Sold my '77 Ibanez SS bass, great bass, but heaviest hunk of wood I ever had to carry. Got a '71 Fender j-bass, it was like it was made of balsa in comparison.
Hi, I love that oldy Ibby instruments. Just have 2 musician 924 and I can't change those for the sound of my Fender MIJ JB62 RI (1993) stock or my Fender MIM PB (2008) with SPB-2 HOT Duncans. Just in the mix, only the jazz do the job. If the sound is no sacrifice, just going for a ligther bass is a good chance. But not my cup of tea. I will try out this Ibby jazz only for a while...or just to keep it!! But, what is the most noticiable differences between Fender and Ibby jazz for you (despite the weigth)?
