so if you find ear wax removal satisfying please consider subscribing to our channel.
Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

I always use a hairdryer because I cannot stand wet ears! In fact, it's super rare is use it to dry my hair. I pretty much only use it to dry out my ears. 😂
eardryer
@@ThundererR64T lol sounds like there's a market! It works so much better with a tiny to small hairdryer!!
@@racklinus I've not had any issues, but I always do it right away. I'd think it might help & better than doing nothing? I'm not sure.
Thankss I jumped and after the 30th time it started draining!

Being a lifeguard for a few years, where we were required to swim to stay strong, we often found our ears clogged with water. Our favorite method for getting them unclogged was to bend over at the waist with our ear facing the ground, and bounce our upper body up and down. If you have to you can brace yourself against a wall, but suddenly there will be a “pop” and all the water will rush out. An alternative was to shake your head while leaning over. These worked every time…if not one method, then the other.
Great tips
This worked!!! Thank you!
You’ve just saved me from going insane, THANK YOU!
THANK YOU FIRST THING THAT I TRIED THAT WORKED
thanks
For summer swimming occasional use, we would use rubbing alcohol. We used an small eye dropper full of rubbing alcohol, tip ear upright, flood ear, hold for 5 seconds, tip back with sometime off tissue or towel to catch the fluids. Worked ever time. Not sure what constant use would be, but I’m thinking this would only work for occasional situations. We never had ear aches or infections with this method.
I felt water staying in my ear all day and a loss of hearing in that ear. I tried several methods that you described, but nothing worked. An ENT discovered a large piece of earwax on my eardrum, which he removed. The wax held on to the water, which affected my hearing. Everything's great now.
Same with me
Bend forward slowly at the waist until you no longer hear the water moving in your ear. Then turn your head slowly. You'll hear the water again. Keep the head tilted, and the water should release in a few moments.
Omg thank you! It was driving me nuts i literally couldnt hear properly
I used to swim competitively and we would stand on one foot and hop to help jostle the water out.
Exactly! Works pretty much every time.
This is something Ive never come across but its mentioned in a few comments we'll have to include it in another video
thank you!!!! This helped me immediately!
THANK YOU WHAT IT ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME
THANK YOOOOOUUUUU
Nothing works and it’s been over a week 😭 going to just accept my new life style of only one ear working
Same 😢
is it still like that? Or have you fixed it?
@@jac6478 I think it may be clogged I never did anything about it I can’t afford it
It's easy to fix just put water and drain it by tilting your head, clogged water will mix in and come out together. Works for me every time
@@extrovertedintrovert9940 the poured in water didnt reach the clogged part what od i do
I just pour some tepid water INTO the ear that has water in it, then tilt the ear to let it drain out. The new water mixes with the clogged water and breaks the seal, allowing it to roll out.
Thank you
This works for me every time
Thanks was pissed for hours
Tilt your head, put one more drop of water in your ear, as soon as you hear a pop quickly tilt your the other way and all the water drains from your ear.
that was the stupidest thing ive ever tried
mine has been stuck for 1 month now i tried doing that it jus got more clogged
Have been doing this since i was a child, works perfectly every time
@@wickedwendy86You're right. It sure does work.
Omg this trick actually works! We and my sis are so happy!!! New subs for u!
Awesome advice!! Thank you!!
I always tilt my head and bounce it up and down a bit, works every time for me. I had no idea this was a problem for so many people, it is very annoying so I feel bad for them.
THANK YOU!! this is the only way that worked for me and it worked instantly
I was always very curious to see how water stuck inside your ear actually looks like. Any possibilities we could get a video of that?
Unfortunately, I'd think by the time most people make it to an audiologist for wet ears, they have an infection. 😢 But it would be cool if a guinea pig would be willing to get their ears wet just so we can see it!
Most of the time it would resolve in a few days but if we get a patient we will certainly do a video for you
@@AudiologyAssociatesUK I tried to get it out and I still can’t 😟
@@YungE.me neither 😭 did you get it out? If yes, how?!
Hi doc- I went swimming Wednesday and the water is still in my left ear primarily. I’m feeling partially deaf as I noticed music sounds louder in my right near headphones. When I switch the earphones, the music my still sounds louder in my right ear and is barely audible in my left. I’m about to travel from Miami back to NYC and worried the cabin pressure will make my left ear start to hurt. So far it’s just badly clogged from freestyle swimming on my left side. Should I just buy the ear drops once I get home? Or see an ear specialist? It’s been 2 days.
I have to lay on my side for the water to drain out, and feeling the water in the opposite ear makes me crazy in the interim. I have extremely dry skin and I make very little ear wax. My mother always put alcohol in my ears, and it dried out everything till I had an earache. That's when I learned to put olive oil in my ears before I went swimming. The water seems to drain more efficiently, and after the fact, my ears don't get overly dry.
