Sebastian Stan has been a fan favorite to play a young Luke Skywalker, but no, that’s not him, and there’s no official reason to think he’s playing the character any time soon. Still, it was fan clamoring that helped land Rosario Dawson the role of Ahsoka Tano, so it’s understandable that the Stan stans aren’t giving up.
How did Luke know where to find Mando and Baby Yoda?
Remember when Grogu was meditating at that Stonehenge-looking temple on that mountaintop a couple of episodes ago? Ahsoka had told Mando that bringing Grogu to that temple might get the attention of one of the remaining Jedi. Evidently that got Luke’s attention and he came to find a new pupil as he rebuilds the Jedi Order-or tries to. As we know from the new trilogy of movies, Luke tried to teach his nephew Ben Solo (aka Kylo Ren), but Ben turned to the dark side and he and his followers killed Luke’s other students.
Which is when a lone X-Wing Fighter arrives. Mando’s pals are none too impressed that only one X-Wing has come to help-and you’d be forgiven for assuming it was just the other X-Wing pilots we’d seen this season, Captain Carson Teva or Trapper Wolf-but something seemed different, and Grogu knew it.
We see a lone hooded figure cutting their way through the cruiser, mowing down Dark Troopers left and right...with a green lightsaber. It’s a Jedi. Could it be...? A glimpse of the hilt makes it much more definitive. Meanwhile, back on the bridge, Grogu keeps touching the security screens. He has a connection to this person, whoever it may be. Tensions continue to rise as this mystery Jedi rides the elevator up to the bridge, where he easily dispatches a dozen Dark Troopers in a hallway much like Darth Vader did after the battle of Scarif as he chased the stolen plans to the Death Star.
Black cloak? Green lightsaber? All facilities of the Force on his side? Folks, Luke Skywalker has arrived to help a little baby named Grogu.

I love the difference in the ending of their respective scenes. Darth's hallway scene was filled with fear and terror; everyone wanted to get out and it ended in screams. While Luke's was filled with hope and determination; the droids tried to stop him and Luke's ended in silence. Awesome, awesome scene.
A beautiful contrast
When i saw "Hope" and "determination" my brain was replaying all of the undertale's boss fight ost all over again
Luke destroyed robots. Vader destroyed people. There is a difference.
Yeah well...are all robots soo i don't think they fell emotion
Lucas oh greetings gaster
During the entire Luke sequence I was imagining Anakin as a ghost in the distance smiling like a proud father yelling "THAT'S MY BOY RIGHT THERE!!".
Anakin: “Son, SON! Tell them that your powers have doubled since the last time you met! That’s where the fun begins!”
Luke is my favorite character. I was so hyped to see him.
They gave him the best fight scene ever. His fights with Vader were epic but his moves in his hallway scene were Anakin in the clone wars level. Amazing.
You know what, no this was better than some of Anakin’s fights
A akin is mine
@@derpyplayground they are both so close for me. It’s hard for me to decide, but as of now I’m leaning Luke.
Honestly, I would have loved to see Leia instead. Don't get me wrong, I like Luke, but since we now know Leia became a Jedi too, it would have been nice to see her. It would have been a fresh take, rather than the same-old same-old
Lesson of the decade: Treat the Skywalkers with respect and reverence they deserve. Sure, this was used as fan service, and a way to win points with those of us upset with Luke's lack of presence in the sequel trilogy. But it showed him in a light far better then those movies ever could.
This is fan service but it’s fan service done *right* - *anyone* can enjoy this.
100% agree.
It's not fanservice when we know the whole point was to take Grogu to a jedi and luke was rebuilding the jedi order so of course he would show up at this time.
It stood on its own and fit the moment as well. That’s how fan service can work-when it is an organic part of the story
What’s wrong with fan service? We’re the customers. It’s like ordering a steak and the round headed waiter plops a plate of vegan pasta in front of me and shouts “I’ve subverted your expectations!” No tip for you, bitch.
The way he moved was exactly like Anakin . His scene was a perfect blend of Vader's hallway and Anakin's moves

