A good way to get people to accept a green scapular, especially non-Catholics, is to simply offer it as a promise to pray for them. I've never had one refused when offered this way and most people are touched and honored to receive such a gift. They always promise to pray for me, too. Keep blessed ones in your purses, ladies, and hand them out to those who need them. Ask their name and then add them to your list. Our Lady left heaven to give us this gift so we are bound to use it. Wonderful sermon, Father. Thank you for promoting this under-utilized sacramental.

I always keep blessed green scapulars and Miraculous Medals too. I must have given more than a 100 green scapulars in the last 6 months and I have given it to everyone: Uber drivers, service crew in restaurants, close friends, random strangers, my loved ones. Mama Mary will take care of all of us. Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for us. now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I put one under my rebellious alcohoilc nephew's mattress, prayed appropriately. The next day he admitted himself to rehab - after 20+ years of refusing. Still praying for his salvation. What a blessing and miracle from our precious Mother.

Green Scapular works - it helped bring me back from 20 years of atheism.
I purchase and give away as many of these as I can. I also preach it to the Boomer and Gen Z parents of children who have left the faith, just on a one-to-one basis when I run into these people, especially the parents of my former classmates in Catholic School. We all left the faith. I was fortunate enough to be brought back. I don't think any of my classmates were, or perhaps there were very few. They're all dead now because of growing up in the Novus Ordo. They just don't know it yet. :'(

Dear LH, if the bishop was Catholic, you can pray for his eternal soul at the start of praying the holy Rosary daily. The green scapular is for the conversion of people who are not Catholic yet.
We members of the great SSPX have many Green Scapulars hanging at our bedside due to the ones who refuse to have them such as my own family. My family are really opposed to our Lord and they genuinely hate, hate, the Church, so, I have 3 Green scapulars next to my bed and pray every morning through the Immaculate Heart of Mary for their eternal souls. I give put Blessed Green Scapulars to anyone who will take them. Most of those approached take them. I don't mind the odd rebuff. If I can just save one soul it is worth all the effort.

I have given 2 months ago to someone close to myself the green scapular, who is practising sorcery. They wanted the brown scapular, ( A fear of death deep down for their souls situation) but I said, that is not the one for you, as if you are in mortal sin, you will not be able to wear it.
What is the difference between the brown scapular, black scapular and green scapular?
There are more colors than that. The purple scapular was given for protection in the Chastisement. It is HUGE . You need to look up all the colors , who it was given to and what promises are attached.

That promise IS absolute and UNconditional: a person does Not need to be Catholic, a Christian or even believe in God; the only requirement is that the person must be >wearing< the Brown Scapular at the time of his/her death. Mary gave this promise, with additional details, when she appeared to St. Simon Stock in 1251.
Now, for full and added benefits to be received, a person must be >enrolled in/invested in< the Brown Scapular because it is an emblem of the habit of the Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (but a person does not need to follow any practices of that religious order). As long as the Brown Scapular >is blessed and the person is wearing it< when he/she dies, Mary's promise applies.
Of course, God and Our Lady will NOT be mocked: Repeated examples have been attested to through the generations that >if< a person was given that Scapular but had No intention to try to get/be right with God... then, virtually always, it was found out at the time or later that he was not wearing it at/had taken it off before the time of death, and so died without Mary's special protection.
Books have been written about miracles of conversion AND of physical protection from danger that people received because of the Brown Scapular. So it IS a powerful sacramental of the Church. It is a deeply misguided and sad sign of the times when you hear of people-even priests (!)-that belittle or even reject its value and countless generations of popes, saints and the faithful who have praised it, encouraged its use, and described miracles obtained-both physical and spiritual.

The Green Scapular, the topic of this video, is different: 1) it is not a part/emblem of a religious order and their habit worn, so it does Not need to be worn (even though it'd be ideal to do so); 2) it does not have an absolute unconditional promise attached-though it is powerful when used with faith, especially when strong; 3) the simple one-line prayer must be said daily-either by the person receiving the scapular or by the one who gave it.
A generous aspect of the Green Scapular is that the person receiving it doesn't >have to< do anything except just be willing to keep the Green Scapular either on their person OR even just in their room, etc-because the person that gave the Green Scapular can say the daily prayer in their behalf.

Personally, before I was only vaguely aware of the existence of the Green Scapular, but after listening to this video, especially its indirect-yet real-connections to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and Our Lady of Fatima (because there are NO Random chance coincidences with God), I'm going to make it a part of my life, especially as a genuine way to help others spiritually
