i’m not sure why for the longest time this kind of bag base would confuse me, but my brain just finally understood & im soo happy 😂🎉 currently making this bag on my trip! ☺️
THANK YOU MS. CORAL J. FOR THE BAG TUTORIAL. ONE QUESTION DID YOU USE 1 SKEIN ON THE CARON COTTON RIPPLE CAKE FOR THE BAG? THANKS AGAIN & HAPPY CROCHETING. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
OMG TYSM FOR RE-UPLOADING THIS VIDEO. I was so sad when it was gone and I was half way done. I LOVE this bag! TY!!!! Edit: also I have a question. Why did you get rid of the pictures with the graph stuff and numbers? Like the rounds of increases or the math that was like totals stitches/ 6.8 stuff like that. Was it confusing for some people? Sorry if this is confusing.
using the same yarn (the brand and everything) and hook size but ur dc's look bigger than mine. i'm wondering if they changed the yarn bc even your strands look a lil thicker. idgi. 😭
Idk if you're still interested in advice but literally LET IT HAPPEN. Once you finish the piece you can block your work and that should help it stay in place.
@@jamiesanchez3722after you finish the piece, you soak it in water (and conditioner/softener if you want softer yarn for the finish) and then thoroughly (but gently) roll out excess water in a towel. Then lay the work flat and let it dry. If you can see the piece still curling as it’s drying, pin the edges down into place and then let it dry. This process loosens up the fibers and lets the piece relax and sit properly. Lots of tutorials on it if you are confused along the way! Hope this helps 😊
For you round 5-6 to start crocheting the size of the bag, after you chain 2 do you insert the dc in that same stitch or go to the next chain? Need help please 😊
its because when you hit row five there gets to be too many increases if you were to want to do 5 rows just dont do as many increases as she said just skip every second stich
I think this was wayyyy too many increases, on row 4 my edges are looking like ruffles, I even started doing an increase in every other stitch instead of every increase stitch becaude it just looks so ridiculous......
i did five rows and the sides are curled a little.. scared to keep going cus i don’t want to undo my work if i end up finding out it’s not supposed to b like that. is curling on the edges normal for 5 rows?? pls lmk queen
sorry if you already told this but how big is the bag if i did the bag exactly the same way that in this video? like same amount of stiches and same yarn. can it fit my laptop or

And I have some curling. I saw another comment saying that if I keep going the curling will go away but my bag is getting bigger horizontally and not taller.
Hey:) make sure that your stitch count stays the same every row, it does tend to go outwards for the first few rows but should even out and go upwards if you’re making sure the stitch count is the same.
Because increases beyond row 4 of the base will result in curvature that cannot be flattened (possibly row 5 works if you block it). I personally think that stopping at row 4 and only doing DCs is best because it'll elevate shortly. If you want a bigger bag, then increase the number of starting chains.
You should do a vid on how you accessorized it.

How did you make and attach the mesh that's around it? I want to add that to mine so badly.
pls pls show us how to crochet the accessory
am i about to go out and buy more yarn to make this? yes 😵💫
love
hey! how many body rows did you do for the first version of the bag? like the laptop one. thanks for posting this, such a good project and video🫶
Pretty sure I did 19 rows! 🤍🤍
thank you!!
How many rows did you do on the side after the base, before the slouch on the bag in the beginning of the video?
Please can you make a vid of the accessory you have added on th bag

Ahhh so happy you can finish it now;) yeah, I revised that part to hopefully make it more straightforward for people😅
Does the tutorial of this bag not include the outer layer? The tutorial is different from the photo at the beginning of the video.
Thank you so much I love it 🤩🤩

wheres the yarn from?
Every time I try to add the fifth row, my increases tend to curl up making the bottom of the bag look weird. 🙁

Or just add fewer increase, I did every fifth stitch, worked the best for me
@@madisonbleh9094hi currently doing this rn and same issue with the fifth row , what do you mean block your work ?

Did you do one double crochet in each Stich on the base? I can tell if it’s one or two dc
For you round 5-6 to start crocheting the size of the bag, after you chain 2 do you insert the dc in that same stitch or go to the next chain? Need help please 😊
Always dc into the same stitch that you slip stitched into! Hope that helps.
how many rows did you do for the straps on the bag you made in the video. like for one half
hehe teach us how to do a star hehehe thank u
Why does mine look like a giant flower?? It’s all curled around the edges at the bottom and not going up.
its because when you hit row five there gets to be too many increases if you were to want to do 5 rows just dont do as many increases as she said just skip every second stich
Hey do tou have i tutorial for the star you made? 😊 thanks un advance
I don’t but I just made a bigger version of an average star that you could probably find on UA-cam:)
How many grams of yarn did you used??
Do you go into the back loop or both loops cause you don’t say that
Both
I think this was wayyyy too many increases, on row 4 my edges are looking like ruffles, I even started doing an increase in every other stitch instead of every increase stitch becaude it just looks so ridiculous......
agreed my edges started looking ruffled and curled up once i did row 5
@@paceyscreek. Yep, I ended up frogging it and doing a completely different pattern. It's a shame...
What could I do if when I do the increases in my fifth row it warps a little, is this normal?

A little curling is normal;) it will all even out as you continue to crochet the sides of the bag!
How did yours turn out? i also have a bit of rolling
i keep restarting bc my bad looks crooked and kind of square looking, do you have to turn work after every round?
I crocheted this bag in about two days, but when i put books or my ipad/laptop in it, it sags..???
thats normal, if you sew in a liner that would help
How much mm is the thread?
Hoe many rows would you recommend for the strap for a cross body bag?
This is so flipping AMAZING (つ≧▽≦)つ WAAAAA THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIAL
is it ok to use weight 4 acrylic yarn (the hook size is 5.5)??
Yeah! Try it out! Just make it as big as you want it to be:)
sorry if you already told this but how big is the bag if i did the bag exactly the same way that in this video? like same amount of stiches and same yarn. can it fit my laptop or
I would recommend doing 5 rows for the base if you want it to fit a laptop, you can crochet the height until you like it:)
did you freehand the star and other elements of the bag?
yep… I sold that bag too so I don’t know how I made it exactly 😅
Is there an estimate of how much yarn is needed? I don’t remember seeing it in the video
Hi! I used around 400 yards of light weight yarn:)
@@madebycoralsorry to disturb but I don't get it 400 yards?
Can you simplify it on the basis of how many balls of yarn you used?

did it work in the end, mine does that too
How much yarn do you need?
I used a little less than 400 yards!
how many did you chain for the one in the beginning of the video?
Same, 20, I made 5 rows though for the base
How long does it take? :)
It took me around 3 days:)
😊👍
is this a repost?
Yes, I had to take the last one down😭

i can't understand that much because your audio is not that loud
Try turning the volume up maybe? The audio can get very loud at max volume☺️
