Honestly, my new boss is exactly like this. Today we were doing stocktake, and a boy (teenager people see as just a typical lad who she likes to joke with) was double-checking the stuff I’d counted up, and my device said 60 and his was 59, and my manager came over and was like “yeah she’s done it wrong.” And she said to me “now YOU need to count ALL of that again because YOU were the one who counted it wrong,” really emphasising the fact it was me who made the error whilst she went the boy to move onto something else. So I did it again, feeling like a total idiot, and my device was still saying 60, and I did it in my head and also got 60, so I said to her and she came over and counted it, and was like “URGH (boy’s name), can you come and count this? I’m getting the same as her, I feel like I’m losing my marbles.” So he came and did it again mentally and was like “yeah, it IS 60.” And she was like “oh.” No apology or anything. Just “oh. So it was you who must have done it wrong then,” kind of laughing and not the exasperation she’d treated me with. And then she has the AUDACITY to turn round and say, “that’s a surprise. Normally boys are better with numbers.” 🙄 I mean, why would we even have 59 of something anyway?? Of course it was 60 lol
Oh my God that's awful! Is there anyone you could report her to for sexism? I can't believe she actually outright said that boys are normally better with numbers! That's blatant prejudice!