I tried all of those and none of those worked
Did you solve your problem yet?
The second I heard him say to tilt your head I did it and within 10 seconds the water popped out. It felt so good ❤
POV: your on vaca and the first two are gonna have to work.
I always found that tilting your head and jumping up and down helped a lot
Thank you so much it's work 100/100% ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have tried all of these and nothing is clearing it D:
tysm man worked rlly well
Thank u for the tips.
Thank you.
Lmao! Was this a video based from my comment using a qtip to extract water from behind my eardrum? 😂 I feel……….seen. Thank you (many years too late) Rhys. 😂
Extract water from behind your eardrum? Honey if you got water back there you need a doctor, asap. We call that "medically relevant." 😸 There should be nothing but air in that chamber. Glue ear, infection, or some sort of eustachian tube disorder that prevents drainage can cause fluid behind the ear. All are very dangerous.
Not sure what you did. But you clearly didn't do what you claimed, since there is no way to extract water from behind the eardrum with a q-tip without first rapturing the eardrum.
Thanks so much!
Off topic but when you wiggled your ear to get the water out it reminded me of a chiropractor video I watched and the chiropractor would pull on the ear and there would be a cracking sound. Why would the chiropractor do this and what are the plus/minus for doing it?
I made a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 1 part isopropyl alcohol. Mixed it up, and put one dropper full into my daughter's ear. Drained it immediately by tilting her head. She said it instantly worked!
My question is: how should we clean our ears? No Qtips, but what solution should we use?
good advice!
Great tips, never thought of using a hairdryer or that you can by a spray. Thanks Mr B 😃😃😃
Wow, water came running down immediately from my ears. Thank you sooo much
Thank you so much! I’ve had water stuck in my ear for about an hour and I didn’t know what to do so I did what you said and it did come out! Thanks so much! ❤
Thanks alot! I Got water stück in my Ear because I went swimming with my friends and this helped a lot😉
Thanks
Wiggling my ear worked thanks 😘
Damn thanks bro!
Thank-you!
Thank you so much
What if i have a hole in my eardrum and i cant seem to get the water out
i was doing jumps while i have water in my ears, the water made a sound and i kept jumping, suddenly the water came out, so basically you just have to jump and tell me if it works
Yes boss
All you need to do is tilt your head then jump up and down but be careful when jumping especially on wet floors.
I've leaned my head to the side and placed a q tip at the edge of the ear canal to break the surface tension. Never thought about the wiggle. Thanks!
For the Americans out here who've never watched British comedies, their chemist is our pharmacy.
WTH does that mean?
Btw I'm not american.
another tip that work for me is shaking my head like hell! and it work
Been doing that since the 80s works all the time 😊
I shake my head, just like my cat. 🤣
Another way is tilt your head to the ear that is full of water and keep stomping your right or left leg until the water gets out of your ears, Hope That Helps😊
Thanks it worked!
YOU SAVED MY LIFE THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG I DIDNT THINK IT WAS GONNA WORK
Can't I just sop it up with some cotton buds? 😂😂
Wiggles... is there anything it cannot do?
indeed
I like using a facial tissue that is rolled up, very gently.
I've tried this before, being careful to roll it solidly enough that I don't think the (relatively small amount of) water in there will risk any of it breaking off!
We have a video with this in coming really soon
Haha I was waiting for the next line to be: “and if that doesnt work, just use a darn q-tip” 😂
T3am qtip. I stopped using them except to dry the ears after washing my hair
As a swimmer we use Alcohol like liquid alcohol we put it in her ears and let it kind of like wash around a little bit and then you just like turn on the side with the towel and just let it all fall out and then clean your ear and yeah
thanks , it worked 👍
I just bought a oil thing and u put it in ur ear and u tilt ur head like 20 mins later to the side u put it in and it takes a couple of seconds to come out but it is so worth it
Thank you because I got water in my ear after my hair was washed
Is water trapped in the ear always caused by a physical blockage? I can't imagine any other reasons except maybe a very narrowed ear canal...?
Thank you
NAW WHY DID TILTING MY HEAD WORK?? IT FELT LIKE BLOOD CAME OUT, TYSM
Thanks allot it worked
I normally just shake my head at max speed
Somehow i try to headbanging and its work lmao
Tilt the head and hop around. Has always worked for me
Yes sir that's the best way.
Always done that too when swimming.
Thanks the 1st step worked fine 😅
How does water get trapped in the ear or behind the membrane???
My ear hurts so bad!
have u fixed it?
sometimes when i get water in my ears i just put some more water in my ears the tilt my head to left or right then hit my head where the ear is located
Thank you so much!