This is visual poetry. It shows Dave Filoni's and Jon Favreau's commitment not only to star wars but also to George Lucas' concept of rhyme inside the universe. This is just a love letter to anakin/vader's legacy.
It is interesting seeing Luke use form V considering he would have had to learn it from Master Yoda. To think Yoda would have taught Luke one of the most aggressive forms for his confrontation with Vader shows how desperate Yoda was in the end.
@@CaptanF0rever in legends Luke learned form V from studying his fight with Vader in ESB. Now it isn't clear, but I focused on the idea that Luke was taught V by Yoda so that he would fail, die, and further protect Leia, who was yoda's choice.

Luke Skywalker is arguably the greatest fictional hero of all time. I love how this connects to his father man people really overlook the power of similarities sometimes
Luke is one of the few male characters we have who doesn't wallow in pathetic decisions, or require a woman or someone else to teach him correct behavior/ethics. Yes he learns from mentors in the films but he makes his own decisions, with courage, and they end up being good strong, emotionally intelligent decisions that his teachers didn't believe were possible. Luke proved them wrong, to their joy.
When you think about it... Grogu knew Anakin and is now seeing his son in action. Could be why he looked at the screen the way he did.

I love Luke's choreography in the episode. Pulls moves from the OT and Anakin and Vader's moves. Like when Anakin deflected the blaster behind him pointing his saber down over his right shoulder, Luke does the same move and adds a partial spin and Force push in the hallway scene.
Luke: "Dad! I got my own badass hallway fight!"
Anakin: "Great kid! Don't get cocky now!"
Luke has Anakin's aggression and anger but also has Padmé's calmness and sympathy which are balanced in an equal amount, so he is, indeed, a true Jedi.
The creators of Mandalorian are very wise to make Luke and Vader look similar.

Luke and Anakin were trained by the same people, so it makes sense they’d be familiar in the same forms. Love that attention to detail.
Luke appearing in the season finale of the Mandalorian was my all-time favourite part of the whole show and one of my top favourite Star Wars season finales along with Twilight of the Apprentice.
Moff Gideon definitely knew about Anakin Skywalker as a fearsome Jedi and most definitely idolised Darth Vader later in life. After the collapse of the Empire, Luke Skywalker must have been like a terrifying boogeyman to all the Imperial remnants across the Galaxy. This episode did Luke justice.
Anakin and Luke Hallway's slaughter are exactly the same. Even theyre lighsaber fighting skills.
Thank you posting that video
Kinda messed up when you realize that stormtroopers are all basically just human shields.
The reason the Empire didn't use droids is exactly this. They get cut down by Jedi like absolute trash... but they hesitate to just massacre armies of living men and women.
Unfortunately Gideon didn't get that memo and learned it the hard way.
Don't put an army of clankers in front of a Jedi. Just dont.
That would be correct, except that the Jedi are no more in Episode IV and the Empire still use Stormtroopers.
Kind of falls apart when you consider that...
The real reason why they don't use droids is because A) what happened in Episode I, B) the fact that the Droid Federation was wiped out, and C) because Palps just doesn't need them.
In The Mandalorian, however, while Luke has returned, the Jedi are still so far from being what they once were that it would simply be unnecessary.
The reason why Gideon has the new droids is because the Imperial Remnants are just that.. remnants.
Hopefully Mando Season 3 shows some newly constructed Droid Factories operating for the remnants - not as a big plot element, it can just be a simple location used in a filler episode, but it would help with the world building.
By the way, in the OG Thrawn Trilogy, Thrawn works out how to clone force users - what do you think Gideon is doing with the blood from a Jedi? Not to mention that the Jedi we speak of is from a race of force sensitives known to be incredibly strong in the force.

