I hope people don’t see this and think the arai has poor air flow. Mine is the best flowing helmet I’ve ever had. All my prior helmets including shoei left me constantly wondering if the vents were even open, The arai I can definitely tell when they’re open. That klim must flow air like a sieve.
Oh the Aira is solid and the best...but the Klim one in summer heat is better because yes...air flows like a faucet....haha
Nice rundown mate, but now I'm even more confused on what to buy haha. I live in a really hot climate, would you say the Klimb would be better since it has better airflow? Maybe I should just buy both like you ha (if only)
Hot Climate - KLIM for sure...you will burn up in Aria....may be a little bit noisier...but not as hot...or buy both...HA!!! - Good Luck!!
Thanks, great comparison of two of the top ADV helmets. BTW it is wind buffeting, not buffering.

I have an Arai XD4 about 4 years old,, it seems heavy for me, especially for long journeys
Yes...agree it can start to feel heavy....my Klim helmet is the lightest...biggest deterant is the visor doesn't Crack open small enough like the Aria....thanks for commenting
Expensive lesson. New Arai XD4/Tour-X4 helmet with new Cardo comm unit attached via provided clip. Seemed to be a good way to attach unit. That isn't what I learned from impacting the left side of my helmet. The top corner where the roller/wheel is attached in the case hit the ground causing the clip to twist which in turn caused the fiberglass to crack about an inch at that point. I learned from Arai, after sending photos, that they deemed the helmets integrity compromised and to not use it. I asked what their recommendations were for attaching external devises to their helmets was and their reply was 3M tape so in the event of a crash it will tear off. I will use the either the Cardo adhesive pad or 3M tape in the future.

I tried dozens of helmets and in the end went with the Schuberth E1 Endurance. I haven't regretted that decision. I like the drop down sun visor, but not having normal D-rings I find Schuberth's helmets harder to 'lock' onto the bike. But the airflow seems nice compared to most. Might be worth taking a look at at some point.
A couple people have mentioned Schuberth - but I've never tried one...good info..thanks! - I do like the Modular big plus...thanks!
Just a note - Arai has 3 airflow openings inside the chin as well, did you open them.
Thanks and yes - but still doesn’t have as much air flow….pros and cons to both helmets…thanks again!
@@lifesjourneyat50 There is an inner and outter shutter that have to be open.
@@scottenlow5249 I've done that and it does help...still think my Klim is more breathable...but overall my XD 4 is a better helmet...thanks for comment

The adjustment of the visor and fit of the Arai is the best to me. I have to have a very small windscreen on the bike to avoid helmet buffeting though

@@lifesjourneyat50 I have a question about Klim sizing. I fall in between 2XL and 3XL, my head is ginormous at 25". I can only get the 3XL atm, do you think I'll be ok if I order the 3xl?
@@fuelerr OK...so I wear a 7 7/8 or 8 fitted baseball hat....the Klim is a little snug....the Aria fits perfect....worst case is get the 3x and then send back...good luck

Klim Krios Pro comes with the Transitions shield and that is why I went with the Klim over the Arai.
I transition shield is nice but I use the beak so it seems to not work great with half sun and shade...whats your experience...thanks!!!
@@lifesjourneyat50 I have used mine for over 2 years now and only use it with the beak on. The only time I have any issues with the transitions shield and the beak is if I open the shield, then it shadows. When closed I have never noticed any issues.
