like when season 5 comes out during an episode they should show a scene where a forensic pathologist is examining her body but before she cuts her open to know how she died and if any things inside her, like a punctured lung or something like if she swallowed any contraband like pills, etc, poussey blinks or moves a finger, that right there would make my day I would be so happy, I would have to replay that moment every time to see if it actually happened. or if she gets cremated when she's on the table under the black bag they carried her in the ambulance with, before they put her In the cremation chamber she moves, scaring the guy or guys who were about to put her in. or imagine Caputo let's the inmates have funeral for her in the chapel and her body is in a casket or a funeral outside on the field, but during the funeral while they're crying and while we are crying too looking at the screen, the camera is only on Taystee crying on the casket then it changes to like Caputo sitting in the back and while everybody is facing forward and the guards are on the side, someone touches his shoulder and says "what's all the commotion about?" shocked look on everyone's face the screen goes orange because the episode is over.

It was too much! So sad! I also felt bad for Gerber, I know he killed her but as a small girl (4'11") I know how easy is for someone to accidentally crush you. I felt sooo bad for Lolly because it seemed like she was starting to get better or at least live with it. 😢

It had to be Poussey. Her death was the only one to have that type of impact. She was kind, brave, funny. She was little and harmless. She was serving time for something as minor as selling weed. She was a light in the prison, and the riot wouldn't have happened if it was anyone else.

Im pretty sure she wasn't even selling. I think what happened was that they found weed on her, and they charged her for intent to sell. I mean, this girl didn't even sell hooch in prison, why would she sell drugs out there? Such a sad story.

I heard that Poussey's death was based around a true story where an inmate was killed and left on the floor for several days. As sad as it was, it does show the true corruption that can take place in a place like that.
They sacrificed a fan favorite because they wanted to make an important point. This kind of thing happens all the time... not leaving someone on the floor, but prisoners and "suspects" die (or are killed) in custody on a regular basis. Nothing changes because the people the police arrest on the street don't have power.

Johanna Whelan the whole show was based on a book i dont remember the authors last name but her first name is piper thats why piper is the main character cause its her story in a female prison
Chase Kinsman The idea for the show came from Piper Kerman's memoir, but she only spent 13 months in prison and the show is going to include 7 seasons.
The whole show isn't based on the book. Only the first 2 seasons were based on her experiences, and even then some major changes were made btw the show and her life, like having Alex in jail with her (irl she wasn't locked up with her ex-girlfriend) and the breakup with Larry (irl she stayed with and married the man she'd been dating when her sentence began).
It's a fictional character yet the sadness and outrage I feel for her death is so real. It's because shit like this does happen. This show is mirroring the things that are happening right now in the real world.
Yes, her death mirrors the Black Lives Matter movement. And the writers said that in order for her death to make an impact, they had to kill off a popular and lovable character. RIP Poussey

Poussey is one of the only characters from OITNB who's never been unlikeable during the course of all 4 seasons, she was the sweetest girl. Really sad.
Absolutely my favourite character, I felt like the end to her story came out of nowhere.. it didn't feel earned.

Sometimes people die like that, its not fair and thats why it had lots of impact and why people felt the way they did at the scene.
She was so brave and strong; the way she was the only one standing up against Vee when it meant losing her friends. Also, I read somewehere that she doesn't really speak German, but had to work hard to speak it in the episode that showed us her past. So impressive! I don't speak German, but I've been there enough and watched enough German TV and films to know that her accent was very good.
The scenes shot in New York were so artistically done. Bravo team! I loved the club scene where they had to do what the big screen and music said (jump, kiss, share, etc.).

I never thought I'd ever fall in love with a character like I did with Poussey. I know it's all acting and stuff but her death scene left me devastated after crying for hours and a headache for two days straight. To say she was awesome is just an understatement. I've just binge watched OITNB and so pleased I did. This was such an emotional rollercoaster of a story. Poussey's magical day in New York will stay with me for a very long time. Brilliant characters brought to life by beautiful people.

It adds to effect like if that were Maria or one of the skin heads you wouldn't feel as bad I think because they've done horrible things. Whenever Poussey does something 'wrong' she bounces back and she's always smiling.

Samira Wiley is such a cutie. A well spoken, genuine, and talented cutie. I hope her character gets the justice she deserves, and I hope to see Samira in bigger projects. I love her so much and I'm glad she brought life to the show and to Poussey.

The first 10 episodes were fun. Then it got too real for me
It amazes me how something you don't see coming at all can have such a huge effect on you as the watcher. The wind was knocked out of me when Poussey was killed and I didn't see it coming, even in the moment. The very end of the season, when she "breaks the fourth wall" so-to-speak and looks at the camera, it was everything in my power not to burst into tears (again). Seriously a wonderfully done season and a much more accurate portrayal of things like overcrowding and special treatment among celebrities etc. Rest in Peace Poussey Washington and congratulations to Samira Wiley for such a wonderful portrayal!
Hopefully people don't watch this video prior to finishing the season. Big time spoilers.
