If only there had been one camera following Pekkas face all the time, and showing in the corner his expressions and mimic conducting... what a joy, warmth, love, music... and it is reflected by the musicians in their fantastic presence and characters of this work. Love it!
@@JMcKey21 But sometimes you can even make a joke in classical music, cant you? For me this was the perfect ending of a very special performance. Greetings from Sweden.
That was truly amazing. Such sensitive playing, such togetherness ... it was a privilege to be able to watch, as well as listen to, these wonderfully talented musicians. The Holberg Suite will never be quite the same again to me! Heartfelt thanks to all involved in creating and uploading this beautiful video.
What a combination - one of the world's very finest chamber ensembles, paired with Kuusisto's musical inspiration. Flawless technique and that live performance atmosphere make this a performance that must be a bench-mark. Fabulous.
Grandios! Ein tolles Stück und ein phantastisches Orchester.👏👏👏 Besonders toll ist das Zusammenspiel und der Kontakt der Musiker untereinander, vor allem im letzten Satz der Konzertmeister mit der 1. Bratscherin. Ich liebe dieses Stück 😍🙃
When every war is over, lucky survivors need to turn back to sing and party again, therefore let's skip wars and start to enjoy music happenings right away, fighting for peace is a much bigger battle over any war dispute, here it is our resistance friends, never stop believe in 🎉❤🎉
'fighting' for peace is such a non-sense. Peace has to be in our hearts and then we can embrace each other instead of stabbing each other! Music and dance and fun are the opposite of war!
Superb playing from such great musicians. I especially love the relationship between the players the understanding & connection they clearly have adds that super polish on an already flawless performance
one of the best performances of the Holberg I've ever heard!! Bravo BRAVO An outstanding and completely uplifting performance I particularly loved the connection between the musicians 💖
It is such a joy to watch and listen to this wonderful orchestra play my favorite classical piece of music that never fails to lift my spirits way up high.....Bravo bravo!
Just WONDERFUL. Great recording . Beautifully controlled playing , faultless ensemble and superb interpretation of the wonderful music , the best I have ever heard.
Absolutely amazing. The highest level of an artistic work. I remember one of the violinists conducting the orchestra for the Capriol suite, so great to see him and other musicians after several years. Very professional, but not only that, the joy you are manifesting makes it really extraordinary. Thank you su much!!!
Gorgeous. You all play with such total musicality and enjoyment. The sounds are ravishing,This is my favourite of Grieg's works. Such heartfelt sentiments-truly human.Thank you. :-)
Me encanta esta obra ( todos sus tiempos ) desde que yo era muy joven; y sinceramente es, de lejos, la mejor interpretación que he encontrado en UA-cam! Felicitaciones desde España! 🌹
Good evening! It's Thursday again this week - and it's officially midsummer in Korea/Seoul. I hope the rest of the week brings you good health and good things. And always cheering for your beautiful/fascinating activities. ^^
Ahhh, one of my favorite pieces for Chamber Orchestra. Except that last part where there is a Solo Violin and Solo Viola, I struggle with the Solo Viola part🤣! But, very well done NWO! Beautiful sound and crisp playing with harmonious dynamics to accompany the whole sound which produces an overall silk smooth sound. Veldig bra gjort!
An early instance of "neo-classicism". Stravinsky did much the same thing in his Pulcinella suite many years later, supposedly (but perhaps mistakenly) basing his music on that of Pergolesi. Indeed I wondered if the theme of the Praeludium was the same as one used by Stravinsky. Perhaps someone more expert can tell me? I think this is the best version on UA-cam, the playing is impeccable and the recorded balance of the players rather better. For instance the first violins rather better heard than elsewhere. This piece doesn't require large forces. I've just been to a local concert where nine professional players (four violins, two violas, two cellos and one double bass) played it and it was a thoroughly musical and engaging experience. Someone mentions the iPad scores, great idea until they go wrong. At a recent concert series here, the first violin had to stop the music when this happened to her, and another malfunction caused one of New Zealand's finest pianists to have to restart the ensemble.;-((

Dmitry Sikorsky does this, too. It is a pleasure to see the joy of these musicians.
😊😊
The smiles on the musicians' faces are a clue to how much they love playing this music. What a warm and wonderful sound.
Thank you, I agree.
That glissando at 20:10 is fantastic. All in the orchestra smiles when Pekka Kuusisto is doing it! Friendship between Finland and Norway.
I actually felt that was really terrible. Terrible way to finish the piece of music. Sounded disgusting.

This is not an orchestra. This is a 17 soloist playing together. Beatifull!!
Comfort and Gracefulness and Wonderfulness of this performance are immeasurable and on the order of magnitude awesome
I'm on cloud

Its a crime to show the cellos doing um pa pa stuff when the violas have a solo passage😂. Lovely chamber orchestra.
Grieg, one of the Great Romantics , fantastic.❤👍
Miriam BENAYOUN
You dont need a huge orchestra to produce a magic sound
19:35 did you guys catch that funny thing that happened in The fifth movement
20:07 funny thing happened in fifth movement
Vau!!!
wow
Interesting in this modern age to see them reading the music off an iPad and changing the pages with their feet. Stunning music though.
Please l 😊
Wonderful to listen to but difficult to watch with all their moving around.
Sit down. Orchestra is too small.