This scene was better than the entire sequel trilogy. What a fucking waste that was.0
@Reservoir Frogs I really hope you're joking.
@Reservoir Frogs Well everyone is entitled to their opinion. Yours is wrong but you're entitled to it.
@Reservoir Frogs
Well I don't actually believe in "wrong opinions." I was just being a bit flippant. I do actually think you're opinion on the film is as valid as any other opinion, I just personally disagree with it wholeheartedly.
I personally don't think TLJ was a bad film, I think the critical acclaim behind it was massively over hyped, but a lot of the criticisms of it are also overly critical. As a standalone film it was just ok, it was a bit boring and poorly paced for me personally, but some people like those kind of films, and it was clearly a much better made film than any of the prequels, with better direction acting and effects.
However as a Star Wars property it was by far my least favourite and most disappointing story to come out of Star Wars.
It was after TLJ that I realised that Disney had made no plans for an overarching story on how to go with the sequel trilogy, and that they had just given the story to three different directors and told them to do what they want with each film, which was just disappointing to me. I wanted to see 3 films that told a good story of a trilogy, and TLJ barely felt like a sequel to TFA. It just felt like an overcorrection after TFA was criticized for being unoriginal, which was a fair criticism imo, but then TRoS felt like an overcorrection in the other direction. It all just felt like a mess of a trilogy.
I'm not one of the fans who thinks that Rian Johnson ruined Star Wars, I just don't think he gets what the majority of Star Wars fans want, whereas Dave Filoni and Jon Faverau do. I'm of the opinion that the executives at Lucasfilm are to blame for the disappointing sequel trilogy because they didn't plan them out before making them.
Overall TLJ just didn't feel like a Star Wars property to me, it felt like an OK film from an entirely different franchise and not like a film from Star Wars.
I think the reasons why so many SW fans dislike TLJ so much is for that reason, and it's backed up by Rian Johnson saying that he had no interest in making a film in a wider universe, and just making a standalone film that he wanted to make.
Again, you can disagree with me, but that's the opinion that I, and a lot of other fans, hold.
I could go on about everything that disappointed me about TLJ and why it's personally my least favourite Star Wars property, but I'm interested to hear what you enjoyed about TLJ?
@Reservoir Frogs "Not as good as the last jedi" Litteraly any thing is better than that dumbster fire that couldn't even try to follow the story TFA tried to put into place, it is *the* movie that derailed the sequels into a train wreck.

Thank you so much for your work. Anakin and Luke are my two favorite SW characters ever 😍 how emotional
👏👏👏 This is exactly what makes this scene so good and it brings everything full circle. Luke’s entrance really resembles Anakin’s march on the Jedi temple (even with the aspect of someone watching them destroy everything from a security cam), as well as the countless times we saw Anakin aggressively take down battle droids throughout Episodes 2 and 3. Luke’s confidence as he walks through is so throwback to prime Anakin and Obi Wan. But what makes this come full circle is that Hayden Christensen studied and took a lot of inspiration in his acting by studying Mark Hamill’s performances, especially Return of the Jedi Luke for his time working on Revenge of the Sith Anakin, and now you can see how much they drew from those Anakin performances to mold this prime Luke. And then of course the hallway scene purposely parallels Vader’s scene in Rogue One except now it’s a Jedi. And again everything comes full circle even more cause that Vader scene in Rogue One is literally what will lead to Luke joining the rebellion and meeting Obi Wan!
Making this with the Luke and Darth Vader duel track is just amazing! Thank you!!
Vader brought terror in his attack... his son brought hope.
0:39 and and 0:58 give me chills. Well done - very well done.
Watching Luke go to town on those Dark Troopers was amazing. Shows you a) He truly is the son of Anakin Skywalker B)he is the apprentice of Obi-Wan and Yoda and C) how much he's evolved since the events of the Original Trilogy.
There's was like fluidity to his moves. He's not like how he was in Jedi where he was swinging the Saber like a baseball bat.
Perfect music score for this, thank you
never sit with a solo without checking under the table
never let a Kenobi get the high-ground
and never get trapped in a one way hallway with a Skywalker.
EXCELLENT EDIT!! PERFECT choice of music too!
This is so sick, just wondering where you get all the clips from without getting copyrighted?
The color is different, maybe it's that
