I did not know about scapulars but the time I attended Father Bill Joseph retreats I had a dream of someone giving me a green scapular. From that day I started to know more about scapular and I started to wear a green scapular. I feel power from Heaven when I wear it.Thank you mother Mary.
Praying for conversions in my family, I have just purchased 12 Green Scapulars! I need to have them blessed first, right? Then I'm giving them to all my un-converted family and friends!
I have felt drawn to the green scapular for a long time, and just recently bought one and also an interesting book about it, called "The Green Scapular and Its Favors", by Marie Edouard Mott, CM.
Actually the oldest scapular...in terms of those given by the Blessed Mother to any religious order...is the Dominican Scapular. However, you have to be a part of the Dominican order to wear their scapular. The habit included the tunic and not the scapular, until our Lady appeared to Blessed Reginald of Orleans. He died in 1220, 30 years before the apparition to St. Simon Stock.
The efficacy of the green scapular is dependent on the Faith of the givers. The givers are the makers, the priest who blessed them and everyone in the chain of creation of this sacramental. Getting one made in a factory by pagan slave labor in China that is sold online as a means of commerce to give financial benefits to the seller, is not adding much to the "Faith" of the givers. Make your own or even better enlist the assistance of your older family and friends who want to assist in the conversion of the World but are not so hearty and hail as they used to be. Those helping out with buying the felt or cord or paying for the printed images, can add their faith and charity to the efficacy of your scapulars. Google, printable images for making Green Scapulars, and you will find free images in numerous languages.
The green scapular is no longer newer scapular, is still very important to wear but there’s a new scapular and is for this time is the purple scapular. Wear them both with the green, brown or five fold scapular, just add the green and the purple with it, make sure is blessed.
The priest and the one to be enrolled must be personally present to each other in this enrollment. Any priest can perform the enrollment, which only needs to be done once. (As scapulars wear out and are replaced, it is not even necessary to have the new ones blessed.) You can find the prayers for enrollment in the Confraternity of the Brown Scapular on page 29 of the booklet "Our Lady’s Garment," available online at: www.fatima.org/apostolate/pdf/brown_scapular.pdf Our Lady has promised salvation to all those who die clothed in the Brown Scapular. Another wonderful promise made by Our Lady regards the Sabbatine Privilege. For all those who 1) are enrolled in and wear the Brown Scapular, 2) observe chastity according to their state in life, and 3) perform a prescribed work of prayers, Our Lady promises to deliver these souls from Purgatory on the first Saturday after their death. The "prescribed work" in the third condition above is established as the daily recitation of the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin, but any priest can authorize you to substitute a daily five-decade Rosary for the recitation of the Office. It would be a suitable opportunity at the time of the enrollment to ask the priest to give his permission for this substitution. May Our Lady preserve you and your loved ones under Her holy mantle!

You can request the Green Scapular pamphlet (a single small folded sheet, but very informative, called "Among Mary's Gifts: The Green Scapular") by sending an email to info@fatima.org Investiture is not required for the Green Scapular, but it should be blessed by a priest. The scapular may be either worn or carried. The devotion also calls for praying at least once daily, "Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death." It is also possible to undertake this devotion for another person whose conversion is sought.
