    Thanks for posting! I gave up a long time ago on prescriptions for my SD. I currently use Head&Shoulders clinical strength and wash probably 2-3 times a weak during a flare up. Without flare ups weekly to monthly. I'm going to try the rosewater with vitamin e and coconut oil.

    Wow that's quite a process you hv to do. More power to you sista. I subscribed to your channel after seeing one of your videos on another loc'd queen's page. Gorgeous locs.

    I use both of those medicated products but only as needed (not every time I wash) it's refreshing ( though not ideal) to know others go through what I go through. Love your locs btw. You have been my inspiration in my month and two week journey. Thanks for sharing.

      Thank you ☺️ Congrats on starting your journey! Hopefully I'll be able to get this under control soon and be able to scale back on the medicated products.

    I used to have the same problem with my scalp and was given prescription meds also. For me the prescription stuff made my locs and scalp very dry. About 3 years ago I switched to organic only shampoos and started to use ACV before shampoos. I lot of our hair products are full of parabens and sulfates. These chemicals can worsen your dermatitis. I've had my locks for 10 years and if it wasn't for ACV I probably would have gave up on them a long time ago

      I definitely hope to ween myself off of the meds once my SD is under control for a while. So far, so good for me. My scalp responds best to being clean and I apply coconut oil and rose water to my hair between washes for moisture.

      At first I was using it before every shampoo. I noticed a difference immediately. Now I use it every once in a while

    You are lovely, and so are your locs! That is quite the regimen, thanks for sharing. This is very helpful for my kids who have SD. I have managed to keep it at bay with the prescription shampoo and coconut oil. They have very little hair so it's much easier. I have itchy scalp (and locs 4 years) and have to wash about once a week. So I may try your OTC brands. Thanks again :)

    Thank you so much for making this video, I have the exact same issue with SD. Your locs are gorgeous, by the way. I have a question how did you manage with SD at the beginning stages of loc'ing your hair. I just started my locs 2 months ago and am about to loose it because I have to wash my hair so frequently and don't want to re-twist too much. :-(

    I suffer from this same thing && was given the exact medicated shampoo to use. I wasn't given anything to use in between washes && was told to use shampoo once a week. I want to try the method you use bc I'm still having issues. It's so challenging bc I havent been able to retwist or style my locs bc of the constant washing && irritation. Thank you for posting your method.

    I have the same exact problem with the same prescriptions. I stoped with the medicated shampoo because it didn't help anymore than head and shoulders. I may have to request it again and use the over night method as you suggest. Thanks.

      The overnight method has worked wonders for me. I definitely think you should try that, too.

    that Ketoconazole shampoo took my hair out BUT i think i may have used too much. My derm never told me to use only 2 teaspoons so as you mentioned, i am also heavy handed with shampoo. I looked high and low to find out the exact amount to use and even asked my derm but she never answered my questions..... she was not a nice woman.

    I am just startling my lock journey and I have seborrheic dermatitis as well. I have to wash my hair at least twice a week. I'm concerned with how this is affecting my locs and also with how often I should retwist.. I don't want to over manipulate and I'm and I'm afraid what I'm doing now will cause issues in the end. Do u have any suggestions?

    Mines is sooo sever. I have started to use azo an OTC yeast reducing probiotic. I got to the point with the steroid creams and foams o say enough is enough.

    I believe I may have the same problem. I am making an appointment with a dermatologist asap. However, I am curious. Do you use any other type of oils or hair grease on your scalp in between washes?

    Plsssssssssss can I get advice on your skin care routine... I have seborrheic dermatitis yes but for a while now I keep having eczema on Ma face, treat it but keeps coming back so I figure it's probably seborrheic dermatitis too on Ma face so it'll be super helpful if you tell Me what you use every day on your skin, thanks

    But the basis of the shampoo is SLS or not? Isn’t that super drying counterproductive to let that sit on the skalp for a whole night? Couldn’t u instead use a cream/solution without SLS with Ketoconazol?

    I'm curious as to the benefits of each of the different shampoos used - perhaps one medicated one, as opposed to several, will be more beneficial?

    Everyone with SD should look up candida which is an overgrowth of yeast in our systems. It's the same for athletes foot and jock itch, the fungal growth and excessive yeast in our bloodstreams are related somehow. It isn't a over night thing but can be done without a doctor. No i haven't started yet because laying off on fermented foods and drinks is required lol.🍷🍻 but soon..soon

    Omg my scalp would go insane if I used that stuff. All of a sudden 8 years ago I decided to go back natural after having my daughter. 3 years later I started to develop seboric derma titis during the time I started a new relationship (stress) and was experimenting with cowashing... Long story short I tried the over the counter shampoo, prescription, vegetarian, vegan, sugar free, gluten free diets, etc etc etc the best results I ever had was being gluten free, vegan diet ( which I can't maintain right now, vegetarian is good enough)... And now I realize when I lower my stress and do nothing to my scalp omg I mean I can't put nothing on my scalp... Life is great!!!! I'm scared to even moisture... I haven't seen a flake in weeks thank the lord. I washed my hair yesterday with baking soda focusing on the scalp and I was scared to do that... The peace I've found these past few weeks without flare ups... ;) sorry!!! Just feeling good!

  • @DaiSymone

    We spoke via email about my recent diagnosis. these are the exact same products they have prescribed me. and i was wondering how to go about it. so the shampoo they prescribed doesn't lather? or i should apply it like you did then use another shampoo to wash?

    • @LocCrush
      @LocCrush  6 років тому

      Dashia Symone it doesn’t lather much at all. I use it by putting it on overnight then using another shampoo to wash it out in the morning. The prescription shampoo helps to lift

    • @DaiSymone
      @DaiSymone 6 років тому

      Loc Crush okay perfect. So you get better results leaving it in for a while. Okay. And you don't experience any build up from the head and shoulders shampoo? Also, are there any oils that don't irritate you?

    finally someone who has seborrheic derm too. I just got diagnosed last week and she prescribed me two shampoos, two lotions. My hair is thick and long and she told me to stop using oils and butters. Also told me to wash my hair twice a week for 2 weeks then once a week for another 4 weeks. The first week isnt even done yet and my hair is dry af and I'm pretty sure my scalp is back to being wack. This is much eariler than if i just did my regular hair routine with my own shampoos and hair products. Is this dermatologist stuff justa scam? ugh. Giving up oil just seems counterintuitive to me