Ok so nothing really worked for me and maybe i am not alone. So i just put a lil more water in my right ear(for 2-3 sec) and cover it with a cloth and then lay down on my pillow and the water came.hope it will help anyone
Tip- when u turn ur head ( to remove the water) make sure to do it quick and with a lil force ❤
Hey man! It's been like 3 days. When I pull my earlobe down, it pops my ear and opens it. But the moment I release it, it clogs up again. Also, I have been unable to yawn ever since this happened. I've tried many remidies from UA-cam but none seem to work. I am looking forward to your help now.
Please go see doctor
@@tceyuli6010 Oh no, it's fixed now. I figured it was because of weather change, temperature, and some wax. I used clearwax for 3 days, and it un clogged it. I'm good now.
Put ur ear that is the most full and
face it to the floor and jump with ir knees locked i did it and it worked I even saw the water fall out
@@pranavakshithey I am also suffering from this and I am also unable to yawn please guide me
@@mti2409 yo!
well I put about 1ml of an earwax disslover, clearwax, in my ear every night for two weeks. it helped me!
It's totally working thanks 😊
I use toilet paper around my finger and just run it around the outside of the ear and dab the ear canal yo soak up water inside the ear...
Just pour some more water and tilt the head until gravity does it's thing. You can hear air bubble sound when you fill more water and aloha!! Water is out.
Me trying the first method in space💀
Thank you sir I will go chemist tomorrow I try all of them
I could have told you this!!
Thank you so much!!❤😊
it is stuck in my ear for 6 hours, someone please tell me how to get it out😭
Nahh bruh mine has been stuck for 3 days
@@Charlesxander-uc9qb bro💀💀💀
Try jumping a few times and then wiggling your ears, it worked for me
thanks for the tip, but I have already got it out 8 months ago by putting more water in then get it all out at once.@@doogaminyu
@@Charlesxander-uc9qb same man how did u take it out??
Thankyou I'm so happy
When I was a child I got many ear infections from swimming and my doctor had me use a solution of 50:50 white vinegar and rubbing alcohol. It always took the water out completely. Now, 60 years later I just use the rubbing alcohol but wonder if that’s ok??? Dries my ear out but is it damaging anything?
I'd personally rinse it out with water afterwards just to make sure no alcohol is left in there. Not a professional, so can't say whether a brief exposure like that would cause any problems. It's probably not something I'd want to try for myself, haha.
@@suitov
??? They are using alcohol to get the water out and here you propose they use water to get the alcohol out? LOL What?
@@SDayle If the alcohol worked to remove the blockage then it should be fine.
@@suitov alcohol is not used to remove a blockage. It is used to remove the water.
@@suitov alcohol is NOT used to remove a blockage... Unless the blockage is water. Alcohol is used to dry it up.
Thank you so much 😊
Ty looking for know I knew it's helpful you have a voice I like you speak firm easy to hear
This helpd in seconds. Thanx
😅 he basically said "Have you tried gravity?"
It works......!!...thank you sir for the information....
Sadly none of these worked mine have been blocked for 2 months now I can hardly hear I'm starting to get used to it.
Did you go and get them checked?
wow it kinda worked boi u just earned a like
This is what I do to get the water out of my ear. Get the ear that is mostly filled with water than I aim my ear at the pillow or couch cushion and lunch my self with the ear that is most filled and hit my ear with the pillow and the water just come out like a lake please tell me if this does not work
None of those things work for me. If I don't get something to suck it up, my ears will ache with any breeze into my ear.
Thankx
Tqs its works sir ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much❤❤❤
I get water every time when I go ocean and often my right ear gets water and stuck but it seems like it doesn’t come out until I use a cutip to push the water out other methods don’t work for me. But now I tried to stretch out my ear lobe and tilt and hold my nose
My grandfather told me to tilt my head and jump on one leg at the same time
My ear has had water in it for over 16 hours. I slept on the side that had water in the ear and when I woke up it was still there. I tried wiggling my ear and the tiniest bit of water came out but the majority is still in 🙁 Great video though! Looking at the other comments this helped a lot of people.
is it removed
@आर्य Yes, the following days I was doing some sports and it either eventually dried out or it came out with all of the movement
@@sydneybales I have water in the ear now, I got it clansed by doctor, I hope It will also get out soon, its so anoying.
Welp my ears are ringing.. think I messed up somewhere
Just tilt ur head in the side water is blocked and then jump water will come out easily
In my case is by leaning only my head to the front. It's has something to do with my right ear, i don't understand what's happening, but it's the only way.
For me if i have that i put more water like 5 ml on my ear and when there is a pop sound tilk your head 👍
We always used alcohol- worked
How i do it is, i get hot tap water and pour it in my ear, then i turn my head quick and the water is gone
